WORST experience with an auto repair shop IN MY LIFE…read more
Can TOTALLY CONFIRM the other 1 star review experiences here...
Needed to have my father's car repaired. Was told initially that it should be no big deal to get it running well. So, we got the car to their shop and THERE IT SAT for AT LEAST 2 WEEKS before it was even brought in the shop and looked at.
Virtually every time I called their business for a progress report (which was not often, maybe once a week) the owner Rich replied w/ a very rude and condescending demeanor. Basically, the impression was, that he was doing me a favor by even talking to me.
After the first 2 calls, it got to the point that actually dreaded having to speak to the guy.
So, about 4 WEEKS into this ordeal, (no, I'm not joking) work FINALLY commences on the car. (glad this car was not my dad's primary and / or only vehicle)
Am told that certain parts will need to be replaced and / or rebuilt and it will take at least a month to resume work on the car. Was able to shorten this time estimate drastically, but NOT w/out MY OWN PERSONAL RESEARCH AND HELP. (lot more I could say here but, trying to keep this on point)
Anyways, the bottom line is, they had the car FOR AT LEAST 2 MONTHS (probably longer if I recall) did a bunch of work that IN NO WAY improved the mechanical performance of the car (other than to say, it was running when they were done...sort of) But NOWHERE NEAR what I would classify as mechanically sound and reliable (which is what I initially asked for, and was told was possible)
So finally, in the end, I basically ended up wasting around $1500.00 to get a car back that basically, ran no better than it did before it was brought to them....along w/ a heavy side-order of sarcastic, aggressive attitude. (I know I could've got the same results on my own w/ not much effort and a LOT less money if had the proper tools, time, health and energy to work on it myself)
When I went to pick up the car, Rich basically sarcastically and aggressively back-peddled about the car's current condition and didn't even bother to acknowledge what he initially told me the first time we spoke. At this point, I just wanted to get my dad's car off his lot before he threatened to have it towed off or maybe even intentionally sabotaged out of pure spite. (which I seriously believe would've been his intention if I pressed the matter further) Also, it needs to be pointed out here, that every time I initiated verbal contact w/ him (mostly begrudgingly) I always tried to be polite and friendly. (after a while, you'll never know how hard it was to maintain this persona when dealing w/ him but, what choice did I have?)
In closing, all I can say is if you need vehicle repairs BEWARE of West Hill Auto. I strongly suspect the owner plays favorites when it comes to customers, and if you're not in that inner-circle...WATCH OUT. Because based on my own personal experience and the majority of other reviews here, odds are strong that you'll be treated rudely and end up w/ a vehicle that's no better off, than if you'd not brought it to them at all....maybe even worse.
I know I wouldn't recommend W.H.A. to my worst enemy and I'll never take another vehicle to them for repairs and wouldn't trust them to work on a Chinese-made Walmart bicycle...let alone a car.
And chances are, by the time you actually get your car back, you won't be needing it anymore because we'll all be piloting flying cars by then.
