when I picked up a log splitter the experience was good. the price was good. I picked it up right…read morebefore they closed for an early start in the morning. when looked over the splitter before leaving there is a pin that holds the splitter in place for travel. the keeper that keeps the pin in place could not be the original. on the way home the fastener that keeps the keeper in place came off causing the splitter to stand up while driving. I stopped I fixed. the Splitter worked ok. When I returned the splitter I let the guy behind the counter was very rude especially when I told him about the pin coming loose. He said they never had a problem before. I told him that there was no way it was the OEM locking system. He irritated that they never had a problem. on my way out I looked at another splitter that was the same and it had another jury rigged keeper but different. The hours of operation is another reason I will never use them again. I went there because the cost was cheaper than Home Depot. They close much earlier this means the cost is much more over all because operating hours. Home Depot 125.00. Johnson Creek rentals 175.00 advertised price less but it costs more and equipment is old and safety of equipment is not a concern judging by the person that checked me out. I was hoping to use a smaller more local company when I went to Johnson Creek rental.

I have a development coming in practically on top of my property line in a small pocket neighborhood. Carver Rock's driver has been coming all day long dropping loads of gravel. At one point he left his truck running for about 7 minutes while he chatted up the developer. I work remote and my office sits right next to all this racket. Windows are open because it's damn hot in my house. I went out and asked him to shut the truck off and his response was telling me he couldn't hear me and rubbed his eyes mockingly at me. There's an Oregon Law that prohibits commercial trucks from doing this in neighborhood: State law (ORS 825.605) prohibits commercial vehicles (weighing over 10,000 lbs) from idling for more than 5 minutes. If you prefer not to deal with MAGA companies, this would be a really good one to skip.

But that's how shopping here goes: check the inventory frequently, cross your fingers that they have the right size or enough of the thing you need, and accept that even if it doesn't work for you it is going to a better home and not the dump. They've got inventory of all kinds, but I'd say primarily it's cabinets, sinks and tubs, lighting, wood, doors and windows. They do have a website with some online inventory and you can always call ahead to see if something is still in stock. I especially appreciate their education opportunities. I've taken a few classes about building tables, and a little free library, and I'm signed up for my next class with them about tiling!

Upon arrival the Joe, the wonderful lady I spoke with on the phone, came out to meet me and introduced me to their foreman who took the work and did, what I asked, in about 20 minutes, wow. I did not estimate that there was more that needed to be adjusted and had to take it back and again they did the work. I can't tell you how nice it is to have people who are willing to help the locals. Fan forever.
