This review is about my visit today, 1/16/2025. I'm so sorry I didn't write a great ***** (5+) review prior to this! That's how I felt before bringing my girlfriend in today. I introduced my gf to the woman working. My gf had a special request. However, something seemed off, this was not the same friendly welcoming I had always received prior so many times before. The woman brought in bras but never adjusted these bras. I brought my gf in because one of your specialties is that you fit women so wonderfully, making us feel so great. This did not happen!! In fact my gf felt worse by the time she left! I was so upset. The woman standing at the counter, asked 'how did things work for you?' Never has that ever happened before! If she had any involvement she would have known everything didn't fit. At one point she brought in something SMALLER when the first bra was too small to begin with! Such a disappointment! Feminine, flirty, fun, and classic... If this is your style and you need some new under things, this is the store for you. I found this place completely by accident but was pleasantly surprised. The prices were affordable. Okay with that said, there are definitely items you "could" splurge on but luckily everything that I picked up was right on target for price if not lower than what I had expected. Nicer quality than what chain, mall lingerie clothing stores carry. The lady who was working there was eager to help me find the right combination of what I needed. I'm self proclaimed president of the "Itty bitty t***y committee" and just recently stopped nursing my first daughter which led to a massive change of shape and size. When I first heard that Amoureuse changed hands this spring (2013), I was worried. I loved the service and selection. WhenI finally dragged myself in, I was pleasantly surprised. The store has a nice, simple uncluttered feel to it. It also now boasts a back room with housewares and linens. Some of the items you might find as you venture in Amoureuse's back room (which boasts a small sitting area off the back patio -a great place for hubbies to wait patiently as you shop) are Pine Cone Hill sheets, stemware, bowls, a small selection of young children's (0-2 years) clothes, aprons, kitchen towels, and some great bags. The proprietor has also continued the tradition of great service and a warm welcome. read more

An adorable store I stumbled onto--and got into lots of trouble at. My road trip partner was taking his time at the tobacco store across the street (also very nice!) and so I wandered in after seeing the lingerie in the window and developing an unstoppable but ladylike charge directly from where I happened to be standing, through traffic, and into the store. Immediately I spot some adorable vintage-inspired sets that are codesigned by Bernie Dexter (a modern pin-up model) and Lucy-B lingerie, and the gorgeous Aubade set (from the summer 2008 collection) I ended up going home with. They also have a small selection of apparel and a huge selection of bath and fragrance items, all very feminine, high quality, and lovely. This is a great store for a man to find a gift for his ladyfriend or even his mom. They didn't have the hugest selection of sizes but I was able to find everything I needed, and even passed up a few great buys for the sake of not digging into my shoe budget from my lingerie budget. The store owner was there as was a friendly and adorable rockabilly inspired gal who helped me find the right sizes while sporting a mini pomp and talking about how the photographer at her latest pin up shoot was so happy about her lingerie supply. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Santa Cruz or even call for some of the vintage inspired stuff that was absolutely adorable. read more

But I don't appreciate that the last 3 times I've come to the store the attendant tells me " I'm closing in 15 minutes, or the store is about to close" very rude to the customers who are trying support a female owned business.. When Jennifer ( owner was at the the store) she was so courteous and inviting that would make me feel to come back many times. This is the most uninviting store I have ever stepped foot in. The two girls working didn't even look at me when I walked in and I had to greet them myself just to make the situation a little more comfortable. I stayed in the store for a few minutes just to see if they would ask me if I needed help looking for anything, but all I received were dismissive, snotty glares. I will say, they have gorgeous bras and lingerie, but despite their quality products, I would never purchase anything here based on principle. Horrible hours. Who can get here between 11am and 5:30pm? For some of us who aren't available on weekends, it is a serious bummer. Service is spotty. I've experienced snotty and rude, but sometimes I get lucky and get someone who genuinely wants to help me. Prices are considerably higher than any place i've shopped at before. I understand it's "designer", but doesn't mean I can't complain about it. I have yet to buy anything here because I feel unwelcome and it's out of my price range. read more

I visited this lovely boutique for the first time today and was very impressed by the selection, customer service, ambiance and brand selection!! The store owner Sally warmly greeted me and my dog as we entered the store. I first noticed the place is very classy and she carries some of my favorite brands, such as Cosabelle as well as many other high-end products. Adriane found me the perfect bra that I can work in and dress up in, while not worrying about the girls flying all over the place. Prices might be more expensive than shops at the mall but service is great, owner is very friendly and helpful and I like to support small mom n pop shops. I bought my first item here when I was 15 and this place was under different ownership. Years later I still come here and love it even more! Pretty much the best place for cute undies in SC! Myself, my mom, and my sister in law all love this place and frequently pick up things for ourselves, or as gifts. Best place to find amazing perfumes you haven't heard of before or get some pretty underthings. Their gift selection has really gotten great as well. The owner is often working here, and she might be one of the only business owners in Santa Cruz with the common sense to be open on days like Valentine's Day until late, perfect for last min gifts. This place is a very good place to buy bras. If you happen to live in the Santa Cruz area, then you know that the mall had a few big chains in which you could reliably find a decent well made reasonably priced bra. Then two of the major stores shut down and we were left with fewer options. I stumbled into this place and am now a major fan. One, great customer service (they will fit you, advise you, order for you, etc.) and two, cool bras that are way more stylish and interesting that what they have at say, Macy's. I went to an early dinner on the east side of Santa Cruz with five friends last night and we saw that Amoureuse was still open. We learned that the shop is under new ownership, and the owner couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We immediately asked about the amazing art piece that we had seen from the window (silkscreened lingerie hanging from a black clothesline), and were told it was by local artist. The merchandise is beautiful (lingerie, bedding, scarves, bags, jewelry, etc.) -- a great place to find a gift, or to indulge in something beautifully made for yourself. We all tried a few things on, and made some great purchases. We had a wonderful time. This place is a real gem!! read more

I am so incredibly stoked that I found this store! I went to every single lingerie store in Santa Cruz and this was by far my favorite. Sally was so kind and helpful, but not overbearing. I felt so comfortable around her and we chatted easily together. she also gave me my space which I Love and appreciate and she was there when I had questions. She has great taste and carries almost all of my favorite designers. Cosabella & Eberjay, just to name a couple. I bought 2 pairs of Cosabella panties and they are the most sexiest comfortable pairs I've ever owned. (So glad i bought 2)! I also bought a really nice bra that was made in France and is both sexy (lingerie sexy) and versatile. I can actually wear it daily because it is comfortable and it does the job! I was truly disappointed by my experience at Amoureuse. After reading all of the great reviews I was excited, and as a bride-to-be I thought it the perfect excuse to check it out for myself and pick up some fun pieces. I agree with all of the other reviews in that the merchandise and selection are quite charming and super cute. I usually head to San Francisco to find cute boutiques like this one and was happy to save on a trip! I was looking for a specific item (a bra/girdle) to wear under my wedding dress. The owner was super nice, suggested things,brought me things in the fitting room, etc. I mentioned I was thinking about Spanx and she said she had something even better. I tried on the item she brought me,but didn't love it. As I was explaining this to her, she was eyeing the garment and took it out of my hands and asked "what's this?". I had no idea what she was talking about while she jabbed at a pin prick sized spot on the garment. That's when she flipped the switch-no more nice, charming sales lady. She went on to say that she would never give a customer a damaged item to try on and accused me, saying that I must have gotten something on it. She looked me over (really!), trying to figure out how I got something on it. She took my hands and examined them (yes, really) and saw that one of my fingers had a tiny cut on it (I had trouble with the clasp on the bra-it was complicated and had several parts and I must have nicked my finger while doing that). She said that I would now have to buy the item and that it was a final sale (it cost $130, which I'm fine paying for an garment I actually want). Not knowing what else to do, I paid for it and left. Even though I was less than thrilled with it, I thought I could make it work until I got home and tried it on with the dress and it shows at the top, so I can't even wear it! I'm bummed because I was going to register there for my shower, but now would rather take my business elsewhere, where I'm not treated so poorly. I guess it's back to San Francisco, where along with my quality products I can trust to receive quality service. Some advice to the owner: You sell wonderful products which by reputation will sell themselves. Only you can prevent sales. read more
