Meaxican breakfast and lunch The menu could use some work, There is no description on the choices. The prices of the options are good. We got the: pancake plate (pancakes, eggs, bacon and potatoes dices), eggs your way(eggs, potatoes, bacon) rancheros huevos included tortillas your choice and chorizo plate ( chorizo, beans and potatoes) The portions of each plate was plenty and then some. However the food was cold when we got it. The "hot" green sauce isn't hot at all but had good flavor. Service was good though. read more

Heck yes,,,, sopapias! Only not sopapias!?? Still good , more of a fried donut without the hole. A fried lump a dough if you will. Sliced strawberries are on top and whipped cream on either side. The food here was super good so was the chips, salsa and Service. A small little restaurant with a small parking lot. Kinda unassuming, but extremely good. I recommend giving them a shot. I almost forgot, the tortillas are homemade, which is very, very important in a Mexican food restaurant. read more

Cozy place with homemade Mexican food. I had the beef fajitas with homemade flour tortillas. All parts of my meal were delicious and my coworkers got the soup of the day and both enjoyed it. We finished with soapapillas and lemonade. The aqua Fresca was also very tasty. We will be coming back!! read more

Good food, not so good service. Had the service been better we might consider coming back. Poor service will surely make us think twice

Lower your expectations for authentic Mexican food, queso is literally canned nacho cheese. Everything else was hardly edible, very bland and lacking flavor. Salsa and chips were the highlight of the experience. Service was fine, but would look elsewhere for good Mexican food in sweetwater. read more

Food was dry and overcooked. Food had no love in it what so ever. Nothing had a wow factor just basic dishes with absolutely no flavor that represents your style. I'm being fair in a two star rating because maybe people never had good Mexican food but this is not it. This is here to take your money and that is all. I would have had better Mexican at Taco Bell. Service was slow and the ambiance is typical read more

Asada was pretty good but everything else was kind of blah. Service was very slow. Something about it just seemed off, it wasn't terrible but there is probably much better in town. read more

Good food, great service, nice ambiance. Will definitely return here in the future. Nice place for lunch, great variety of Mexican and American dishes. read more

The dishes are consistently good, and very nice portions. The customer service is the only thing that makes you want to stay away. The waitresses prefer to play on their phones, and gossip rather than do their job. read more

Amole Restaurant - Enchiladas - Mexican Near Me - Sweetwater, Texas

I'm giving this place two starts instead of one because the quality of the food was still good but our order was completely wrong and we were also missing items that we already PAID for. We ordered burritos and chips and queso. The burritos were missing meat in some and we did not get our chips and queso. The girl that took our order in the drive threw must of been new. If you order Togo here, I suggest you check your order before leaving to make sure it is correct. read more

Stopped here for breakfast. In short I didn't see many options available nearby. The place is in an older building boarder line heading towards run down but I've eaten at some good places with a similar aesthetic. Service was a little slow, at one point the waitress was ok the phone while dropping off food and cashing us out so not the best. I thought they had a good breakfast selection and the star was probably their pancakes. Their pancake plate is pretty classic and my kids enjoyed it. If you have to stop and eat it's an ok place if you can fight off the hunger you may was to find another spot to eat read more

Absolutely loved the hand made tortillas and smoking hot platters served! My husband and I would definitely come back while we are still In town. My husbands boss recommended this place and sure enough, it met our expectations! read more

Just had the breakfast burritos, they are very large and pretty good. Reasonably priced and the service was fast.

Foods good. But the service is egh as in none of the staff acknowledges your existence. They just stare at you till you sit and hand you menus. Very rarely do they check up on the customers. No proper restaurant etiquette. read more

There are not many places to eat in Sweatwater at 4:30pm.... however... Amole's restaurant was open. We took a chance. Since we had been driving many hours, I immediately bolted to the lady's room while my husband found us a table. Bathroom: Dirty. Diluted hand soap (I think it was water). Table: Mostly clean. Chips: Greasy (pass on the chips). Red salsa lacked flavor. Green salsa tasted sour. Why did we continue?!? Dinner: Husband had the Suiza enchiladas with red sauce. He loved them! Licked the plate clean. The meal was served with rice and beans. He loved it all. I had the Amole steak. The peppers and cactus with the skirt streak were all really good. Nicely seasoned. Beans and rice were tasty. Would we come back? Maybe. They have some needed improvements to be done but the entrees had great flavor. read more

Slow service and wasn't even crowed, "hot sauce" was basically tomato paste. Street tacos had hardly any carne asada in them and no flavor in the "red sauce" at all. "Mexican Food" lol read more

Haven't been there since I was a kid and I went back and the food and service was amazing as always. Definitely gonna come here alot more often. read more

Traveling thru and looking for a place for dinner. Had been a rough day. Found this small place and decided to stop in. SO GLAD WE DID. When you start with fresh great chips and salsa, you know the rest will be good. And it was. Fresh homemade enchiladas with great sauce and cheese. Love this place and will remember it is in Sweetwater Tx when I am going that way. All staff were super friendly and humble when we raved over their establishment. Hope to be back someday soon. read more

What a great place to eat. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal tonight of stacked beef enchiladas. The chips and salsa was fantastic. I've eaten at a lot of Mexican food joints around the country after living in Texas, Arizona and Nevada, and this was one of the best. read more

walked in and ordered daily special as advertised above register. the man running register would not give it to me for advertised price as he said it was not taken down from prior day. This was at 7:45p.m. I asked him to honor price as it's advertised for that price. He did not call a manager at all to ask or try to correct their mistake. He said no. I told him I ordered it because of sign and said it now my fault you still have it advertised. He blurted back "well it's not my problem either. I canceled my order and figured they don't seem to want or need me to be a custimer anymore. will not set foot in that uncustomer friendly restaurant again. read more

They didn't have omelets on the menu but I asked if they could make one and they made one of the best omelettes I've ever had. Fresh chips and salsa. Service was great. I will definitely be back. read more

The chicken fajita quesadillas are AMAZING! They make their tortillas from scratch! This place also serves breakfast all day long.

This place was awesome! We stopped for breakfast on our way to Colorado. Big portions of #1 and #7. Loved the tortillas! Satisfied with everything. Waitress was friendly and courteous. read more

Passing through on way to Ft Worth and we were hungry but didn't know where to go so stopped here due to their ratings. The guacamole was fresh and the chips warm. My chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce were tasty but could use a bit more sauce. My husbands Asada steak was very tasty also and the refried beans were also great. Portions were large so neither of us finished our food. read more

Amole was good. Large portions! Cheap prices! The food was good, traditional mexican, kinda soupy. I'd recommend this place if you're just driving though Sweetwater. read more

The place was full and people seem happy to be there. The place is an old taco villa from the 80's and the only thing they did was put in more tables. The area where you used to order from is now tables and the isles is now tables .They have managed to squeeze as many tables in as possible in turn crowding everyone. I ordered the Amole special #13. A person would think if it's there special that carries their name it would be special. On top of the tamale, enchilada, beans and rice they throw on a taco. Even the short time from kitchen to the table the taco became part of the dish. No consideration on setting it on the side in a paper wrapper that all the fast chains do because of this issue. The salsa was good but the chips were stale. The busyness may be due to it being Sunday and everything is closed. I will not be back. read more

The people are very nice but the food is terrible. My husband and I ate a couple of bites and decided to leave and go somewhere else. Not only that, it is WAYYYYYY over priced. We were hoping for a good Mexican place in Sweetwater but we didn't find it here. read more

My husband and I really enjoy the Caldo soup that is offered only on Mondays. It consist of chunks of beef stew meat, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and small pieces of corn on the cob. Served with flour or corn tortillas and rice. Very tasty. read more

The food is consistently great. The service is horrible. Waitresses are sitting at tables looking at their phones, on their phones in the kitchen, completely ignoring tables needing refills, dirty tables, etc. read more

The Carnitas plate was very good, crispy big hunks of pork. A lot of food for $8 . Homemade tortillas. Would definitely come back.

The salsa was just OK. The guacamole was real and good. Cheese enchiladas were tasty (great red sauce). Awesome beans and rice. All in all, a great plate of food. The service was OK. They were a little rude and even shocked that we were vegetarians. They could barely believe (or stomach the fact that we did not want steak). They were, however, pretty friendly and inquisitive with us as we got the impression many outsiders don't make it to the restaurant. It's a few miles off I-20 so you have to make a bit of an effort to get there. What's cool about it is seeing this old, little town, a ruined drive-in theatre, old shut down diners. Sleepsville, but a fun diversion from the oil-scented hum drum of I-20. read more

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to revise my previous good review. (Rant mode engaged): Apparently, I'm invisible. This is the third and last time I'm going to be ignored here, because I won't be back. Twice, in a virtually empty restaurant, They never even took my to go order, despite having to walk around me to get past while I waited patiently at the kiosk. This time, they at least took my to go order of 2 orders of Caldo, but I had problems getting across that I wanted a single cheese Quesadilla with them for a side (which is listed on the menu as a "side"). That shouild have been a omen of things to come. After paying, and giving a 20% tip, I finally got the Caldo after about 10 minutes (really? They just have to dip it out of a pot into a couple of foam cups!) I stood there like an idiot patiently waiting for the single Quesadilla. After about another 10 minutes they told me that my quesadilla was almost ready, and then the wait staff basically disappeared. I waited another 5 minutes, and I just left. So they basically got a $8 tip for barely any service ($4 for the missing Quesadilla, $4 for the normal 20% tip). I would have understood if they were busy, but for all three times, they only had at max 3 tables in use. This time only two, and one was already done and they left while I was waiting. This was my favorite Mexican restaurant here at one time, I'm sad to see go this way. read more

The food has always been okay to good, but their policies really make the experience a super downer. Oft times they make you sit in the small anteroom instead of opening up the larger more comfortable room. What is amazingly negative is that they often won't make coffee for the customer, even at dinnertime, because they "have just washed their coffee pot"!! I can hardly believe this reasoning! This has happened not a few times. Sometimes when they do allow patrons in the larger room, they start stacking the chairs up all around you if you happen to be the last table in there. That is extremely rude and certainly makes you feel like you're not welcome. "Come on, finish up, and get out of here, so we can close up this room", that's how it feels. We'll likely never return there. Very sad, because there are so few local restaurants who serve beer and have at least decent food, but these policies are too much. We used to go there frequently, but don't go if you want to feel welcome. read more

Today was not so good here. The meat was greasy, tacos soggy. Beans under everything. Best part of meal was the tea and chips. Dissapointed

Waitress brought chips and salsa immediately. Brought drinks but we were not ready to order. About 10 minutes later we flagged her down and said we were ready to order. She said wait just a moment. Another 5 minutes went by and then we saw the ROACH on the wall next to our table...we left! read more
