My wife doesn't let me leave reviews, because she says I get too power hungry. She says it's a slippery slope. But she doesn't know nothing. She doesn't know what it's like to crawl into the chair of another man and feel him stab you in all the right places, whispering sweet nothings in my ear and telling me to shut up when I start to cry, and after it's all over he throws a damp towel at me for cleaning off. She'll never know.. But you can! Whenever I pull up to ancient oak, and I'm sitting in their parking lot, which I'll be honest, it's a pretty shit parking lot, I get really stupid excited. Like a squirrel at a fondue restaurant, you know. I know that once I'm inside, I'm gonna have a great day, and that I'm gonna walk out with some incredible artwork. They are legitimately rad people doing super crisp and polished tattoos in here. The place is super clean, the atmosphere in the shop is like a mixture of The View and American Gladiator, but with more spandex. Each time I've take my dumb half-thought up ideas in here, they just draw it up into something actually cool looking. I've only had work done by Adrienne and Doug, but they're fucking pros in this shop. This ain't a tattoo you'll regret. You're only gonna regret having to answer all the "hey sweet tattoo, where's you get it" questions. That and you're gonna regret if you tell me wife I was talking about her. That's our secret. My boyfriend and I decided this past weekend to get tattoos since we've wanted them for a while. We called Ancient Oak Tattoos, told them what we were looking to get, and told us to come in that evening. When we arrived, we were greeted by MJ who was absolutely hilarious and entertaining. He even went to the liquor store and asked us if we wanted anything ! Larry did both of our tattoos, and I have to say, for someone who said he's only been doing this work for a year, he did a FANTASTIC job! I got a Grateful Dead steal your face tattoo, and the shading he did was impeccable. As soon as I sat in the chair, they changed the music and it was a straight up Grateful Dead party! I found that to be such a nice touch. My boyfriend got words on his chest that he wanted backwards so he can see it in the mirror, and Larry performed ! From start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. The vibe was so amazing, that we are already planning our next tattoos. I've personally gotten dozens of hours worth of tattooing from Adrienne & Doug @ Ancient Oak Tattoo. I've never had anything short of an amazing experience. Talented artists creating custom artwork in a clean and comfortable environment. They're some of the most genuine people you can meet and the pricing has always been fair in my opinion. You're paying for someone's time, experience & artistry that they work very hard at and care about deeply. Every tattoo shop I've been in- there's always a wait. Anyone who's gone through the tattoo process before knows there are a lot of variables that can change up timing which causes artists to run behind sometimes. They're also human beings that need to stop to hydrate, eat etc. This also goes for rescheduling. Life has been crazy for everyone since COVID and you never know what someone is going through that causes them to reschedule. Obviously artists would prefer to work and make $. Sometimes life struggles happen. Have some empathy and patience. The world doesn't revolve around you. read more

I have gotten multiple tattoos by Travis, and have another one booked in about a month, and already can't wait to book with him after that. First and foremost his work is amazing. He takes his time understanding what you're looking for and creates beautiful pieces based on your ideas! I've brought my sister to him for a family tattoo and it came out amazing, she was so happy with her first tattoo! Currently, I have sat for over 20 sessions with Adrienne since her literal first days of tattooing. It's been an absolute honor to witness her progression from working in art, into the art of tattooing, and then again into the art of business owner. Her skills and discipline in her work and bedside manner continue to flourish beyond the standard shop, and after moving out west, I can still guarantee I will absolutely make the 5+ hour flight to continue to receive work by her at this gorgeous space. I have gotten all 60 something tattoos done by Trav and I am in love with every single one of them! He is very kind and patient.
