We noticed this SVP Sports store. We never got around to visit it. I have been to the SVP Sports store in Scarborough. Yesterday, I was back in Whitby to check out Kitchen Stuff Plus. I then visited this SVP Sports, which is two doors down. My guess is that this store is fairly new. The Scarborough location has the wall of shame showing the mugshots of folks who have banned from all SVP stores. This one didn't have such a wall. I walked in and got a nice welcome greeting from a male staffer. It was great. The Scarborough location doesn't do that. The men's section greeted me. I wanted the women's section. I ended up walking over to the sports bag section. There was the cutest Nike lavender duffle bag. I didn't need it, but it was on sale and I liked what I saw. The shoe section is amazing. I like checking out the clearance section. Had a pair of Adidas Mary Jane's been in my size, I would have bought them without an afterthought. I found a Nike lavender t-shirt that was in my size and was 45% off in price. Sold! I lined up to pay for my t-shirt. The caps are behind the checkout counter. I got a nice woman at the checkout. I paid with a credit card. If you want a paper bag, it's 25 cents. I declined and thanked the woman. Three staffers at the door wished me a great day as I was heading out the door. Wow! I loved shopping here. There's so much warmth from staffers. (64)

Our search for solid wood furniture in the regular big box stores, and on Dundas street in Mississauga, and Kennedy in Scarborough has bee long and frustrating journey, consequently we started searching for custom solid maple bed-set solution as a reasonable price, and they delivered. What they delivered far exceeded our expectations. We were extremely happy to tip them. And a few months later they are now working on a custom home office desk, and wall cabinets for both sides of our fireplace - I'll post a review and photos for those projects once delivered and installed. It is truly exciting waiting to see what they will deliver this time around!! Thumbs up!!

After having a massive lunch at Philthy Philly's, I waddled out the door and saw this huge Dollar Tree. My eyes lit up. They were the most energetic part of me. I continued my slow waddle over in a self-induced carb overdose, as the store was calling my name. Sure, Canadian Dollar Tree stores do not have a frozen foods section like the ones across the border do. Yes, it's weird that all items are $1.25 and not a loonie. However, the variety is decent and it makes me happy looking at all the merchandise. I can afford stuff! I tend to get gift bags and tissue paper here. I grabbed a couple of bags for upcoming gifts that I need to dish out. I also got a couple of cans of Diet Coke for $1.25. I have bought Coke products here and they are good. The quality is decent for a dollar store. You do get brand names like Sistema and Kinder. There are some low-carb options, such as pepperoni sticks and Joseph's sugar-free cookies. You can also get special balloons here. Staff will fill them up with helium for you. They look great, are cheap, and are of decent quality. The cashier was helpful and competent. Credit and debit cards, and cash are all accepted here. This plaza has plenty of parking. I typically visit the Starbucks in this plaza when I am in Whitby. I like this store a ton. I'm a fan. (116)

In Ajax, at this plaza with a bunch of box stores, the Winners and HomeSense stores are diagonally across from each other. We dropped by on a Monday, the day after New Year's Day, in the afternoon. It wasn't packed, but there were several shoppers when we dropped by. It was weird seeing Valentine's Day merchandise. I've been so used to seeing Christmas items for months that this transition took some time. I did love the pink and red gnomes. My friend was looking for a side table that she could place next to her bed. There were many to choose from, but the size wasn't what she was looking for. I suggested that she hit a Kitchen Plus Stuff store that might have the size that she's looking for. We browsed around. I liked looking at kitchen gadgets. I found the shiniest can opener and ice cream scoop. They matched in colour! I also enjoyed looking at the snacks, from vegan gummies, to Laura Secord chocolate bars. Yum! My friend found a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle that she liked. She scooped it up without any hesitation. It was cool that I didn't buy a thing and she did. Normally, it's the reverse. Then again, I had done some damage at Winners and she didn't. We were even. The woman at the cashier was nice. The jigsaw puzzle was $5.75 with tax. She paid with cash and change. It was such a throwback to me. I rarely have cash on me, especially during this pandemic. My friend was extremely happy with her purchase. I was happy that she found a good deal. (7)

Every area had been taken over - the home decor, kitchen supplies, and even the pillows and artwork. You have to look carefully at each of the items. Browsing the mugs, there were little chips or poor printing. This theme kind of followed throughout the store where there were little defects on different items throughout the store. I was impressed that they had some officially licensed items that were Disney and Peanuts. They have a ton of checkouts so even though the line is pretty long, it moves decently fast. Also, the line snakes through a bunch of shelves so it isn't too boring when you're moving through.
