Other than a fractured housing and cracked hydraulic bolt, it was a great $12,000 machine. The replacement housing and specialty bolt arrived from a firm on the East Coast, but was 1/32" too large and needed to be milled down with a specialty lathe. Within minutes of calling, Matt said he could do it. But this was such a bespoke configuration, maybe he just didn't know how complex it was. So I drove an hour to see Matt. He had it perfected within minutes and even recommended an outside resource for the hydraulic hose fitting. He literally saved the day and can't help but recommend him to all the other trades that I know. I know of at least three other projects that could use his expertise.

It took them months upon months and I didn't have a final product for almost a year after I dropped my engine off. Then they gave me a box of someone else's parts and they lost my cam angle sensor (very expensive) I just had my engine installed by a professional shop and upon first start up it made 0 psi compression in cylinders 3 and 4 because they assembled my rocker shims incorrectly and now I am out more money and even more time on this engine because of dons machine shop. Brought my Singer in with what I thought was an issue with the foot controller. Was told it would…read morebe 5-6 weeks before it they could look at it. I asked if we could test a working foot controller to rule it out as an issue. The foot controller they plugged in not only did not work but caused the machine to spark! I was told I can leave my machine and get a free estimate in 5-6 weeks. Through further discussion, I was encouraged to purchase a new, more expensive brand of machine because evidently Singer and Brother machines are cheap crap from China. (Their sentiment, not mine. I've sewed on a Singer all my life and so has my mother.) I opted not to leave my machine. Once home, I ordered a new foot controller online which just arrived and solved my problem. Also ordered some sewing machine oil and now plan to do maintenance myself. I was hoping to support a local small business and maybe build a relationship for future service but the way they handled my situation has guaranteed I'll be looking elsewhere in the future. Perhaps if they spent a few minutes ruling a few simple things out when machines come in they wouldn't have "a hundred machines" in queue for repair.

Stopped in for a new edger blade for our Stihl edger ($4.80). The (older) woman at the counter…read morewasn't too friendly at first, but warmed up by the end of our transaction. We were also looking for attachments for our edger, namely a weed eater because our old one needs upgrading. Like most places, they were out if stock and unsure when they would get any in. Kind of a bummer, but seems to be common nowadays. We ended up purchasing a tune-up kit for the edger too. It's been a few years since we've used it and thought it was about time. Overall a decent experience. Not sure it will be our go-to place as there's another Stihl dealer closer to our house. We originally picked this location because of the positive reviews on Google, but we didn't get the same feeling.
