This store is a little slice of toy heaven in the north country. One of the best toy stores I've been in. When you want Legos or play mobile, the kids will love this place! The only downside is it's 2 hours from my house. Or is that a bad thing? It's probably good otherwise I would spend a ton of money lol. Anytime I'm in the area, I will be stopping in. I visited this toy store while spending a long weekend in the area. This store has an amazing selection of traditional toys and new, unique toys and games. Dan, the owner, is knowledgeable and friendly. He was great to chat with and takes pride in his business. The little touches, like the brio train room in the window with comfy chairs for parents and the game room, help make this a special place. Great store! Love the unusual board games and best of all you can test them out before you buy. Another great example of how Saranac Lake loves smart, intelligent, hometown versions of businesses that are great for thinking people. Best toy and game store in the area, hands down. Smart, kind, helpful staff, fun smart toys, and a terrific game department. Really, something for everyone, and a lot of great education stuff as well. Amazing store and selection. Owner spent time with us looking for some games for our 6 year old daughter. He really engaged with finding us the best kind of game for her that was both stimulating and fun and not mind numbing for us! We loved the fact they stocked European and smaller America game producers. No monopoly games to be found here! We love this place - toys for kids of all ages and they will even make game recomendations based on the types of games for your party/group and most of the stuff they can even demo. Loved how friendly all of the staff was! I think my daughter could have spent the whole day playing with some of the toys if we had let her! Definately worth stopping in! read more

This place is a treasure. Incredible selection of games and toys spanning three different rooms, including a small play area for kids. Most striking is their board game selection and the owner's knowledge of games. He recommended family-friendly games based on my kids' ages and then used some of the store's sample games to show us how to play. We got to try out multiple games and learn the rules of each before buying. I've never seen such a selection of games, and there were 5-6 tables, with different games on each one that people could just come in and play for fun. You will not regret stopping in! read more

I love Amazon. I buy much from there; books, boots, hair product, a lot. However, I don't love Amazon enough to not drive 1 hour and 5 minutes and still pay a few marks over an internet price. Love, love, love visiting Goody Goody's! Makes me want to drop everything, throw myself on the floor and play. They have great educational toys and games - yes; but it also has costumes, puppets, role playing games, soft plushy things, things that go "pop", rocket balloons, and things that make you think, "WOW - I am still a kid!" I think time runs a little differently when you pass over the threshhold - I look at my watch and can't believe how time has flown by and I couldn't possibly have spent that much time browsing....plan to visit - and plan for some extra time to hang out!
