A beautiful studio that has changed my life. I began practicing yoga here and loved it so much…read morethat after a few years pursued my teacher training and now I am able to offer classes. You can feel how special the studio is on the first visit. Shawn has created a space that anyone at any level can benefit from. The yoga that is offered is much more than the postures. There is a mindfulness that is encouraged in all of the classes that helps you connect with yourself in a new way. Also the focus on meditation has been so helpful for reflecting on how I interact with the world around me. If you want to have a complete yoga experience this is the studio for you.

I know Yoga isn't supposed to be about the other people in the room, but I feel inferior at some of the super hippy studios around me. This is NOT the case at Mudita Yoga Center in Ktown. Shawn runs a very special Yoga studio. Mudita Yoga is a non-branded, non judgmental, safe and inclusive place to practice. Her classes are original and engaging. Shawn is a compassionate and encouraging teacher with a keen focus that makes me feel like she's paying attention to Me! If you go early in the AM you can do early morning meditation and get a morning Fire Ceremony. the workshops at Mudita are also totally awesome. Their philosophy makes it possible & enjoyable for EVERYONE to practice, no matter what the skill level or your outfit. Ohhhhhhmmmmm!

Thank you very much to all of the teachers and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to give us a space for relaxation and training. The teachers at DDRC are monastics from Asia or trained lay practitioners who are experienced in using English to instruct western students. The design of their retreats are comfortable and forgiving while still providing adequate intensity to challenge and inspire growth. (Note for those familiar with meditation: the Chan school from which DDRC issues relentlessly focuses on meditative methods and the usage of the mind, and less on formal strictures and conventions. If you are familiar with retreats in the Zen style, you will probably adjust to the Chan approach quite quickly.) The facilities, especially the meditation hall, are beautiful and modern. The retreat center is located in the tranquil embrace of nature where one normally hears nothing but birdsong and the sound of flowing water, though it is still easily accessible by car. Highly recommended for both those new to meditation and advanced practitioners looking to go deeper.
