Fun experience! Our group of four sat indoors - great lunch and tasting experience. Friendly service.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to stop by Anaba for some wine tasting. The tasting room isn't huge, but it was cozy and inviting. I enjoyed sitting at one of the bar tables sipping the wine while munching on breadsticks. Each tasting included 6 wines for $15 (one tasting can be waived with the purchase of two bottles). The person pouring our wines was friendly and informative, and he even poured a couple of other wines that weren't part of the tasting. We ended up purchasing bottles of the 2013 pinot noir and petite sirah, and they were nice enough to waive both of our tastings. We had the bottles shipped since we had no room in our luggage for the flight home, and we received them just a few days later. This place is definitely worth checking out--tasty wines and good service! read more

The wines were okay and the food tasted okay. Mostly the issue was with poor and rude service. The food was also incredibly overpriced and made for a bad experience. Would have loved to experience kinder staff and more reasonable portions. It was $15 for about 12 sweet potato fries!! read more

Anaba is a cute little place that we've passed by so many times but never had a chance to try. This past weekend, I made sure it was on the itinerary! The folks were super nice and we got a lovely seat on the patio. It's a little loud since it's by a main street, but that only makes me frown at the motorcycles and diesel cars going by. The good news is that the wines are pleasant and help you drown out the sound. If you haven't had it before, you must try the white port here. Pro tip: With the yelp checkin, the tasting is only $5 per person. Can't beat the value! read more

Cutest young (23 yo) hostess in 30 wineries we visited. Very pleasantly surprised when she started to present information about each wine and discussing the tasting notes. Whoa! this young lady knows her wines. Good line up of whites and reds. You can find something you like here at a cost you can enjoy as well. It really was all about the ports for us. Aero Port white and red. OUTSTANDING. Stop here. It is small and comfortable. read more

A hidden gem! Don't let the unpaved parking lot fooled ya! This little house is cozy warm and the service was spectacular! Our group stumbled across this cute little tasting room on our way back home. When we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the 3 servers there. We were asked if we wanted to sit at the table (only round table in its tasting room that seats 4. They did have a few chairs along the other wall). Heck yes! Sitting during a causal $10 wine tasting is like VIP status! By the way, tastings are 50% off with a Yelp Check-in. We thought we would get up after our first rounds to the bar to get our second pour..but nope! Buck, our server came to us and did so subsequently every time right when we were done with our glass. The timing was impeccable. He even gave us 2 bonus pours! We were a huge fan of the Pinot Noir and bought 2 bottles. We were also quite intrigued by the RED AERO PORT, a fortified wine and bought 2 bottles of those as well! A good day in Sonoma. read more

Anaba was a great place to start out our wine tasting day! AMBIANCE: I feel like the aesthetic at Anaba is every lifestyle blogger's dream. It totally has the charming rustic feel to it-- lots of wood, mason jars, and succulents. The location is absolutely gorgeous, with a lovely field + mountain backdrop. We went wine tasting at the end of January, and it was admittedly, chilly outside. They do have heat lamps to try to keep you warm, but they weren't warm enough to prevent us from running back to the car to get our extra layers. TASTINGS: There is an indoor tasting room and outdoor tasting space as well. Remember to make a reservation! We had a reservation for 12pm on a Saturday for 10-ish people, and as we continued to sit, the place got progressively more and more filled up. We paid $15 for the tasting with six wines (3 whites, 2 reds, and a port), but we got lucky and our pourer threw in an extra wine for us as well, which was really nice. The wines come with pretty extensive descriptions. When the chardonnay and pinot noir were poured for us, our pourer brought an extra sheet describing all their chardonnays and pinot noirs-- not just the ones that we were tasting. Anaba is definitely a little bit more of a boutique winery, and they don't produce that many bottles per year, but they clearly have been successful at what they do. From their tasting menu, it seems like they specialize in chardonnays and pinot noirs. tl;dr: Very cute winery-- definitely worth a stop to check out! read more

We had the best time ever at Anaba and it's all thanks to Carlos!!! Such a fun experience and would love to come back!

My friends and I randomly selected this place on Yelp because of the inexpensive tasting price. Woohoo, what a great decision! The wine tasting here is only $10, and with a Yelp check-in, it's 50% off! When I showed the owner my check-in offer for my individual payment, he insisted on applying it for my entire group -- little acts like this go a long way in contributing to a great overall experience. The wines themselves were great (though I can't exactly call myself a wine connoisseur). My favorite was the red aero port -- so sweet, red, and rich that we ended up buying a bottle. The workers were incredibly friendly and informative, too! We were supposed to try about 6 wines, but ended up trying 8 because they gave us a couple extras. Inside, the atmosphere is cozy and intimate. If it's a warm sunny day, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside by the glass wall. Since we didn't make a reservation, they didn't have a table available for our group of 6, but the workers were really kind and told us they could combine two smaller tables so we could sit down. It was incredibly windy that day, but fortunately the glass wall blocked the majority of the wind. With a cute gravel parking lot and an unassuming exterior, Anaba is a surprisingly great find in Sonoma. I'd definitely recommend Anaba for anyone looking for a small casual tasting! read more

A simple and very enjoyable tasting experience, I was glad I had a chance to squeeze in a relatively quick visit here prior to my other stops in Sonoma County. The server did a great job of managing the multitudes of groups coming over to the tasting bar and was kind enough to pour me a couple extra reds that turned out to be top notch. In addition to estate grown grape, Anaba sources fruit from all over Sonoma County and even as far as the Santa Lucia Highlands down by Monterey. My favorite of the vineyard designated pinots was from there and I was also thoroughly impressed with the syrah. On a nice day, definitely opt to have a seat in the outdoor patio with a great view of the surrounding acres. read more

This place has great wines! Head here before you head into Sonoma square. I've been here twice, and both times they were absolutely amazing. First time, there was 6 of us, it was crowded. And they offered their private tasting room to allow for space! Amazing. Pretty sure there's usually a few for that. Second time, we sat outside and they turned on the Heat lamps to stare into the vineyards. Buck was our guy this time and he was a great host and very knowledgeable. This winter 2016, we tried light white blend, two chardonnays, two pinots, port and if your nice, whatever bottle that happens to be open. This is a small cute winery tasting room, but there's a deck and a fireplace! What more could you ask for when Everyone that works there is nice. Tip: they are one of the few that actually know how to ship to philly, now that the law has passed. Well worth it. read more

My proudest moment in wine tasting was at Anaba. I like to taste the wines before reading the descriptions to test/train my palette. I spent several minutes in silence just sniffing and sipping one of their Chardonnays trying to figure it out. It was dry with medium-ish acid but also slightly bitter - citrusy but not entirely so. Finally it hit me and I blurted out "ORANGE PEEL". To my delight those exact words were on the page, and for a moment I felt like a professional wine taster. Out of the 10 or so Sonoma/Napa wineries I've been to so far, my best experience was at Anaba. The wines they have are especially fragrant and the tasting notes were much more readily apparent. It made for a delicious and entertaining tasting session. I generally like smaller wineries for their wine tasting and educational experience (big wineries are better for pics), and Anaba was a prime example of that. Alan was the one helping us that day and he was amazing! He taught us about the history of the Carneros region, wine labels, Rhone Valley grapes, the importance of wind in wine, etc. He was never pretentious or snobby, always great about answering our questions. He let us take our time with our wines initially but then once we let him know we were in a hurry to make a lunch reservation he was always ready to go with our next wine as soon as we were ready. The pours were a good amount and the tasting includes SIX wines, the last one being a dessert wine which is awesome! Not sure if this is standard procedure, but Alan also gave us an additional taste of a Petite Sirah that he had open. So we had 7 tastes for just $10 (after the Yelp checkin deal). Definitely a great value tasting for some of the best wines I've ever had. read more

This was our first vineyard of the day and we started a little fancier. At $20 a tasting this place was pricier than the comparable options in Sonoma that usually range from $10-15. It was clear the proprietors were knowledgable and passionate about their craft. They explains to us the combination of grapes and conditions that led to the wine we were sampling and how wines suffered from each other. It was all interesting information. Given the price point of the bottles I ended up not getting any but would certainly consider a trip to Anaba again. read more

Bambi & I had a pleasant, leisurely, low key visit. Young lady pouring the tastes was engaging, happy with her job. I like Anaba wines. We tried them all. The Coriol blends are tasty and a little more distinctive than other white wine blends made by other Carneros region wineries. The Anaba Pinot Noir is soft, fruity and quaffable. I bought 2 bottles and will return for more. read more

Beautiful little winery. They're doing an excellent job in the time of COVID making everything as seamless as possible. The sommelier who walked us through our tasting was friendly and informative. Wines were on the lighter side which we really enjoyed. The pizza they had on the menu was a little overpriced but delicious. My only suggestion would be not bringing the pizza out in a box. We didn't have any leftovers so the box was a waste (although closed food containers could be a county mandate). read more

We visited Anaba on a weekend getaway trip. We were delightfully surprised to receive such personalized attention from the most amazing sommelier. Martha was incredibly passionate about winemaking, the specific climates of the area, and how to properly open up and taste each wine. For being so knowledgable, Martha made our experience so fun and enjoyable. We felt so comfortable asking her tons of questions which she patiently and enthusiastically answered. If you are lucky enough to have Martha as your wine tasting host you will never forget the experience! Came here for my mom's birthday because we had been here previously (before COVID) and loved the place. Unfortunately, the customer service was terrible. We did the Summer Solstice tasting, which consists of 4 pours of wine, and for each pour the lady that helped us would say something along the lines of "This is our *such and such wine* and you might like it or you might not, but that's why you go wine tasting". Then she would leave our table for about 20-30 minutes and we would have to wave her down if we wanted to continue our tasting and get another pour. The wine was decent, but the experience was not worth coming back for. I know COVID has slowed things down a bit in the service industry, and I understand that it made good staff hard to save, but this was next level terrible service. Save your money. Save your time. We had an excellent experience at Anaba Winey! The grounds, wine, and aero by Emily blew our expectations away. It was a great find by just googling wineries in Sonoma. We are from the Bay Area and wanted to find some new places we had never been and Anaba didn't disappoint! I'm just bummed we didn't get to taste any of the delicious snacks or wood fire pizza on the menu because we had lunch reservations. I will definitely be back and highly recommend! read more

The service here was amazing and is the reason I would come back again. May not have been crazy about the wines, but bought more from them simply because they were incredibly friendly. Located right on that traffic snarl at Arnold and Hwy 116 is the charming Anaba winery. Really lovely Rhone Style wines and a late harvest Roussane! While the wine and views are great our trip was ruined when my friend had a severe allergic reaction to their unlabeled local cheese board. We came with our friend Clint B, who is a member. We met him here on a rainy weekday. He had booked us a member's tasting and it was wonderful. We were seated in their small but nice tasting room and our host came to us to pour six different wines. I'm not a huge Chardonnay fan, but I may need to stop saying that after tying these wines. We tried two different Chardonnays and they were both excellent. Anaba is known for their Rhône wines, with good reason. We were able to try several and they were all exceptional. Our host was friendly and helpful, and provided lots of information about the winery and the wines. I know they needed the rain the day we were here, but we definitely would have loved to enjoy their beautiful and spacious patio and beautiful views. I'm sure 90% of the time, you'd be outside enjoying the mountainscape, so maybe I'll get to come back some day! read more

Wow glazed and confused what a fun experience I mean what a fun concept wine and donut pairing. We showed up first thing in the morning (we had reservations) they were great. We had a nice outdoor table on a beautiful patio next to a soothing water feature. They gave us a taste at the door to enjoy as we were taken to the table. Our host Ken was fun and poured us the 3 wines to go with the donuts. The donuts were served (3 full sized ones) and they looked great. Ken explained the process and left us to enjoy. As we finished up we asked about the ports and he offered us a small taste of each. Great experience great fun and we joined their wine club because it was such a fun place. I know now they also serve brick oven pizzas in the afternoon. One of the jewels in the Sonoma area not to miss. read more

Wines were fine. Ambience was good hence giving it 4 stars. I really liked their patio seating. The person at the counter was extremely sweet, reminded me of my grandpa. I wish he would take us through the wine tasting but we had another guy who wasn't the best. Found him a bit rude and felt he thought we knew nothing about wines (my dad's been in the wine business all his life, so he clearly knew the wines better than him at least). He clearly judged us and thought we would know nothing about wines. He later realized and poured us a glass or two extra. read more

I have always passed by this winery when I was in the area. And, finally, the inner voice told me not to pass it and to go into Anaba. It was Anaba, calling to me. This winery does mostly Pinots and Rhones, which I love. I was pleasantly surprised to have a wine with Granache Blanc, which is rarely used or grown in Sonoma County. Their white Rhone blend, Alder, was delightful. Their Pinots were ambrosia, especially the Gap Pinot. (ask for it...). Their Syrah and Petite Syrah was nice, rich, smooth all the way, without the glottal stop you get from some. Our pourer was Douglas. This moustached-Sommolier, walking encyclopedia of wine knowledge, was such a personality. He made us feel welcome and educated us, and we had a great time. Kind of an aside...this winery is wind powered. As a fan of green technologies, I appreciate their attention to this. read more

Anaba Winery is my hidden gem on Bonneau Road in Sonoma County! Last year I did the Napa barrel tasting and visited 5 really bad wineries that had either bad wines or bad customer service. I almost gave up hope, but getting a nice buzz on was my top priority. I decided to visit Anaba Winery because it was the only winery on the participating list that opened late that day. Off the bat, I feel in love with the wines and ESPECIALLY the staff. I have always been a wine snob and never gave whites or mix red a chance. Anaba's wine definitely changed my view and palette. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality of wines their winemaker Jennifer produces. I used to spend over $100 on French Sauternes until I tried Anaba's Late Harvest Viognier. Ambiance- small boutique like winery with a beautiful patio. I encourage bringing your picnic and enjoying the outside patio with tables. Fun loving place where the party is at! Wine- Wines are smooth with a lot of body and characters. These are my recommendation in order of "orgasmic in your mouth": Gap Chardonnay, Syrah, Pinot, KILLER DESSERT WINE Late Harvest Viognier , Red and White Aero Port. Staff- The staff is absolutely wonderful and amazing. I love Bill and Dwight! If you go there on the weekend, these two stud muffins will be helping you. Don't let their good looks fool you. They both are very knowledgeable when it comes to wine. Both of these guys will do everything in their power to educate you and make sure your experience at Anaba is the most unforgettable experience EVER. Being a smaller winery, I like the personal service that I get when I step through that door. They are the reason why I visit the winery 2-3 times a month from San Francisco. Don't take my words for it. Go visit Anaba on your next visit to Sonoma. Tell Bill and Dwight that Christina sent you =) BE WARNED: The pours here are really generous. Look out for the two tall palms tree out in the front! read more

I visited Anaba for the first time recently during the Holiday in Carneros event: http://tinyurl.com/ykupu9n For those of you that think Social Media doesn't draw traffic, think again. I didn't really know Anaba, and it wasn't on my initial list. However that morning, I Tweeted about the wineries where I WAS planning to stop, and got a note back from Anaba with a sad face and "No Anaba?" As a result of Anaba noticing, and replying to my tweet, I began to read up on it. Learning that Anaba was a "new winery" with"Rhone and Burgundian style wines," I appended my itinerary. I was glad I did. The facility is comfortable and non-pretentious. Everyone was friendly. And GREAT Rhone whites. Side note for you red wine only drinkers -I was one of you once -- branch out! Especially try some of the more full-bodied Rhone whites like Viognier, Roussanne, and Marsanne. I observed a lot of people skipping the whites, and remembered doing the same thing myself once, but I was glad I didn't skip these. 'Coriol' is a blend of the above 3, plus Grenache Blanc, with a wonderful, floral nose, and a good mouthfeel. Their Viognier was even better, and I bought a bottle. I also enjoyed their Sonoma Coast Pinot, and Coriol red, a Rhone blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah, Counoise, and Petire Sirah. (The latter being an 'adopted' Rhone varietal.) If you like desert wines, Anaba also makes a late harvest Viognier, and red and white ports. The tasting room staff was young, but very attentive and knowledgeable. I'd have liked to learn a bit more about the genesis of the winery, and the owners/family were supposedly lurking in the back. They should take a lesson from the Ceja's and work the visitors; stories sell wine! read more

Two stars for the ambiance and quaint little tasting room. Zero stars for their wine. This place is great if you're looking for a cozy outdoor setting (minus the traffic noise being that the tasting room is on the corner of Hwy's 116 and 121) and don't care too much about the wine....otherwise skip it. Trust me. I've been drinking wine long enough to know quality wine and this place just doesn't do it for me. Nothing I tasted was even remotely worth finishing. There's just an overall lack of quality and flavor. Not worth the time or money unfortunately. read more

We came here upon recommendation from our wonderful host at Schug Carneros. Primarily because we were looking for dessert wines and were told Anaba might have a Port or late harvest Riesling or something. When we arrived, one of the employees kind of looked like we caught her off guard. There were only 5 of us but she kind of looked at us like that was way too many people. Anyway. She sat us outside on the patio, which was lovely. We did some tasters and I was pretty impressed with one of the Pinots. So much so that I bought a bottle to go. They didn't have any dessert wines available but their other offerings were so good it didn't matter. The prices of the wine are reasonable also so you won't have to pay $60 for a bottle of wine, unless it's an exclusive or reserve or something. I was glad we stopped here. I don't think I would have ever checked it out. read more

Anaba has a great tasting room with a fantastic staff.
