Another must visit when in Newport. Cute little place near Bannister Wharf. No pressure if you just want to walk in. We always get Toffee to have with Chowder from The Black Pearl Annex. Something for later is always a must too.

I love this cute candy shop! Upon entry, the owner Katie greeted us and was very friendly. The store is on the smaller end and does have a limited stock of items. The toffee is delicious even though it is on the pricier end. Thankfully, the owners all visitors to try before purchasing! A definite must-have treat for anyone who loves toffee treats.

A candy store that ONLY sells toffee?! It had better be good! Oh, it definitely is. I love places that do one thing and do it exceptionally well. Anchor Toffee exemplifies this. Rich and delicious butter toffee in a cute little shop. I got to talk to the owner a little bit (hooray woman-owned businesses!) which made the visit extra special. They don't make candy onsite (check out nearby Kilwin's for that), but do offer samples. Cute merchandising and packaging - the 8 oz toffee comes in an ice cream pint type container with their super cute logo on it. Would make a great gift for someone you're taking something home for (favorite coworker, petsitter, neighbor)! They also sell containers of Rhode Island sea salt. I picked this up for a candy making friend of mine!

Such great toffee --and it's local!! Tried some then picked some up at their retail store on the Wharf in Newport. Sooo delicious! The toffee is creamy and buttery with the right snap to it. It has a good balance of nuts, chocolate and toffee to make your mouth sing. I picked up for Valentine's Day then went back for more. Sooo delicious! Eat Local!!

I am not much of a fan of toffee but the quality of the one we bought on this pace is superb. Organized store and friendly staff.

This a hidden gem and a MUST visit, everytime we visit Newport, Rhode Island. The customer Service…read moreis always top-notch. The lobster are always fresh and delicious. Their prices are very affordable and comparable to anyplace serving fresh lobsters. We had fish, fries, calamari and lobster of course! This is our second visit to this location, first time was 2015. Yes indeed I shall return in the near future. They have plenty of seating outside. They ship to your home as well or you can purchase by the pound to take home.

I came here on the recommendation of locals and Uber drivers who believe this is a top tier spot…read morefor lobster roll. Ambiance: 5/5 This is a true lobster shack -- picnic tables overlooking a harbor with a view of some beautiful boats. It's not pretending to be anything fancy, and that's exactly the point. For what it is, it's five out of five. Super unique. Service: 4/5 Super quick and reliable. You're not getting much interaction here -- you say what you want and you get your food. That's the nature of the place, and they do it well. Food: 4/5 Let me focus on the lobster roll since that's what this place is known for. I got the 6oz lobster roll for $32, and honestly, shockingly good bang for your buck in Newport. Of all the lobster rolls I've had in the area, this was one of the better deals for the amount of meat you get. Now, the lobster itself is served cold with celery. On a hot day it works, and the meat is fresh and tasty. But as someone who loves warm lobster soaked in butter, it wasn't exactly my style. Personal preference, but worth noting. The real dinger here is the bun. I expect a high quality, buttered, toasted bun with a lobster roll -- and what I got was closer to a cheap hot dog bun that wasn't really toasted or buttered. And listen, the bun is half the battle. Think about a great Philly cheesesteak -- the roll makes it. A subpar bun can really drag down an otherwise solid lobster roll, and that's exactly what happened here. Also got the coleslaw, and it was just not good. Probably one of the least tasty coleslaws I've had in a while, and I usually love coleslaw. Overall: 4/5 Newport Lobster Shack gives you exactly what it promises -- quaint vibes, great harbor views, fresh lobster, and a true shack experience. The lobster meat is fresh and abundant and the value is solid for Newport. But on my hunt for the best lobster roll in Newport, this isn't it.
