I hadn't heard from them, (one month and one week since drop-off) I returned to the store hoping it was ready for pick-up before my vacation. No it was not. While on vacation ~ some two weeks later ~ I received a text, "your bracelet is ready". After my vacation, on August 20 (two months and two days since drop-off) I returned to the store to pick it up. The repair had been performed, but the bracelet had not been shortened. Oops... Today September 29th ~ they texted again "your bracelet is ready" After a three month, and 11 day, long wait for a simple repair I picked up my bracelet. Oh yeah, the bill $107.00. I visited Glastonbury Jewelers on a Saturday to look at tennis bracelets, and found one that I thought I liked. Sandi, one of the saleswomen, was incredibly sweet and helpful and assisted me with trying on the bracelet, recommending sizing for it, etc. As it was clear the bracelet was too big, I paid but left the bracelet to be shortened by half an inch. Later that day and after talking to my husband, I decided I wanted a bigger carat weight bracelet, and he wanted to be the one to buy it for me. I called the store to have them pause on shortening the bracelet, but was unable to get in touch with anyone as the store was closed. Come Tuesday morning, I called the store again (due to them being closed Sunday-Monday) and spoke to the owner's daughter and explained that I wanted to return the bracelet, and have my husband buy me a bigger one; I offered to pay for the time and labor incurred in shortening the bracelet. She assured me that there was no need to pay for the time/labor, and it shouldn't be a problem to add the removed diamond links back to the bracelet. I then decided to swing by the store later that day to receive the refund, and spoke with the owner, Tony. He refused to let me return the bracelet (mind you, the bracelet had not left the store since I bought it Saturday, three days prior) because it had already been shortened (if the store policy is no refunds once an item is shortened, etc, TELL your customers that BEFORE they decide to do so!!) I explained that I no longer wanted the bracelet, and again offered to pay for the time and labor incurred. He refused, stating he couldn't let me return it for a refund as this was "not right" and offered me a store credit. I AGAIN explained that this was no help to me, as I wanted a bigger bracelet that my husband wanted to be the one to buy for me; offering me a credit was just me using the majority of my money for a bigger bracelet. He then went into some rambling explanation of how he had the bracelet "on memo" and couldn't take it back because he needed to sell it....but then also said he would have let me return it had it not been shortened (still not sure how this logic makes any sense, but okay). I half entertained using the credit for something else, and having my husband still purchase me a bigger bracelet; however, each custom item I wanted to make was met with some kind of resistance "it's hard to get a good heart shaped diamond, etc, etc" (no, it's not, as I asked two other jewelers I frequently use who said this was no difficult task). At that point, I was so fed up that I just left and said I'd let Tony know what I'd do. I came back the next day and picked up the bracelet, which I then sold to my aunt who wanted a tennis bracelet. Luckily I got my money back, and am now purchasing a new bracelet and a few other pieces from a jeweler I typically use who actually offers superb customer service. If Anthony hadn't been so resistant, he would have ended up making more money by letting me return the bracelet, as I would have purchased more items and my aunt would have bought the one I returned. Long story short, there's better jewelers with much better customer service and return policies than this one. Avoid!!

I was then quoted $252 to replace it with a CZ stone.

I found this Jewelry store four years ago, and everything I have purchased, or had repaired, have been nothing short of amazing. Chuck, Hilary, Anne and Lucy always go above an beyond, to ensure that you are 100% satisfied. Oh and I would be remiss if I didn't mentioned the vast and gorgeous selection of fine jewelry that is available for the most discerning customer. Please indulge me for a moment, for I would like to share my most recent experience with this team. I own a beautiful diamond and sapphire ring that my mother, who is now deceased, gave to me. I had the appraisal done by a jeweler, that I used prior to finding Dunbar. Unfortunately while on vacation one of the diamonds fell out and was lost. I wasn't too worried since I had the ring insured. I brought the ring to Michael and Hilary, along with the appraisal to have the repair completed. Unfortunately the appraisal that was given from a jeweler who will remain anonymous, was incorrect and quoted the diamonds as half their actual size. Therefore the insurance company was only willing to reimburse me for one-third of the total replacement and repair cost. Chuck and Lucy having listened to my story, offered immediately to compose a letter for me to send to my insurance company, along with the corrected appraisal. Today I was notified that because of the letter and new corrected appraisal, the total repair will be paid by the Insurance Company. Can you imagine my surprise and joy? Especially with the holiday season upon us, this additional expense was going to be difficult. I can't tell you how much I appreciate Chuck and his entire team. They did this for me, with no financial gain for them. The integrity and kindness shown by the Dunbar team will keep them forever, as my number one choice for jewelry!!!

I showed him a picture of the designs of settings from a major catalog, and asked him if he could produce a setting exactly like the picture. He said no problem. The diamond was large, and I told him I wanted the designs on the sides to be the same ratio, to the center stone, as in the picture. Is that too hard to understand? He shrugged it off like, I was an idiot for asking that. He assured me I will get that ring, exactly, with the diamond I gave him. Don't ever trust this person to mount anything of value to you. When I got the ring, the side designs were 20% smaller than the dimensions of the center stone. He evidently, got someone to cast it, without telling them I wanted the proper dimensions of designs, relating to the size of the diamond. I wanted the same proportions as the picture. So I received a ring, that was NOT what I asked for. He didn't relay any information to the people that were casting the platinum ring!!! He led me to believe he had total control. He didn't cast it, all he did was mount it. He said he was sorry, and didn't even offer to fix it. I paid $1700 for a ring , I didn't ask for. I thought jewelers were smart enough to know what ratios, or proportions meant. But this guy, doesn't care, he just wants his money. I'm armenian, and I thought I could trust him, but don't trust him, unless you just want repairs. He's probably OK at that. I don't want anybody to make the same mistake I did. Judy Piranian
