For this place being in Milan, they are very good. There aren't many Japanese restaurants around here and even if there are, the quality is never good. This location surprised me. First of all, the handrolls are massive. For a small handroll, you get something that you will need 2 hands to hold so that the stuff inside doesn't fall out. 2 small handrolls is enough for one person and they give a lot of fish, not too much rice. Really great portion. Fish are fresh and flavors are there, the only thing missing, wasabi. Key key ingredient in sushi! On each table, they give you toasted black and white sesame seeds, soy sauce and ponzu sauce. Flat wooden chopsticks .. very strange. Now if this place was in LA, I wouldn't become a regular but if I lived in Milan, I can see myself coming here regularly for some sushi fix. They got juice on the menu but the portions are tiny for what you pay for, unlike their handrolls. Regular sushi rolls are a good portion as well but I think there's too much mayo (or whichever sauce the chef puts that's similar to mayo) but otherwise has potential. Tuna and salmon handrolls were good and so was the ceviche. I would recommend getting a handroll as your first order then order more when needed. Location is great, right by the small and only canal in Milan. No Asians in sight that works here, funny, given how the quality is. read more

I did not expect to eat such good sushi in Milan! It was definitely a treat. I'm writing this review awhile after I've been there so I actually don't remember which rolls I had -- but it was delicious! The chopsticks made me chuckle...! Temakinho is a hard place to review. On the one hand, and in my perfectly unprofessional opinion, this place is more hype than anything else. The fish is fresh, yes, and the caipirinha's are pretty bomb. But the seating is uncomfortable, there's almost always too many people, and it's expensive for what it is (a completely informal albeit trendy eatery). On the other hand, by Milan sushi standards, it's solid. Like, compare this to a mid-range sushi place in NYC, Boston, or Miami, and it's completely dead in the water (combinations are uninspiring, assembly and presentation is slightly sloppy, and options are rather limited). But for Milan, where it's common to see CANNED TUNA in sushi (seriously, WTF??!!) and Chinese joints turn into Japanese seemingly overnight, it's a great option in the area. Good, fresh sushi is hard to beat. Mix it with Brazilian flavors and exotic cocktails and you get Temakinho. The fish is always fresh, the drinks are spot on. Yes, it's a bit chaotic but when I was there it was mainly couples, so no problem. 1 temaki + 1 roll + drink adds up to ~20€ each. Considered the quality of the food and the prices around I'd say it's one of the best places to eat in Milano. My favorites: Salmao Gustoso Roll and Salmao Picante Temaki. read more

Came to try out the food and drinks pre dinner. The roll and tartar (more like a poke bowl) was good. No complaints and worth the 10€ per roll. Fresh and the sushi rice had the right amount of vinegar. Drinks are light and crisp as well. If you're craving sushi by the canal then this is a great spot! read more

Wow, what a disappointment. After having seen another Temakinho location I was very enthusiastic about trying it. But if I did not know it is a chain, I would say this is a total tourist trap. I am a big fan of Brazilian sushi and Brazilian food in general, and this place does neither well. We ordered a temaki with salmon and cream cheese, which turned out to contain just rice and a strange substance which appeared to be salmon MIXED with cream cheese. We also ordered acai na tigela (which was listed as a dessert), and it arrived completely melted and containing so little acai that it tasted mostly of banana - very old banana. We didn't even finish it, despite the fact that it was small and very expensive. The one positive thing was that the guayaba caipirinha was pretty tasty and actually tasted of the fruit, though it contained too much sugar and too little cachaca. The service was very slow and not so attentive. At all of the toilets there was no paper or soap or cleanliness. Prices were ridiculously high for the quality, and in addition they dared to add a 3 euro service charge. Never again. read more
