She was terrible at giving directions (just turn, turn the other way, no the other way, move your hand, etc - entirely unclear) and would get mad at us when we didn't guess correctly what she meant. When we didn't pose the way she wanted, she would make sarcastic and snippy comments that made us all SO uncomfortable and made the whole shoot so awkward. And then she'd bark at you to smile! We did not get one single photo that we will ever use. I am so very sad and mad, not only that we wasted $500 but that we can't go back and get photos that we can actually use of my baby at this age again. We can never get that back. I would highly encourage you to think twice before hiring Christina if you have a baby - she absolutely does NOT know how to shoot babies. Or family groups. If you have any thoughts or opinions of your own whatsoever about what you want, she will not listen to you. When I told her what shots I wanted (which we had discussed over the phone and in email prior to the shoot) she yelled at me that she's the professional and basically I needed to shut up and do it her way because I don't know anything. I left the shoot in tears. It was truly awful. And surprise surprise, I've never seen less flattering photos of myself or my family in my entire life. There is literally not one single photo where you can see everyone's face and everyone has their eyes open! I truly believe she started taking bad photos intentionally after I didn't want to do one of her poses because even a non-professional photographer could capture at least one or two that were ok. Think twice before hiring her.

She met with us prior to our shoot to get an understanding of our vision, help advise us on what to wear, and decide on a location. Everything she suggested was absolutely perfect!! The photos came out 100x better than we ever could have hoped for and she returned them to us remarkably fast! It was a pleasure to work with such a friendly & talented photographer and I would recommend her to anyone!

First of all, this is not your typical cheesy…read morelittle old west portrait studio where you throw on some shredded saloon hall costume that ties in the back, throw a leg over a chair and look like you're slugging back a bottle of JD. This place is first class. It's located on the quaint main street of historic mining town, Central City. When it's time for your portrait sitting, they lock the shop door, so it's ONLY your time and you get full attention and privacy so that there are no onlookers gawking. It's a fairly large studio with beautiful back drops, authentic antiques, accessories and a huge selection of vintage clothing, shoes, hats, gloves, suits etc and they're clean and well cared for. There's an actual dressing room! Milda, who is the owner, photographer and overall artistic genius, (with an adorable European accent) makes sure you look just right for the portrait. She takes her time to make sure every last detail is perfect. We were tired of the boring saloon hall photos you see everywhere, so we opted for a more refined Victorian tea look. Milda gave us the exact style photos we wanted and I couldn't be more pleased with them. I now have a special and unique keepsake of me and my mother! Together, with her husband and co-owner, they share so much about the history of Central City and make the entire experience authentic. Now for the photos. AMAZING!! The prices were very reasonable, so much so, that I bought a copy of every shot. I would highly recommend checking out the gallery of photos on her website so that you can see the quality of these vintage style portraits. I will definitely be coming back to this place, I loved it!

The person who purchased the photo session ended up not being able to use it, so offered to donate it back to the organization so that an employee could make use of it. I was the first person to respond by email to our development director, so I got the session. I was super excited because I thought that I could just use the session to update my headshots. Nothing fancy, no wardrobe changes. Just my face, looking normal. Well, I called her and she was super rude and seemed extremely annoyed that a. The gift certificate was given to me and b. That I wanted to do head shots and not art prints. She said that the gift certificate isn't for her Delafoto brand but for her Ariane Cecile brand. She told me without mincing words that she donated the gift certificate with the expectation that the auction winner would spend $3000 on art prints. (Yes, $3000.) This was not communicated in any sort of fine print or anything, mind you. So, our patron thought they were doing a nice thing by donating this back. Ultimately, it went to waste. She refused to see me unless I committed to an hour. Which is odd as I would think she would appreciate the efficiency and I was going to purchase the photos. She would not email the photos either which is stupid as like I said, I had planned to purchase them. To make a long story short, I never saw our photos because she was such a difficult person to work with. And what kind of business person makes buying something so difficult?

Fashion, make-up and any personalized girly attention are about the last things that I would associate with a fun day, so I signed on with a great deal of trepidation, but my day long shoot with Katie was actually FUN! I was a frazzled mess when I arrived but Katie quickly set to work putting me at ease. She helped me make make-up and clothing decisions and made the whole process really easy. She took the time to demonstrate poses and faces, which made the process less intimidating and was much more helpful than just telling me what to do. It turned out that the photos were stunning - they look gorgeous AND they actually look like ME!
