The plate is three cuts of beef tenderloin cooked in a Malbec reduction, Chardonnay reduction and truffle flavored bacon wrap. The staff were all friendly (even to a small group of non-Italian speaking Americans), they quickly sat us in a prime spot out on the patio. They then brought us the menu and the English abbreviated version and Serena (out wonderful guide through this culinary delight) explained the specials that weren't listed on the English version. After a few minutes of looking and discussion we took her recommendations on antipasti and main dishes, great choices. The entire meal was superb, from the fried Brie and smoked prosciutto starters to the bone in ribeye, all of which were delicious. Then comes dessert, after asking and making some selections she returns with not only what we ordered but also one of the dishes we were asking about (on the house so that we could try it). As they were closing in 2 days for the summer break there were a few things they were out of, however this didn't dissuade her from looking for one of the scotches we were interested in, which she found for us, she also brought us a small flight of local digestifs to sample as well (again just so we knew what we were or were not missing). Talk about service, between her attention, recommendations, and additions to our choices, out entire table had nothing but smiles and appreciation. First of all, the handrolls are massive. For a small handroll, you get something that you will need 2 hands to hold so that the stuff inside doesn't fall out. 2 small handrolls is enough for one person and they give a lot of fish, not too much rice. Really great portion. Fish are fresh and flavors are there, the only thing missing, wasabi. Key key ingredient in sushi! On each table, they give you toasted black and white sesame seeds, soy sauce and ponzu sauce. Flat wooden chopsticks .. very strange. Now if this place was in LA, I wouldn't become a regular but if I lived in Milan, I can see myself coming here regularly for some sushi fix. They got juice on the menu but the portions are tiny for what you pay for, unlike their handrolls. Regular sushi rolls are a good portion as well but I think there's too much mayo (or whichever sauce the chef puts that's similar to mayo) but otherwise has potential. Tuna and salmon handrolls were good and so was the ceviche. I would recommend getting a handroll as your first order then order more when needed. Location is great, right by the small and only canal in Milan. No Asians in sight that works here, funny, given how the quality is.

Complete with a beautiful garden and the finest of arts, we thought... time to rejuvenate! Our assorted meat appetizer was heaven in the sliced form. Salami and prosciutto and everything nice. Only in Italy can the preserved meat-form reach taste sensations like this. Add a bit of bread and extra virgin and you have reached the pinnacle of appetizers. Then, my Cesar salad took fresh organic lettuce, raw egg, anchovies, and perhaps a touch of Worcestershire, salt and pepper, combined in an emulsion of wonderful to bring taste to a whole new level. Even more, the taste was propelled by Grana Padano, the second best cheese on the planet - all due respect to Parmigianio Reggianio. Topped off with espresso, our two hour lunch filled us with energy to renew our shopping excursion. We look forward to returning!
