Golden Croissant is a small mom and pop shop located in Nederland,Texas. They are owned by a…read moreVietnamese family and offer a variety of croissants, sandwiches, cookies, and drinks. The inside has been renovated pretty recently, and it is a small and quaint shop. The staff is always nice, and everything is priced at an affordable level. I usually come here for lunch. When you order a sandwich, you also get chips, as well. I also like to try their soup of the days, and my favorite is the cream of broccoli. Their cookies are my favorite thing they have to offer. I believe it is their specialty. They are really consistent, made fresh, and soft in the inside. I have tried almost every single flavor and each one has been good. I have also tried their cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk) a few times, and personally it is not my favorite. It is very dark even with the condensed milk, and I feel like there is something missing. I have had better cà phê sữa đá and prefer the ones my aunt makes at home more. Overall, Golden Croissant is a cute place to grab a small lunch. I think it is one of my favorite places in this small town and has a lot to offer for a good price. I definitely recommmed getting a sprinkle cookie or two when coming here!

The first thing that came to mind is CRAZY GOOD!!!! Don't buy just one, you'll regret it if you do. This is the first time I remembered to take a picture before I started eating, otherwise there would have been No Picture. Could it be that I'm learning Self Control? FAT CHANCE, RULE THAT OUT! Once you start eating it, there's no stopping! You'll eat it until you hurt. That said, don't buy just one. You'll regret it! Great little spot out here…read more I stppped by just passing through town and figured I would check it out. Seems like the coffee, ice cream and pastries are the forefront. Tried a cupcake. Very good. Very simple. Not trying to recreate the wheel of cupcakes with elaborate flavors and decorations. Best part about this place (maybe not this locations) but it's been around since before WW2. If this establishment can be around that long they gotta be doing something right.

I will never return to this place.

*Update* Nearly one year ago I visited this store as I annually do when I come in for the holidays…read moreand it needed much attention.. but oh how they have changed in a year! I was in recently on my annual trip and needed to stock up on all great Cajun products and meats.. and low and behold.. the revamp of the store was completed. The store front has a new modern face lift that will be bound to survive the next seasons hurricanes. The parking lot lights and area are well lit and open. The overall front area of the store has a great inviting presence. As you enter the store, they have changed the lighting and the walking flow so that you can easily get what you need without clutter and they used clearly posted signs and markings for specials. As to the classic memory of the store, they have kept all of the check out stations just as you have always known them. The baskets as well and the Managers station is still elevated and visible by everyone.. so you know where to find them if you need to. The meat counter area is brightly lit and always providing fresh choice cuts. Overall, the service has improved as well. I simply walked down any aisle and I was always greeted and directed to where I needed to find something. Sometimes, the best stores have the best employees.. and this is a family heritage that covers every generation. Bruce's is a neighborhood staple. It has survived and updated with the times. I am pleased that they finally were able to complete the renovations and stay off the weather of time and be around for future generations.
