Train was on time.My son and I thoroughly enjoyed our ride from Bellingham to Mount Vernon. It was a reasonable price for both of the tickets. My son loves trains and going to different places so it was great. This last time the train was on time down from the Canadian border. I recently traveled to Bellingham on a business trip with my husband. We took the Amtrak train from Bellingham to Vancouver, Canada. The station was impressive, featuring a charming coffee shop. The officers from the station to the Amtrak train were extremely professional. We opted for general seating, which was priced at $14 per person, as the business class was fully booked. The scenic view en route to Vancouver, Canada, was breathtaking. The train's amenities were commendable, with clean chairs, hallways, and bathrooms. Additionally, snacks and coffee were available for purchase on board. I highly recommend this experience. read more

Yes I Am-Trak-ing all the reviews I write. Mainly because I have used this station for Greyhounds regularly. This bus station is actually part of the Amtrak station which serves the beautiful mountain town of Bellingham with all of its beautiful scenery and greenery. Definitely one of my favourite towns in the state, full of awesome College people here as well. Coming here by bus wasn't my best experience, and I much prefer driving here to be honest. But it's great for kids that don't have that luxury. read more

a very cool station. its a great place. don't need to walk that far like Sacramento valley. i really like the Amtrak cascades trains that operate at that terminal. especially the southbound one that comes in the morning. there's also paws for a beer for some ice cold beer and for your dog to play. also cant forget about Fairhaven coffee where you can order coffee or get something to eat. 5 out of 5 read more

My husband and I rode the Amtrak from Wenatchee on July 10, 2023. The station master was so kind and helpful. He is a real ambassador for Amtrak and Edmonds. He gave us a ride on the railway cart as far as he could. My husband uses a walker and is 93. He made our trip memorable for going that extra mile. read more

Bought a full price train ticket and got a bus ride instead. In their defense they notified people ahead of time when purchasing the ticket online. That notification is a tiny bus icon on the corner of the ticket with no other explanation or clarification on what it could mean. For a first time customer on Amtrak, I had no idea until I arrived at the station. Had I known, I would have spent $2 on the public bus transit instead of $18 for an Amtrak bus. They really should make it more clear and known on their website when their trains are not in service. Some people are buying these tickets for the train ride, not a bus. read more

ALL ABOARD!!! I love a relaxing train ride. The trip South is right along the water, spectacular views! I often travel to Edmonds for the day just to enjoy the beautiful scenery. I have had no problems with the service, of course, the food and drinks are overpriced...no surprise. The Ivars clam chowder is definitely tempting and should be tried at least once. My longest trip so far has been to Eugene, OR and movies and snacks were provided. With how hectic air travel has become, bumped flights, missed connections, etc. the train is more appealing then ever. And, you're not herded like cattle through the TSA nightmare. The conductors don't have control over delays, weather related conditions, etc. but they make sure their passengers are taken care of. On the way back from Seattle there were terrible mudslides covering the Everett area tracks. We were provided a bus to leave from another nearby station. Sure, an inconvenience but beats flying any day! I have had to call customer service a few times, no complaints. There are many deals/companion fares/upgrades on their website especially if you can book far in advance. I have been wanting to do a day trip to Vancouver, BC. especially after watching Hallmark's The Christmas Train movie. Parts were filmed at the beautiful Pacific Central Station. read more

The majority of the people on the train were wonderful however Jim who works in the food cart was horrible! My son and grandson and I had taken a day trip to Seattle. On the return trip home my grandson needed a milk bottle. I purchased a milk and asked Jim to heat it up explaining it was for my grandchild. He was beyond rude, put the milk in the microwave, took it out and set it on the counter in front of me as it was boiling over the cup. I again explained it was for my grandchild and asked him to put ice in it. His response was you wanted it hot it's hot! The entire trip was fabulous until this point. Jim should not work on the train as every child's first train ride is a memorable one and should be a positive experience! Jim needs to retire! read more

The last time I took an Amtrak, we got stuck on the train tracks in Minot, North Dakota during winter. Yeah, that sucked. Over 20 years later, it's summer and I'm anxious to start my honeymoon. We got to the station very early. So early in fact that the gal at the ticket booth scolded me for arriving so late to the departure to Vancouver, WA. We were going to the other Vancouver and as soon as it dawned on her, her face changed. The ticket booth lady was stern but with really good and thorough customer service. The train staff are very efficient and brisk. They are a well-oiled crew. We arrived without a glitch in Vancouver, BC and had a quick walk through customs. Taking the train to Vancouver BC was a good idea. It's a beautiful ride through parts I hadn't seen before. It's better to relax and enjoy the scenery than to drive. Also, I didn't miss my car in Vancouver. I think to have had my car would have been a big ole pain. I will be taking the train more frequently in the future. It's a good idea. read more

I love taking Amtrak trains out of Bellingham and I've done so for years. Yes...sometimes there are problems and one expects them in any traveling situation but what one does not need or want is a surly and obtuse station agent who appears to have no tolerance for the nuances of travel and accommodating passengers. I have contacted Amtrak and the Port Authority (I wrote REAL letters with stamps and everything since Amtrak's online commenting page kept refusing my inquiries). I pressed this as it has been a reoccurring situation and I requested this person be counseled in some way. I heard nothing back and this happened a month ago, so here I am. So if you are leaving from the station in Fairhaven, be prepared for the worst from the station agents. It is too bad, really...so much about Amtrak is great but I'll be driving or flying. I'm just not going to put myself through it. read more

I love taking the train, and the service I have received on Amtrak is often wonderful. However, when I recently arrived at the station in Bellingham, I was confused about using the e-ticket kiosk with my phone (I could not find a barcode to scan in my email). I asked a customer service attendant about the issue and she told me (very rudely, I may add) to check the attachment. I kid you not, the next word out of her mouth were "Just because you have a smartphone doesn't mean you're that smart." That one experience tainted my otherwise wonderful trip. I would like to call attention to this issue - and I know I was not the only one the attendant was rude to that day. read more

Let me start by saying my train was four hours late two days before Christmas. The Bellingham Amtrak staff was overwhelmed with holiday travelers trying to make it to their respective wherevers for the holidays. The situation was difficut but this was not the fault of the staff. The front office woman Mary was diligent in answering questions to the best of her ability without giving false hopes to anyone. Please be nice to the people trying to help you. This may be my first Amtrak out of Bellingham however I and 100% positive being irratated at the messenger has never helped a train arrive faster. read more

I almost NEVER write poor reviews. I'm not one of those embittered pissy yelpers that go around writing angry reviews to harm businesses. There are moments like these when you simply can't be quiet.This is not a review of the station, which I find to be good, But of amtrak customer service (hotline) as a whole. I was calling to resolve a multi-ride reservation date issue, The woman helping me was AWFUL. Calling in general will take you a long time. They want you to use the automated customer service representative "Julie", or the useless iPhone app. Sharon was condescending and her attitude was bad. Her immediate response is to be obstinate with a heavy dose of power tripping. Then, In a separate incident I left my keys on the train. I understand that's on me. As a result of losing these keys I had to put a new starter for my scooter which cost me $200. The fact that there is not a specified drop spot for lost items of such importance (phones, keys, wallets etc.) is bonkers. Choose a city on the route, and supply a phone number to this lost and found site would be a start. There's absolutely no protocol for lost items. I was told to call each station. There were 14? A lot! Each phone call was a hellish maze of automated robots and not a single employee (when I did reach one) were concerned or helpful. Everyone told me it was a lost cause. Amtrak, you are truly out of touch if your employees aren't trained to direct people to a lost and found resource. An improvement to your app perhaps? An option people can click on their train and then receive info about where/which city the lost and found items were stowed? I'll change my review if these issues are remedied. read more

The Bellingham staff are the nicest! It's a very clean train depot, a short walk from Fairhaven. Going back to Edmonds, we had a fantastic sunset water view. I LOVE traveling to Bham by train. Sure hope they don't raise their rates though. At the moment, it's fairly priced and convenient. read more
