Proved to be difficult to get a money order when receiving child support payments through western…read moreunion. After being questioned for a good 10 minutes on why I was receiving child support money in the form of western union payments I was denied the ability to receive my WU payments with the explanation that they didn't agree with the method of payment. I was then told I needed to bring in proof of where the money I was receiving was coming from (This was for a sum of less than $7k). I instead went to Publix where they gave me my WU payments without question. I do not recommend Amscot for Western Union or money orders

I also learned that you can cash checks here, get money orders etc. While I do have a back account its always good to have options so I even set up an account here in case I ever had to cash a client check. Amscot is a good option even for people who have bank accounts. I imagine most of their business is from people who are not able to get a bank account so this is their only option. The fees are higher than most but if I cash a check at say, Chase I have to pay a fee of $6.00. Here is is 4.45% on hand written checks. Not too bad I guess. I hope I never have to use this service but its just an extra option for me.

Great to pay your utilities bills for a small fee. Good for sending money if you need to. I have not had any problems per say with staff here. Good fee schedule if cashing checks. They have always polite to me. Fast service. The one problem I have had is, the way they do not take who is next. You walk up to an open window and wait to be serviced. They do not like people standing and waiting. But with that said, the next person is not always the next person helped. I am sure I will return.

Today I went there to send money through Western union…read more. Western union are partnership with Amscot Company... Anyway the Manager asked me question 'who that person that I wanted to send money to??' I said family .. Second question she asked me 'what purpose to send money for?' I said that isn't necessary because that is my family personal matter.. I don't think they need to know.. I don't have to fuck answer... So I mean that none of their business what purpose I want send money to!!! She said it for my own security protect because of scam!!!! I just laughing!!!! Stupid!! She said I been sent three time this month!!! So fuck what!!!??? Still none of fuck their business!!! Rules stupid!!! I know what I am doing it only my family personal matter!!! So I called Amscot Headquarter,customer service said will be happy to transfer me to Supervisor.. Then I talked to supervisor .. I explain what going on..
