For the main course we had a their specialty, a risotto made from quinoa, and the stuffed red pepper. Both dishes were delicious. I especially love the stuffed pepper, it was chock full of a beef and mushroom stuffing. Underneath was a neat concoction of two slices of potato with a fried egg in between, and cheese around the edges. We didn't speak Italian, but the servers were all extremely nice and did not rush us at all. Overall wonderful experience.

It was so bad that, within 10 minutes from sitting down and with (barely) our welcoming drinks on the table we begged to be moved outside (where a fleet of mosquitoes had a banquet with our calves). The waitress was ever so nice and attentive. The head waitress even more apologetic and aiming to remedy. Our table of 6 each got a welcome drink. Each chose a different dish and each rather enjoyed our choices. I was not particularly impressed with my tamales, too little a portion of meat and a MEAN hot chili which looked and felt like a tomatoes but HOLY GUACAMOLE was it HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT. My mixed cheviche was not as lemony as the one I ADORED at the other peruvian restaurant (some 300 meters away, in viale Tibaldi). My cousin got some great pork chops (new addition to the menu). Her uncle got a roasted chicken with 4 different sauces (me likey them ALL). My mum got the amor y pasion cheviche she really enjoyed. I truly do recommend to get the AMOR Y PASION cocktail. .. it sneaks up on ya!!!! Truly sweet but dang is high proof... All in all, it would have had 4 stars had it NOT been for the extremely loud live music. Reminder to self, go back when there's no music performer. Let me tell you, this place is amazing, and as a Peruvian girl it's always a challenge to find good Peruvian food. 100% recommended to come to La Peña de Pocho !! The food was delicious, the Pisco sour ( which is also super hard to find, and that has authentic pisco taste) was so yummy!! The service is great and ambiance was fun too. If you are Peruvian , come here for some authentic Peruvian food! If you are not Peruvian and would like to discover authentic Peruvian cuisine , this is the place to go!
