It's one of those tiny places that packs a lot of stuff into it. The people were friendly, but this isn't a cheap souvenir shop. The store has rooms upstairs and downstairs. If you are looking for higher end gift or something pretty for your home, this is a surprising shop to find something special. It definitely feels like a boutique that would be in downtown Saratoga Springs or even NYC, not a country road in the Adirondack region. The staff was friendly but not pushy. My mom and I browsed through, enjoying all the pillows, wall art, kitchen items, and even a kids toys/clothing/decor section. We were able to find a few nice gifts and picked up some soap and lip balm for ourselves.

Thus far, this is my favorite store in Lake Placid. I actually went back twice on this trip. The…read moregentlemen behind the counter were helpful when you asked them for help and let you browse if you did not need help. I found so many things that were really unique and fabulous. I had to look very carefully because I wanted to buy twice the amount that I did. The jewelry was really unique and gorgeous, but I held out for a batik backpack, a hand collaged journal and a pair of drawstring pants that I adore. I also bought some handcrafted paper that I used to make my own handcrafted journal and some textured silk wool that I'll use for some kind of crafting project. I only regret that I did not opt to buy more. I had my eye on some felted flowers, some cute handbags and a few other things. I also should have bought more clothes. I had my eye on another pair of those pants, too. I agree with the reviewer that said I could have stayed all day. My husband rolled his eyes when I said I must go back! My only hesitation is to write that the prices were so great. The prices were very reasonable for such beautiful goods. I don't want them to go up! By the way, on the Yelp site, the picture of my journal showed up under the title for their store. It's not sold in the store, but I want to acknowledge artistic credit for it. I certainly could make it or something like it for the store or anyone who wants one. I just want to credit myself for it.

We are fans of Adirondack furniture and household items so it's a pleasure stopping in. There are beautiful signs and various different pieces. It's easy to spend a large chunk of time here. The items are a little pricy but the quality warrants the cost, in my opinion. There is really so much to look through and there's even a pleasant little indoor waterfall toward the back of the store. If you're taking a walk up Main Street, I'd suggest stopping in. You may find something you love.

I bought a few small things because the store is a bit expensive. As much as I wanted to buy about half the store, I couldn't justify the high cost of pretty much anything here. The store is clean but cramped. It's filled as much as it can be with the lodge-themed decor. The staff are amazing! I was juggling quite a few things from other shops and even though I only bought two small items (a patch and magnet), the cashier gave me a giant bag to put everything in. I definitely recommend visiting this neat store but do go in knowing there will be something you like AND it's expensive.

When I approached the hefty lady at the counter, she acted in her voice like it was the most obscene thing I could have done! She pointed, murmered and wave us uff.. guess she couldn't know that Yelp Elite was in her shop. It's a great experience. Expect the staff to be out back smoking cartons of cigarettes, constantly opening ancillary doors with cold drafts, and using time to move old cabinets around instead of actually making good reports with visitors and travelers.
