I'll tell you about Jolan Gamblin, Jill Hunter and Gail Husveth first. They are great. I took their picture (which is with my review). They told me about how great it is to be a part of the Gallery and also hooked me up with another multi-media art group where I can pursue more with my art skills (yeah!) excited! What a great place! They have beautiful paintings, sculptures, and a variety of other things like jewelry and beautiful stained glass window decorations. I bought a beautiful one for myself. The shop is right next to the St Augustine pier so it's right on the beach! Awesome! What a great place to just stop by when you are at the farmer's market or getting some tan-on while enjoying the beach. You can park in the pier parking lot and look for them right next to the pavilion on the north side. A little touch and go to find, but they are tucked in right next to the water. If you really can't find them just look for the fire trucks on the street just north of the pier parking lot, follow that side road to the end, take a right and you are at the gallery. But there isn't really much parking there, so try and get a spot in the big lot. But the gallery is definitely worth the work. There is street parking or on one of the side streets and walk in. The scene is great, so it's all good. I am an Ancient City Poet and we are placing our books at the gallery for April National Poetry Month. My new book, "A While Away" is going to be there during April. Come by and check it out! They are a numbered, limited edition run of 100 and once they are gone, they're gone. It has colored photos of my artwork, photography and, of course, my poetry.

I love admiring art, especially when it is by local artists. I also try to support local artists when I travel by purchasing their work as souvenirs. This gallery is unique in my opinion. The owner is well known in the community because she is friendly with the horses that come by and feeds them carrots. I unfortunately did not have the opportunity to witness it though. The first time we visited, it was for my husband's birthday. He was eyeing the knives so I offered to buy him whichever he chose. We were educated on the craftsmanship and the leather cases that come with the knives were crafted here! We loved that! As we browsed around the gallery, I fell in love with the painting I posted a picture of. I was not in a place to spend $1500 so I planned to purchase it in the future. Our second visit here, I went directly to the spot where the painting was and it was sadly gone. I inquired and it was sold. I mean it was months later so it made sense. Fun things always happen to me so wouldn't you know, the artist was there that evening!! Paulo Jimenez provides a lot of art for this gallery and all of his work is just breathtaking! Paulo and I spoke at length regarding the painting and exchanged background stories. Paulo informed me he does commission work so he offered to work with me regarding creating another piece of NYC art. We exchanged information and he created a masterpiece for me! This gallery is worth a visit, you never know what you will find.

He had printed it on canvas -- beautiful work. He even showed me his printer -- a monster of a machine that can print up to 44" on one side and much longer on the other. I asked Joe if he would print some of my digital photos and he agreed. We picked up three last week that he had printed on canvas and mounted on wood stretchers. Beautiful workmanship. If there were any imperfections in the items delivered to me it was my work, not theirs! It was a real pleasure dealing with nice folks who do great work at a fair price. I'd give 'em six stars if I could. [Incidentally, Yelp shows their opening time to be 11:00. We found they open earlier -- maybe 09:30 or so. I mention this because parking in StAug is a nightmare and one CAN find a spot before 10:00 when the City begins charging outrageous fees for the few spaces available. Go early!]

This place was amazing! They had tons we had never heard of before (but the guy there was more than happy to tell us all about them, from old english ship painters to modern american works) and some rare pieces from artists anyone would recognize, like salador dali. The little shop is definitely set up as a small gallery, with a very interesting, ecclectic selection on display. Visiting and talking to the guy there about the art was one of the highlights of my visit to st augustine!
