We just moved to the area and the office took our kids as new patients. They loved their initial checkup experience- the technicians set them up in the dental chair with a DVD player with their favorite shows. Then the technicians handed each kid an overstuffed animal with hilarious huge teeth and an over-sized toothbrush. My son got the huge dinosaur and my daughter got the big yellow fish. They each showed the technicians how to "brush" the stuffed animal's teeth. The technicians took pictures of the kids with the stuffed animals. We got to take the pictures home, such a cute idea. My kids are at the age where they love seeing pictures like that. My son had to come back a few times to get a few cavities filled. Dr. Amy was so good with him each time. She set him up with the DVD player and showed him some of the tools. She continuously kept him calm and said he was such a big boy. We had no issues at all. He didn't like the procedures, but she made sure he knew that she was fixing his "booboo" tooth. After the second procedure, he got stickers, little toys, a balloon and a live goldfish (which he promptly named Gobi after the Bubble Guppies). I was a patient in this practice as a child in late 1970s/early 1980s. My mother was told that I had a fluoride deficiency so, when my secondary molars came in, Dr. Walter Schwartz filled almost all of my permanent teeth with massive cross-shaped silver amalgam fillings (presumably to avoid future cavities?) Now, as an adult, I have developed fractures in these teeth. I have seen multiple dentists over the years and the consensus is that these massive fillings destroyed the integrity of my adult molars. So not only are these the most unsightly teeth in my mouth, they are now falling apart. I am spending a small fortune as a result. First, I had a few (towards the front of my mouth) redone with composite material over the years to remove some of the old unsightly fillings. Now, over the past 2 1/2 years, I have required 3 crowns and one root canal because the very back molars are literally cracking into pieces. Just spent another $2300+, after insurance, to repair yet another tooth. And the back of another has broken off so I will need yet another crown in the very near future. I have always taken pride in, and impeccable care of, my teeth. My dentist is always amazed at how well I take care of my teeth but tells me that these molars will all eventually go, regardless of what I do because so much of the natural tooth was removed. The only cavity I have had as an adult began because of, again, one of these monstrous fillings beginning to crack without my knowledge. I am beyond frustrated at this point and have spent thousands of dollars due to this strange practice. Still have another 3 that are "wait and see" but they do all have hairline fractures seen in x-ray. How I wish we could go back in time and have my mother say no to all of this unnecessary, destructive work. read more

CHILDREN BEWARE BECAUSE HERE THEY DO NOT CARE!!! Started off fair my child took a seat the drill came down and was treated like meat when questioned why the conceit she was arrogant and rude not very discrete. THEN THE BILL CAME WHICH WAS COMPLETELY ABSURD THE WAY HE WAS TREATED PLUS WE WERE INSURED. They charge what ever they want after the insurance already paid they kept sending me the same bill I was completely enraged. They justified it how ever they wanted even though they were wrong how this criminal empire is open it out of ones mind, a homeless shelter dentist better is where you will find! read more

Dr. Norman is Fantastic but his daughter Amy is a nightmare!! She was very rough with my son who has never ever had a problem or been afraid of the dentist until dealing with her! He had multiple teeth drilled and filled with Dr. Norman and did not even flinch! One meeting with Amy Schwartz and my son never wants to go back to the dentist again! She didn't even do a procedure on him because she was to busy trying to roughly restrain a child who just tried to sit up because he did not understand what was going on!! BEWARE OF DR. AMY!!! Very Unprofessional!! She should not work with children!!!! She severely traumatized my child!!! read more

I have been going to this dental office since I was a very young child and at the age of 23 will not leave even having temporarily left NJ to attend graduate school, I wait for breaks to go back. I always have a great experience with both Dr. Norman and Dr. Amy. Over the years I have built a great trust and relationship knowing things will get done the proper way. I have had numerous compliments on the dental treatment I've had done. No matter what the cause or time of day I have always been able to easily get an appointment. Pleasant and professional front-desk and hygenists. Dr. Schwartz examines my children's teeth and then took the time to speak with us. He told us his examination results, as well as answered questions that we might have. You don't find too many dentists taking the time to speak with you unless they want you to spend extra money. read more

They are amazing!!! I have been going to Dr. Schwartz since i was 7 and im currently still going! I refuse to change my dentist. The staff is friendly and the dentists really care about your well wellbeing. I always got my teeth treated with Dr. Schwartz and he was always very gentle and a perfectionist! I brought my 2.5 year old son here for his very first dental appointment. The assistant Edith was extremely rough with him which I felt was unprofessional and unnecessary being that my son is very calm usual is more than willing to cooperate with a little bit of encouragement. She asked if she could show his father and I a tip to brush his teeth at home. Then proceeded to position him in to a gentle headlock. I could understand where she was going with it and made it clear to her that I could try it at home. She then started to force brush his teeth continuing the demonstration while my son started crying because she was so rough. I told her that was enough but she did respond to my request with any urgency whatsoever. Dr Amy suggested we consider a procedure to fill his cavity. I was horrified as they went into detail of the procedure itself. Basically they wanted me to let them strap my 2.5 year old son to a table in a straight jacket from his should to his knees under no anesthetic while they operated for 20+ minutes. They told me I was not allowed to stay with him during this procedure and that was it for me. If they were handling him so roughly right in front of me, I can only imagine how they would treat him while I'm not in the room. As a mother i would never let something this traumatizing take place to my child unless his life was at risk if I didn't allow it. I got a second option from his pediatrician and another pediatric dentist and they told me that was ridiculous and at their office I was of course allowed to stay by my child's side during the entire operation. read more

I have been to Dr. Norman and Amy Schwartz practice twice. My son has had very good experiences both times. We will continue going and we're very happy to have found a place where the doctors, and the dental hygienists are so nice. Finding a good pediatric dentist isn't easy. I would recommend this place to parents who have had negative experiences somewhere else. read more
