If you decide to move to another accountant but need a copy of a prior year tax return, it takes them weeks to send it to you, and when it comes - it's all sloppy! He is so smart that my rather complicated tax returns are clear and thorough and take some of the sting out of paying taxes. Their level of expertise is excellent and they're very responsive to any questions you might have. Their services don't come cheap but nothing good does come cheap. If you want cheap go to H&R Block or TurboTax but realize the person preparing your tax return probably isn't a CPA, more than likely they're just non CPA's that these companies put thru a course of basic skills and they just plug your numbers into an online program that spits out your tax return. If it's right you're lucky but if it doesn't you're pretty much screwed and may well find yourself having to deal with the IRS on your own. I've been an accountant for over 50 years and I haven't done my own tax return for more than 35 years simply because I started my own business in a different industry and I never kept up with the current tax laws but I sought out a CPA firm that I could trust to do the job right. This firm is excellent and I would recommend them for your tax needs. They're also investment advisers but I have never used them for those services so I can't comment on that end of their business. Again, if you want your tax return done correctly this firm is as good as they come but their fees aren't cheap but it's much more expensive to have to deal with the IRS if your return is wrong.
