Nashville has, approximately, 28473 Mexican/Latin food trucks. In a market with so much sameness, a…read moretruck really has to stand out to differentiate itself from the competition. Failure to do so makes it 'just another truck.' In my experience, La Pasita is just another truck. A decent truck, to be sure, but just another truck. On a Saturday in early summer my pantry was a bit low and I had a wild hair to get some food from a truck. La Pasita had been on my radar so I checked the interwebs, found out where it was going to be and made my way. There wasn't much of a line when I arrived so I was able to order right away. My interaction with the folks inside the truck was mid to slightly dismissive. No conversation. No pleasantries. No free sauce. Just 'what would you like?' and 'ok.' Okay. I ordered two mulitas (chicken and chorizo) and a taco (pastor). I paid. I waited. I got my food. I did not get a 'thank you for coming.' Okay. I came home to dig in and... ok. It was ok. Fine. The thing is, I have had redonkulous mulitas and tacos from trucks and brick and mortars here in town (from the looks of it on Yelp, I review a lot of taco joints). And, even better, I felt welcomed and appreciated as a customer. YMMV but for me, my money and my time, I'll be sticking to the rivers and the lakes that I'm used to.

Wowza! Went to Mayday Brewery for Thursday Night Bingo! And…read morethey were there for National Burrito Day. This is very much like eating your grandmas food. You can tell that there is so much love in this good. Everything was delicious. And that sauce game is on fire figuratively and literally. Find them and go!
