I know i will bring back memories of my high school from 2013 to 2017. I will see my mom , Heather Ledray, my dad, Jim Ledray, and my Sehome High School friends, Katie Boon Dooley, Fiona Dawson, Mahlea King and Gracie Reiley out at Mirror Lake after the train ride. I will have fun on these from June to August every Satutrday. Our engine pulling the train is Northern Pacific 1070, a 1907 0-6-0 Alco steam locomotive built in Manchester, NH. The cars that the locomotive will be pulling were built in 1912 by George Pullman, an American inventor for the Pullman Car Co. It will be so much fun. I can't wait to do it. All aboard!

I've taken the pumpkin train two years in a row now. I was looking for driving directions when I…read moresaw the low star ratings on yelp. These are very harsh reviews. I was inspired to write my own. The train is old, from 1912. It's not perfect but has old charm to it. My kids love it, and so do my husband and I. This year they shortened the ride (which is good because it was a little long before) so we got to stop by Mirror Lake and get pumpkins in the the railroad track. It's a photographers dream. We also love riding the old pump cart (I think that's what it's called). It's our favorite part actually. It was still very fun, the kids were so excited. They allow you to explore all over the train inside and out. Any questions they answer with a smile. Also, they allow you to bring your own snacks (There were some complaints on other reviews about the snack prices and the offered selection). I bring a picnic basket with a thermos of hot coco, and special snacks my kiddos enjoy. It's a fun family activity that is a glimpse of what transportation used to be like. As for the price, I would spend just as much money at the pumpkin patch with admission, buying pumpkins and whatever else they add on for entertainment (pony rides or tractor rides, etc). On the train you get a nice size pumpkin to take home. You can get one pumpkin per person (this year I saw people bring garbage bags to put their pumpkins in so they are less dirty in the train). Overall, this is a charming old train, run by knowledgeable people, who are sharing this experience with others and hopefully inspiring others to love trains and the history of them too. If you are expecting a really fancy train, with modern amenities you'll be disappointed. We look forward to coming back again next year.

Once the counter opened, we were instructed to line up based on seat types: business or coach. Going through the custom was quick and easy. Though they don't stamp anymore, the agent was very nice to stamp it for us since it was my daughter first time out of the country and re-entry. The train ride will last for 4 hrs and 25 mins. We got food from Ekki Sushi so we could eat dinner on the train.

It recommended coming an hour early and I am very glad I didn't listen. I came 15 min early and was put on an overflow but with only 10 people on it, while the other bus was completely full. I wouldn't say to arrive late but...they didn't even let people get on until 20 min before, so if you aren't a fan of outdoor lines, just do what feels best. The staff did a great job of loading our luggage for us and managed passport checks efficiently. Station itself wasn't the best. No food or beverages other than vending machines and the bathrooms were just okay. Not many amenities or nice places to sit. I would take this bus again, but would limit my time in the station itself.

It is in Fare Zone 2 and has side platforms, so doors open on the right. The station was completed in 1985 and received an extensive remodel/rebuild in 2012 when it opened as part of the Shops at New West center. Shops at New West has restaurants, supermarket, a cinema and lots of retail spending opportunities. There is a bus stop here with connections on a dozen or so lines. Escalators and elevators are here as the station is fully handicapped accessible. It is above ground and somewhat protected from the elements. But this is Canada, so if it's cold outside then it's cold on the platform. [Review 20887 overall - 63 in British Columbia - 1871 of 2023.]

The place consists mostly of small businesses, with easy SkyTrain platform access. There's a bit of everything in there, such as banks and fast food. There's even a supermarket (Safeway) attached. My favourite part is the caged (suicide-proof) bridge that crosses over the tracks. Great for watching the trains go by while reflecting on life.

I still get confused here and there trying deal with the Expo line. Be sure to follow the signage. One peculiar thing I've noticed is that people will zip through the train (in one side and out the other side) to skip to an adjacent platform. Haven't figured out what they're trying to do just yet. Guess I shouldn't really be complaining. Busy is good.

Finally had a chance to see what they are planning to implement moving forward on the new fare 'gate' system, and I will hold judgement till they are fully implemented, as I see a log jam that will be happening during peak hours. This station is a corridor, as it has an intersecting station (Commercial) where the Millenium line comes in. Also in the busy weekday mornings people line up on Broadway to catch the B-Line to UBC. The amount of people that come through here is (for Vancouver standards) a lot! This area was definitely a lot darker back in the day, with people begging for money around the station, and the normal small drug deal around the corner, with the addition of the Millenium line brought some new businesses that cleaned up this place. The station does look it's age on the old Broadway side but it's an important station for Transit. During the peak hours just remember your lining up, whether it's for the next train, or the next bus, just remember to try to be couteous to others, and let others off first before you go charging up onto your transit option!
