This is my favorite hallmark store. I go at least once a month. The staff are friendly and helpful. I appreciate their range of items and love the clearance with all the hidden treasures. It's so easy to get a lesser quality card elsewhere but I always return here. I'd recommend them for your gift needs. read more

I've been going to this store for roughly 8 years. I think the employees have gotten older and less pleasant each passing year. Between hearing nasty comments about a new employee on the floor to hearing the nasty tone they have when they answer the phone to the attitude I received when they were ringing up my purchase. I think I'll just go somewhere else until the manager figures out these old ladies are possibly costing them younger, more pleasant staff and more business. I've shopped here for years. It's a bit out of the way for me but I go visit to take advantage of the after-Christmas sales each year. I've always had a great experience here. There seem to be quite a few different salespeople but they are each nice and helpful. I always find awesome treasures here. When I've called to check if an item is in stock I'm always treated with outstanding customer service. Love, Love these stores but I had a pretty bad experience with staff here in November and haven't gone back since sadly or ordered online from them. I was followed most of my time in the store, was ignored when i asked a question and when i repeated myself got a mean/rude response. Having social anxiety also doesn't help at all. I also waited for over 20 minutes in line with one single person ahead of me.. She and the cashier just stood their chatting away for ages. I ended up dumping my stuff on a shelf and leaving. read more

I completely forgot that this Hallmark was located in Universal City until one day my friend told me about a sale. I've been visiting this place for 2 years now and I don't know why I havent written a review. The service is always wonderful. They make you feel like family. The collectable ornaments come out starting in july and is slowly released until November. I do enjoy looking at all the ornaments. My children enjoy visiting this store and seeing all the wonderful collectables and sometimes we buy a few. I do like the Hallmark Wrapping paper. It is very nice and strong. I always tend to buy a roll or two every now and then. Looking for a last minute gift well sometimes coming here will give you some cute ideas. I typically enjoy commuting to Hallmark stores in smaller areas because I live in a large city and you tend to get better service at smaller stores, but wasn't pleased with the service I received at this location. Called ahead to check availability of an item, which the store had. They were helpful enough to politely answer the phone and check to ensure they had the item but were too busy to allow me to pay over the phone and the commute is 20-25 minutes. I was happy to pay ahead and to wait on the phone until the register was available as I commuted there, but they refused. Won't be returning to this location. read more

To add: Just having too good a day? Worried that you might need to be a little angrier, or feel the need to have old ladies treat you like garbage? Or maybe you just want to be ignored, or better yet, be ignored, but have suspicious looks shot your way if you touch something with the occasional look of total disdain directed at little ol' you? Then COME ON DOWN! Knick knacks and tchotchkes are pricey. Same cards/wrap/etc you'd find at any other Hallmark. Save yourself. Go anywhere else. Also? My husband has long hair. Get over it. Pete Tesoro was your top selling, most loved and respected employee so why??
