A lot of times these conventions are set up so that the hundreds of attendees are packed in an unsafe manner. I'm glad this wasn't the case. It's a modern and clean convention center. The bathrooms were incredibly clean considering all of the foot traffic. Lots of knowledgeable employees who helped make the visit a good experience.

The computer had me swipe my c/c and below is the receipt. Those behind me were as startled as I was! I understand "buyer beware ", and I'm sure there was probably cheaper parking close by, so lesson learned. I just want to make others aware that may fall into the same trap.

My parking spot neighbor had a make shift living room built with actual grass as the foundation while a book swap sponsored by D Magazine and the Dallas Public Library. My only wish is if the city allowed this to happen more often and longer than just a Friday afternoon.

The human side of the street were beautifully barricaded from the traffic rush by lush planters and shrubbery to create an urban oasis for all to enjoy. These lush barriers created "booths" with a variety of activities from a drum circle, displays by the Nasher, D Magazine , a kid-sized soccer field, and of course the lovely Yelp ambassador, Frances G. Main Street is truly the heart of Downtown yet this makeshift setup brought it even more life and brought the street down to a human scale. I recently visited Toronto where throughout the city center, setups like this are permanent and well received. I can only hope that the word gets out on PARKing Day so that it can spread throughout the city and maybe one day become permanent,

Absolutely the worst parking garage on the planet. A complete scam and total nightmare…read more There is ONLY ONE exit gate, and it keeps malfunctioning, opening and closing for no reason. After midnight, between 12:30 AM and 3:00 AM, we were literally imprisoned inside the garage with no way to exit. No staff, no help button, no phone number, NOTHING. Despite the posted rate being $16 for 2 hours, we were illegitimately charged a full-day parking fee because we were forced to stay inside against our will. That is beyond unacceptable -- it feels like theft. This place is dangerous, poorly designed, and completely mismanaged. No restroom, no emergency plan, no accountability. DO NOT PARK HERE. EVER. Save yourself the stress, time, and money.

The neighborhood was nicknamed "The Devil's Back Porch" back in the 1920s. I hope that was not a reference to his butt. 2. This was one of the busiest streetcar stops in all of Dallas in the 1930s, which is the reason the shops are close together. 3. The restaurant Paradiso is L shaped because it was built around century-old trees. 4. Bonnie (of Bonnie and Clyde) worked as a waitress in this area before her crime spree began. Rumor has it she needed money to afford the $8 slices of pie at Emporium Pies. Only three things sucked: 1) Parking is difficult on weekends. 2) Cops are everywhere, so don't jaywalk. 3) The people with clipboards asking you to donate to blue whale abortions or whatever are aggressive.
