Failed to show up after person on phone said they were coming. No response to follow-up calls/messages. Worthless

Uhhhh man.... Idk what to say about this place. They towed my van out of my lot claiming that I didn't have a permit. But I did have a permit when I parked it. Someone took my permit, whether it was another tennant it them, I can't say. But my lock had been definitely picked by someone. Nothing was taken but the permit, which makes me think the tow company did it when they realized they had taken a legit vehicle. They also popped out my rear bumper and damaged my passenger side wheel well. I KNOW they did it because the passenger mirror was also popped inward which requires a lot of force. The girl at the desk said she would tell the owner, but I doubt anything will come of it. The only positives are that they released the vehicle with no charge because the owner of my building told them they had to. What I found disturbing is they released it with no paperwork, no signature, they didn't even ask for my ID. I think maybe she was just trying to be nice, because they shouldn't have towed my car in the first place. But honestly, they're was something shady about the whole thing. read more

Called this place two different times to have a tow come pick up a car and both times the company never picked up the autos. Need a lawn decoration to make people think illegal parking will be enforced but not. Partner with this company and you'll always be disappointed. read more

Writing this after my third time being towed. I am stationed here in this and the first time I was towed I had just gotten back into town from an exercise. The second time I was towed for expired parking stickers?! Which I was never informed of. Now on Veterans Day, I have no idea what I've been towed for, and it's great that they're closed on this holiday, seeing how I need my car to get on base. Ive been waiting over an hour to hear back from their jockey. To hear when I can get my car back. A real big oorah Edit 1: Now has been two hours with no word on if I can get my car. So now a veteran might not be able to get to work because they're closed on Veterans Day. Nice. Edit 2: it's the next day, and I still haven't gotten any type of reach back on when I can pick up my car. I've been calling frequently, from their telephone operators they should've been open for half an hour by now. I've burned a vacation day seeing as how I wouldn't be able to show up to duty today. How is this not criminal. Edit 3: after a hour and a half after opening, and frequent calling. I was only able to get a hold of their main office by going through APD. read more

Thieves basically stole my car that was legally parked. Note this vehicle has a special needs child that depends on this car for transportation. Do not give this company your business. Unfortunately they will force their business onto you by stealing your car and force you to pay to get it back. read more

They charged $155 for a maybe 5 mile ride when we broke down at midnight. They had 2 people in the car when they knew there was 2 of us coming so I had to sit on my friends lap. It was a total joke and I wouldn't recommend using this company even if you're in a pinch. read more

So these douche bags took my 16-year-old daughters car out of her assigned parking place over at the checkmate Plaza because they had not yet gotten a parking sticker in her window they didn't knock on the door they didn't even give a heads up they just snatched her car with all her belongings in it and then yup F you bring us $500 or you can kiss your car goodbye. I tried to explain to him that the car had only been there a few days they didn't care they just wanted $500 and beings I am a shop and they were actually my tow company I will be dropping them I won't ever use them again they prey on people that don't have any money there opportunists they like to yank money out of people's pockets that don't have it I was never thrilled with their service to begin with and now I'm even less thrilled and all I can tell you folks that are reading this user beware because these guys will burn you, so the last thing the guy told me was he was sending me to collections, he was such a fucking idiot because I told him three times it wasn't my car then I told him that they were my tow company for my shop and he didn't care about that either so obviously they don't care who you are or what the situation is or how you feel or what you think all they care about is dipping into your pockets and taking your money or taking your car and auctioning it off for the cash....All I can say is karma is a bitch. read more

I wanted to come write a review because companies like this one-whom usually do work people on the receiving end are a bit stressed out about. Be it a repossession, or a permit that wasn't properly displayed, it's the nature of the beast...people leaving negative reviews. That being said, I have had my fair share of bad experiences with tow companies, but this one exceeded any expectations. Here's how Anchorage Towing and their driver Dwayne (I hope I spelled that right) turned a rough night into a better one. My boyfriend was on his way home around 9:50pm in formal wear. He was on the highway southbound and hit a pothole. He got a flat shortly after and was on the side of the road moments after. The car didn't come with a spare because the stock performance tires are the kind that you can still drive on when they're flat. Unfortunately the pair that they "threw in to sweeten the deal" when he bought the car are winter tires that weren't that type. He told me around 9:50 that he had a flat, then 10:30 he said no tow company through Verizon's roadside assistance would tow him because the car is too new. (insert eyeball and explicit language here). He asked me to bring his spare from the old car (earlier model of same car) so I took a cab to Glenn highway at boniface and stayed with him. I'd called my roadside too because I have it through USAA and they said if his came before I could just call an cancel. About 20 minutes later both companies let us know the wait would be around 4 hours since only two companies were available through the third party contracting source. They told us if we wanted to find our own tow company it would be reimbursed. I called about 5 "24 hour" tow companies before I finally got one that answered the phone, and could come change the tire in 45. That was Anchorage towing. Dwayne showed up early and tried to change it. Turns out the spare doesn't fit on the new model. Thankfully it was an actual tow truck and not one of those battery vans. He towed the car to the dealer and dropped us off at home down the street. He was pleasant, funny, and knew what he was doing. It was evident in his efforts to make sure he did what was best for the car despite the additional time it took hook it up. Thank you for your help! You guys rock. read more

If this had an option for no stars they would get that. The fact this website provides no less than a single star is robbery for the consumer that's angry as hell with piss poor service that they have received. I have constantly hounded this company for the last three weeks about a vehicle tow. It's always the after hours number and it goes to an answering service because they are using the answering service to take liability away from the conversation with the customer because the service is so crappy. With the last 6 times I've called no one has showed up because either there is no driver or he thinks there is no money in showing up for this tow. DO NO USE THIS COMPANY. read more

Giving them one Star is being quite generous. This is the most unorganized organization I have ever come across. First it was a hassle trying to find them. I called to ask them for a little direction and the guy was so rude and disrespectful. If I could leave 0 stars I would. My sister in laws car was parked on our property and we woke up the next day to find it gone. We called APD who told us it had been towed by Anchorage towing and gave us the number and towing number etc. My sister in law was very relieved it wasn't stolen and called the towing company to see when she could go pick it up. They towed it in the middle of the night Friday night as I had been outside and saw the car around 10:30pm and it was gone at 6:30 am. Well, the girl who answered the phone said all she could do was pass the info to the manager because it's the weekend and almost no one was there. My sister in law was bummed and said "Really? There's no one I can talk to? You towed it last night" and was told by the girl on the phone "Did you not just hear what I said?" My husband then got very upset and said "wow give me the phone" the girl said "bye" and hung up. Your job is customer service! I know it can be hard but she should've offered my sister in law an explanation or even an apology, not a snarky reply. read more

Cheap $50 flat rate tow but if you're stranded on the side of the road in 20 degree weather with a toddler, don't call them unless you'd like to wait 2 HOURS for a tow. read more

It was a Monday and seemed like everyone needed a tow, so I didn't hold the wait against them. The tow truck driver was really good and a pleasant fellow - had the cutest little pup in his truck with him! The price was the most reasonable I had gotten that morning. Nobody likes paying for a tow, but they made it a bit less painful. I would call them again in a pinch. read more

The towing company is not open 24/7, I know that because I was getting kicked out at 5pm during the time I was trying to pay my fee for my truck because the women wanted to go do stuff. The women was overwhelming rude and inconsiderate. She claimed to cover all her bases but didn't show any proof that she did. When me and someone else asked questions, she didn't have an answer for some of them, deterred some of them, or said bring it to court. She took photos with her phone for the business, which I feel that is unprofessional and could be used as personal benefits, when she could have used a scanner or a device that is more secure. She bought her dogs to work which made me feel uncomfortable entering the building. My truck got towed because my parking permit wasn't where it was supposed to be, which I understand and had agreed to the placement but when they entered my truck to get the vin number which is accessible through the windshield and lock my steering wheel for towing they were 100% able to see the parking permit laying on the ground, which I wonder if they should re-do the policy if that's the case, stuff falls off sometimes. I don't know she is able to be do business through FaceTime, which doesn't seem right to me, I went in person because that's the right thing to do. read more
