This post will mostly be about my incredible massage therapist and Chinese medicine goddess: Chona…read more(like Donna with a CH). I don't think any massage by Chona is the exact same flow. She listens to your body and follows her intuition. Instead of kneading out the knots, she loosens the acupressure spots and releases tension. I also explored acupuncture with her which was a really cool experience. I always leave the spa feeling like a noodle:) I've been to the other Czar salon/spas and this is by far the most modern. I love that the spa is upstairs and away from the hustle/bustle of the salon. It is still a bit distracting because there are hair chairs/space that share a wall with the spa rooms. I guess that's just what you get for going to a spa inside a salon. I'm considering booking their acupuncture /massage special because Chona is incredible. She's been very helpful on my healing journey.

I've coming to C'zar, previously Namaste, for 5 years. I'll keep this brief because I'm known to…read moretalk too much and this could get long very quick. I've been getting my hair dyed since middle school. I'm very picky about my Latina hair texture, how it looks, how it's styled, and just... everything. I'm extra like that. However, Andrew is the ONLY HUMAN on this earth is trust with my hair (second to Papa God). My husband and I have considered moving to a different state twice in the past couple of years. When this happens, I don't think about the usual adult things like what am I going to do about my job? The dog? The house? I think.... How am I going to find someone like Andrew to do my hair? If you want someone who will tell you how it is, knows what looks good on you, and will put your hair first over his bottom line, that's Andrew. One time I considered getting a very expensive treatment done (think +$400 keratin treatment), which I'm sure he would've made good money on, and he flat out said "Bella, you don't need that. I'll do it if you really want to, but you don't need it." Absolute pleasure spending my hard earned money at C'zar. The people are amazing (so kind and funny and just human), the atmosphere is so relaxing, plus you can get hand massages and scalp massages when you get shampooed. Coming here is my little slice of Heaven!!! For reference for the pics: I always get balaye-type coloring done. Glazes in between. I come every 2-3 months ish.

I really like this place…read more I found this place sort of on accident. My regular hair dresser at the salon I normally frequented was out on maternity leave, and my hair was starting to look like someone had sprinkled Halloween spider webs through it, and I needed someone fast. I was browsing around and found decent reviews on this one, so in I went. I've been back a few times since. I want to comment on a couple things that made this place stand out to me: 1. Laura, who is the owners, is extremely nice, attentive and you can tell she is very skilled at her craft. She is realistic and accommodating, and just generally a very nice person. 2. I have long hair down to my mid-back that has been through the wringer with bleach, hot tools, chlorine and saltwater. I had originally wanted to hack it off, but she introduced me to the Olaplex treatment (I'd never heard of it before) and it took almost all signs of wear and tear out of my hair. ITS INCREDIBLE. She saved my hair. 3. I dont know what dye they use here, but I've tried to do a hot red/hot purple in the past and it never really popped. Whatever they use here POPS. REALLY pops. Next time I go in for a color, Ill be sure to post a picture. All in all, would highly recommend. Make sure you ask for the OLAPLEX!!!

I had my first visit to Hair Experts Beauty Salon on Sunday 03/03/24…read more My stylist, Laura, was warm and approachable. I requested a wolf cut, which overall turned out fantastic, except for a section that was cut too short near the top of my head. When I returned the following day, (03/ 04/ 24) Laura insisted that it was not due to any fault of her own. She suggested it had been from a previous cut or breakage from my bleached hair. However, the "breakage" was on unbleached/ unprocessed hair. I had intentions to return despite the mishap, but after today, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I'm very disappointed. :(

I'd grown up going to Linea back when I lived in Glen Ellyn, but this was my first time using their special-event-style services. I am so incredibly impressed with my stylist for the day, Brittany. My hair is barely shoulder length, yet she created a beautiful updo that suggested I had long locks. Importantly, she was very open to my feedback and was agile throughout the appointment, making sure that the updo was exactly what I wanted. I can be a bit picky.. yet Brittany kept a great, supportive attitude the whole time. Looking back on the photos from the wonderful night, I'm still astonished she made my hair look so great! Exceeded all expectations -TY Brittany!

Nope not out with old friends, not out to make new ones either or to a bar...but to the spa at Asha Salon! My visit to Asha Salon was extremely pleasant. Probably mostly due to the fact that they accommodated my last minute request for a massage. I had a gift certificate burning in my purse...and can you believe I've waited over a year to use it!? The front desk was extremely friendly and when I arrived welcomed me with an offer of tea or water. They set me up with robe and bath slippers and a locker to put all my things in. The waiting room was pleasant, with 6-8 leather club chairs, river stone walls, and Aveda fragrances abound. My massage was with Alex who did a 30 minute massage. It focused mostly on shoulders, neck and back which was completely fine with me because isn't that where most people harbor their stresses anyway? I finished the evening with a shower which was decked out with Aveda shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The shower heads were of particular interest as you had so many to choose from- regular shower head, rain head, side jets. Not sure why one would use so many different types...but it was entertaining playing around with all the options.
