I became a regular at the store and sadly moved away in the beginning of 2025. But I still purchase items for work through them because the prices cannot be beat. FMJ is like no other military surplus store I've ever been to. The selection is better than anything I've seen. Over the years I've collected many different items. Some for work, others for my home office collection. But every time I enter the store, for better or worse I always leave with something. They stay busy on social media as well and are very interactive. Check them out on Instagram if you have one, sometimes you can see some of the surplus on there before it hits their shelves. Easiest 5/5 stars I've ever given. Next time I'm in the DMV I will be stopping by. It's tradition at this point.

The two staff members who've assisted me in this store were very helpful, honest, and knowledgeable about the products available. As I was pulling into the parking lot I thought the store was closed due to half of the windows being boarded up. Apparently they are doing construction. I walked in and was greeted by someone named Janette. She was extremely friendly and very helpful. There was a young lady in the dressing room and she grab the wrong size and Janette was eager to help her by getting her the sizes she needed. I needed new scrubs for a new job and decided since I was losing weight I want to try them on in person so I went where I knew I always had gotten great service. I was sadly disappointed. I walked in and the guy behind the counter did not acknowledge my presence in the slightest. I in fact did not even know he was there (I thought someone might be in the back) until he moved when a person who came in after me addressed him. When they left a moment later he went right back to leaning on the counter on his phone. Initially, I was going to continue my journey and try some things on but I changed my mind. I would need help with the shirts high up and he didn't seem like he would want to help with that. I put the pants back on a rack and left. I will just order from somewhere else. I would not recommend this place unless they take a customer service course.

I had to ask if I was talking to Scrubs and Beyond as she did not identify herself or the store. She said "yeah" again. When I asked the hours, she said till 7. I went in, she was talking to a friend, never acknowledged me until I was walking back out the door with nothing. Then she said, oh....did you need something? I asked about the Cherokee line as I've seen it on the website and wanted to try some on. She immediately got stiff and said we do t carry them. I said, oh just not in store? She said no, we don't have a contract with them. So, then we had to show her their own website! She then says "go ahead and try to order it, it probable won't ship out" So, we just left. If you can get over lackluster customer service, or if all you're wanting is to just try things on in person so you order online to get a better deal, then go here since there aren't many storefronts anymore.
