The brisket sandwich was outstanding: certified Angus beef cooked low and slow, seasoned with their Texas-style rub, sliced thick, and stacked high on grilled Texas toast. Very satisfying. For drinks, we had a couple Hazy Fox IPAs and two Huckleberry Lemonades that were on special for $5, which were a fun and refreshing choice. The sides were just as impressive. My family ordered the 50/50 bowl with half mac & cheese and half cowboy beans which was outstanding. The cowboy beans were especially packed with flavor. We also tried the fried okra and potato salad. The okra was amazing; crispy and delicious. The potato salad was just okay for me and a little bland, but I'm from the north, so I know everyone makes potato salad differently depending on the region. When someone comes into here, they have to look at the menu upfront and order at the counter, find a seat of their choice and fill their drink and then it goes from there. Pretty simple. Floyd's seems to be a Stubborn soda fan, which I approve of. The man at the counter actually recommended the breadsticks, and now I realize that the pizza isn't enough to fill me or most anybody. It's mostly an at-the-counter style service, except they bring the food to you. Inside was great. The entrance is a little tight, but there's two sides of the restaurant and I sat down in the right side from the door, so I can't say about the left side. One of my favorite things inside was the drink machine had those levers on it, it just felt much better to pull that for drinks than pushing a button. Overall, Floyd's is a great place to eat for everyone. The food is good, the service is great, and inside is comfy and wooden. There was plenty of tables inside and outside the restaurant though! TVs were situated throughout the restaurant. There was a variety of sports games playing. When we sat at our table, the team member brought over menus and asked if we'd like anything to drink while we looked through the menu. She also went through any dietary restrictions and some of their highlights at the restaurant, specifically, Smoke & Fire is known for their blueberry chicken sandwich. There are other options on their menu though, like BBQ items! Meat platters: Pulled Chicken, Pulled Pork, Brisket, Smoked Ribs, Hot Links, smoked Chicken Quarters. My husband however is often found with a disposable cup of some sort and a plastic lid and plastic straw in his hand, filled with a sugary liquid beverage. He's one soda away from bleeding Coca Cola. At least when we're at home our Soda Stream lessens his environmental impact and he'll make soda at the house in refillable bottles. But on the road... we often stop and pay $2.75 for a Coke. Like we did here at the BBQ joint! The loaded baked potato sounded really, really good and I'd seen a couple people walk away with one - they looked loaded all right! But I just wasn't hungry enough to eat this on my own, and we have a hard time sharing food due to different likes. I'd like my potato covered in mustard and hot sauce. He'd like his potato covered in sour cream. Too hard to share food! The cashier was really friendly. We talked with her for a while and she said she'd been an employee a long time and enjoyed her job and the company she worked for. That's always wonderful to hear! We had no idea there was a BBQ place right there but once we realized we decided to head over and I am really glad we did. So we ended up dining at Rick's Rollin Smoke BBQ and Tavern, which is right across the way from the Pawn Stars pawn shop. It was a great experience from the start. We got there just before the rush which worked out perfectly. The staff was friendly and everything came out quickly. The food was excellent. The cornbread was really good and buttery, the collard greens were excellent, and the beans were also superb. The barbecue chicken and ribs were great as well. Everything was just really, really, really excellent. The barbecue sauce was fantastic too with both spicy and mild options. Overall just a really great experience. Next time we are back in Vegas we will definitely be stopping by again. If you are visiting the Pawn Stars shop do yourself a favor and walk right across to this BBQ spot. You will not be disappointed. Shucks, we forgot to get their Peach Cobbler!!!
