I searched around for a local moving company, speaking with friends and reading reviews. Anchor Moving seemed to be the most professional despite the reviews on Yelp. Evan Rabas was the Anchor representative, and I recalled his name as he is was a professional golf champion in a past life. He was very helpful and Anchor's prices were no higher than the other companies in town. The move went well, and the movers were professional and careful. I've used Anchor Moving twice previously and was very happy with their service and decided to use them for a third time. Unfortunately the third time was not the same. Evan , their salesperson, was 100 percent confident that movers would be able to navigate the stairs and furniture pieces would fit. He was absolutely wrong and the movers told me he has put them in this precarious position many times to close the deal. He never apologised for being wrong and simply didn't care that he provided a bad estimate. In addition, the movers didn't prep new location as well as furniture completely. It rained heavily that day and they didn't prep house completely to ensure it didn't get destroyed. They would not provide any discounts for the poor service and demanded 100 percent payment, even though they broke a furniture piece, lost some bed frame hardware during the move, and caused some water damage to cushions and sofas. They ultimately fixed furniture piece via a 3rd party and replaced the lost hardware and was happy with result. However, I needed to pay out of pocket for cleaning the cushions that had water damage on them. I had to work with one of their employees, Suzie Mathews. She was extremely difficult to work with and provided a poor level of customer service. She didn't really care about my customer experience and basically wanted me to go away and collect my check. I do not recommend Anchor. They have gone through some changes internally and from my perspective, just care about the sale not their customers. Instead of listening to their customers, they would like to tell customers they are wrong, disparage their character/family and argue with them. I don't think that is a successful long term business strategy. read more

The fellow who packed delicate items did a great job. Tiny figurines arrived intact. Unfortunately, the other two haulers were reckless. (See photos of chair that arrived in 2 pieces, dresser that arrived in 3 pieces (besides drawers), DR table reassembled incorrectly, and new shirt that I didn't even pack!) Finally, Anchor provided used wardrobe boxes - and one of them had a shirt in the bottom! I hope the previous customer doesn't miss her shirt! read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would. When moving out of my rental home, they damaged the drywall (hole in it), did not bring the necessary tools for basic furniture disassembly, and then temporarily lost the legs to my sofa. Took twice as long as my previous movers. Guys spent a lot of time on their phones. I paid a small fortune for storage and they were difficult about my move out date and then lost and damaged multiple expensive items. They were mostly non-responsive to queries and when they did locate an antique cabinet of mine, they sent it to me completely broken with no apology or offer of compensation. Multiple items were broken. They did not have a record of my items (I'm told that's illegal in WI). I got so frustrated that I sent a certified letter from my lawyer asking for compensation to which they NEVER RESPONDED!!! DO yourself A FAVOR and USE ANYONE ELSE!!!!! read more

This company was very professional and caring! Prompt and clean employees. All of our belongings were delivered on time with nothing missing or broken. The delivery employees were very sweet and put everything where we needed it. They went over and above. Moving is very stressful, but Anchor made it much less stressful! Thank you! read more

I used Anchor for a move from Milwaukee to Denver during pandemic, based off my experience AVOID at all costs. If looking for professional, reliable, honest movers look elsewhere, First took sweet time to transit my move, was fine was not in a rush to get boxes, but suddenly contacted me and told me in 2 days boxes would arrive, told them was out of town not available, they told me was my issue and if move needed to be pushed back would be at my expense, i think anyone rationally understands this is not acceptable. Next upon opening boxes discovered at least 3 paintings never made it 100% LOST, team totally showed no empathy, took zero responsibility, did an internal "audit" to quickly tell me no issues with move, i have no reason to fabricate a lie, the paintings were lost and never delivered, owner contacted me after I had to elevate to him, told me would "be willing" to have a conversation, but only if i pulled any negative reviews, I dont think that is how customer service works in 2021, I am also aware they lost other boxes on that truck for other clients, they sent me an email asking if had found someone elses property. They gave us a guaranteed delivery date and only half our contents came. It's been about 4 weeks and still don't have all of our contents. Horrible communication, with know reimbursement or compensation for there inability to deliver on time. Will never recommend this moving company. Look elsewhere!! read more

They stored out stuff for over a month, then Tim, Bryan and Ryan delivered it in the same condition as it left. Suzie was the perfect rep--responsive, efficient, an all-around great person. Our move was awesome. We had Dennis and Carl and they were kind, friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable about moving our antiques and furniture. Everything went smoothly no items damaged. Okay, so....I totally understand that no business wants a poor review made public, but for the poorly reviewed business to respond with half-truths, and some assertions that are total fabrications, I'll address this, but for the sake of a 'he said -she said' thing, it's the last time I'll comment, for as of now, I've moved on (pun intended). This poster (oddly, at no time did I EVER interact with a William F; only a female) states I never questioned the initial estimate when indeed I did! I really wish there was a way to post attachments to email correspondence here, and screen shots of PDF files with the items clearly listed, as I kept meticulous records. I told them their estimate was awfully high, considering my move almost four years prior (exact same items, with FOUR movers, not two) took about five hours with the total fee approximately $500. But that particular moving company charged by the item, not by the hour, which explain why that move came in at around FIVE hours, where for this one, I was billed for approximately 11 hours. But why rush, right? The poster goes on to say that I added 27 furniture pieces to the 20 set forth in the original estimate, then sent an email with "six more". This is laughable. I moved from a 1400 square foot condo to another condo that was slightly SMALLER! What the poster is doing here is including, say...five table lamps as five separate pieces of furniture, or packed box (the size of a case of wine) as an item. I have to say, that's a creative inventory technique, but awfully misleading. Regarding movement of furniture items, nothing was EVER covered until it was loaded and packed tightly onto the truck. Furniture cushions were tossed (unwrapped) onto the back of the truck by one guy, and picked up by the other. If one of the movers wasn't there to take them, I spotted (unwrapped) sofa cushions laying on the driveway at the destination. How would the poster imagine they got there?? To the parts where my initial concerns over [their] moving techniques of expensive furniture is viewed as "surliness" and "not very nice", I'll just say that the poster was not present, but is relying here on what his employees have told him when confronted with a negative review of their work, so those observations could be viewed as a defense mechanism. Regarding the part where later I'm accused of screaming at them and calling them names?? That type of allegation just reeks of desperation, to which I'll simply reply: "pants on fire". And finally, this posters recollection of bill payment is slightly skewed too, and makes no mention of their several-day delay in its $50 adjustment. They are correct that the bill was not paid the day of the move, due to the dispute, but it WAS paid within two weeks of receiving the updated bill nearly two weeks after the dispute arose. As for my review being written six weeks after the event? I can assure the reader that although I may be middle-aged, my memory is still VERY much intact. read more

The worst mover ever. Hired by Resoration Hardware to deliver high end and expensive furntiure. Dont show up on time (4 hours late). Call 4 times to get directions. Dont call when running late. Don't know how to put together what they deliver. Have had mutliple issues with them including gauging the wall of my brand new house. leaving without installed the legs on a huge dresser that weighs a ton. Incredible. Items that they "expertly packed" we're broken, our new house has at least 4 areas with big divits in the wall from being banged in to, moved boxes in just wherever....meaning then WE had to try and get several huge boxes down or up stairs since they didn't care to ask. Then when contacted Chris in management she doesn't seem to care And doesn't return phone calls. Ugh, no thanks...with so many other companies I urge you to look elsewhere. read more

We hired them for a large cross country move that involved keeping items for home delivery separate from items for 6 month storage. They were timely, personable, professional, and everything went smoothly. Everything got to where it needed to go and in tact. They stored our things for a reasonable price and came 6 months later to our rental home to move all of our things into the home we purchased. We would definitely recommend them. read more

Worse experience ever. Packers came, one kept talking and talking and was all over the place. Then the next day the driver Came to apartment complex in an18 wheeler. We relocated several states away. So I understand there were to be other households on the truck. It took a few days, but not a problem with that. We stayed in a hotel until our furniture came. The driver was actually a day early ! The driver showed up in a U Haul because he had to park his huge moving truck to load our items onto a U Haul truck to transfer to our place. Our new place is in a huge Metro city and I had to stand by the truck while husband was helping the driver. YES ! The driver. Driver finally called a couple of guys. We have had huge divots on the walls and paint scraped and wood chipped off tables. Did we notice this right away ? Of course not. Who really does ? There is a missing box . My husband contacted the company because originally it was because there were several of his items that were missing. and they told him, it is out of their hands if we don't have a box number. Since that happened I realized that same box has family mementos from the 1800's. Can't put a price on that. My father came to the Unitied States through Ellis Island.so these documents and such are priceless. All I want are my items. We chose this company because we thought they specialize in clergy moves. So an honest company ! Well, ( cough cough). They sure were quick in taking clergy money . Perhaps I will try again to try to get info about the whereabouts of that box because obviously the company doesn't give a rip. read more

Amazing moving company! When they arrived we weren't finished packing so they jumped right in and helped us finish getting everything packed up. The men were really very nice, I'm seven months pregnant and they made sure that the last thing they loaded was a black roll chair just incase I needed to sit down and rest! They loaded the truck fast and got us moved into our new office in no time at all, and nothing was damaged during the move. This was one of the best moving experiences I've ever had and will definitely use Anchor Moving again. read more
