I feel like their behavior is dishonest misleading and indicating a lack of integrity. The first time I join for one month trial they had a new year promotion so I join Jan 06 and immediately they charge me extra , after calling the front desk few times , they said the promotion was over yesterday (they forgot to mention it when I signed in ) , I talked with Luz (one of the managers )and she agreed to return the extra fees and I asked to cancel the membership at the spot . I didn't see the refund and after calling again , they said it's a credit for next month , I said again , I don't want to be here another month , please cancel my membership, they said yes and now they charge me again . I needed to send them email just to confirm the call and they still charge me again I spend so many hour talking with them about the issue and then like nothing happens. I was there 3 times and for charge over $300 already . Such a rip off If u decide to join them , take a lawyer with u because they will nail you with secret charges all over the place . Very disappointing

Pulled up to The Hub Sports Club in Alameda and honestly... this place is solid…read more Came through with my guy Nate to check it out, get some runs in, and shoot a little content. Right away you can tell this place is well run. The energy is welcoming, the staff actually cares, and the community vibe is real -- competitive but still friendly. Pickleball-wise, it's stacked. 8 indoor courts that are clean, permanent, and play great, plus 7 outdoor courts if you want fresh air. Runs are organized, people know how to play, and they're always hosting tournaments and competitive events, which I really appreciate as someone who plays a lot. Outside of pickleball, the gym setup is legit. Full cardio and strength equipment, unlimited group classes like yoga, barre, and more. Locker rooms are clean, with showers, sauna, and steam room -- clutch after long sessions. Pro shop is fully stocked and the staff is always down to help with gear or questions without being pushy. Small thing but funny -- they even added a ping pong table, which kinda says everything about the vibe here. Functional, fun, and community-first. If you're in the Bay and serious about pickleball, fitness, or just want a spot that's run right with good people, The Hub Alameda is definitely worth checking out. I'll be back for sure.

I have a confession to make. I egregiously violate a stereotype of my ethnicity. Dancing is not…read moreamong my natural talents. During my first dance class in my senior year of college I did 16 hours of extra credit, including mopping behind the good dancers, to get a B-. Yes, a B-. That did not look good on graduate school applications. I was not good at standing. That is not a typo. When I stood up with my weight toward my larger toes I fell on my face. Although I admired, and enjoyed dancing I could never do it or aerobics or any choreography set to music. Then, in 2008, I met Eduardo! I had heard of Zumba. I even had a Zumba video. Actually, I had two of them and couldn't follow them. I took Eduardo's class and I could follow it. It took practice but I could do it. Why could I do it? 1. Eduardo explains what you will be doing with each song 2. Then, he demonstrates after the description 3. Instead of just standing at the front of the class he makes it ALL the way around the classroom, studio or gym (yes, I said gym the man can cover an entire basketball court) to help, you praise you, or have fun with you. Oh, and make no mistake, if you don't do it right the first time he will invite you to do it over. 4. He phases routines in and out slowly. Sometimes, he brings older songs back. 5. Regardless of your fitness level, you leave his class with a good, thorough workout and cool down as well as basic instruction on what to eat to recover. He works you hard and you see results. You will enjoy getting those results. You will want to follow Eduardo wherever he goes for fitness instruction.

Moving Eduardo's zumba classes to the Alameda Mariner's Square Athletic Club is a nice space--but…read moreprobably somewhat deceptive to Eduardo's old exercise crowd--- or anyone from outside who wants to try out the class. You probably thought you couldn't go anymore because the classes are now inside a private club or you would have to join it. WRONG! Guys and gals--you can still come to class and get a punch card like you used at Just Dance Ballroom, and you do NOT have to be a member of the club. So if you've been thinking of doing a fun, challenging (more challenging than regular zumba), latin-based, cardio dance class, please do not let the huge scary stop sign at the entrance stop you. Just go straight up the stairs to the right to the dance room. And do not be intimidated by the choreography, especially your first time. If you get a few basic repeated moves down, you will be able to sweat your little heart out and get a good workout after a few sessions--which is the whole point. I can do my 5 mile run once a week, but this is still the most productive hour in my week. I cross two tunnels each time to get here, and it's more than worth it. Eduardo is still after all these years, the best zumba around the bay.

Nate works you as hard as you can take, which is always past what you expect! He has pushed my limits but always kept me safe, with complete respect for my health challenges. Nate builds you up from wherever you're at, and makes you into more than what you thought you could be.

I am new to joining a gym and as a senior, I hoped for a positive outcome, and not feel intimidated or like I "didn't belong" I felt very welcome, I've taken a few classes that have been beneficial for me. One is for posture & strengthening. The instructor is fabulous, knowledgeable and makes our workouts fun. I thoroughly enjoined a class called "just breathe" very relaxing and uses the "Alexander Technique" but now the wonderful instructor is on maternity leave and we look forward to her return. There is currently a sub but I haven't had a chance to go back. I'm learning to use the equipment at my own pace. There are several rooms with different equipment and I never feel pressured by someone else needing the one I may be using. I bring my own container of disinfectant wipes, since not everyone is conscientious about wiping their equipment after they're done using it. And I'm fine with using my own, even though each room does provide a spray bottle and small towels are available at the front desk. I bring my own mat to the classes, but they have them at the front desk if you need to borrow one. The best for me personally is the use of the indoor pool ! I have never enjoyed using a pool anywhere until I joined this gym. I've tried two different classes. One is Gentle Aqua & another one is Aqua Cardio. Both instructors have different times depending on the day of the week . Both ladies are fabulous! The hours suit my needs perfectly. The ladies locker room is always immaculate. Shout out to Maria who is there Monday - Friday She keeps the locker room, freshly clean, always wiping down the wet floors as we come back from using the pool. She is very kind and welcoming, and we appreciate her so much! And lastly, the Manager, Edward was very kind and welcoming. He gave me a nice tour of the gym. I was a bit uncertain that joining a gym was the right thing for me to do. He gave me information on trainers that they work with to help me along with my journey. My friend and I joined together & we are pleased with our decision to join. He remembers our names and greets us personally every time we see him. Overall we recommend this facility, especially as a Senior citizen, we truly feel we belong

She insisted I leave immediately and did not give me even a few minutes to get dressed in privacy. I felt my personal space was completely ignored, and her behavior came across as aggressive and disrespectful. My personal items were also handled carelessly and ended up on the floor, which made the situation even worse. When I tried to address the issue, the manager, Fox Memon, was not helpful at all. Instead of listening or showing any understanding, he defended the staff and tried to shift the blame onto me. He even threatened to report me to their insurance company because I had my child with me--something I was never informed was against their rules. I only come once or twice a month, and no one has ever explained this policy before. Because I felt unsafe and disrespected, I reported the incident to the Alameda Police Department so there would be official documentation of what happened. Based on how he handled everything, I honestly feel that Fox Memon does not suit a manager position, as his response made the situation even more stressful instead of resolving it professionally. Overall, I left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and unsupported. I do not recommend this place and hope they seriously improve how they treat their customers.
