It's now June so I've had time to settle in with my carpet and wanted to provide a review of the experience. I read lots of reviews and research things to death before I make a decision so I don't give people a high rating just to be "nice". I also consider myself to be be a little hard to please because I'm used to doing a lot of work on my home myself and I have a high standard of quality while being thrifty. That being said, I shopped around a few quotes and came back to FlooringRVA. Long story short...I felt the price I paid for what I wanted was spot on. I had a good experience with the two man crew that came to install the carpet and padding. And 6 months later things are still meeting my expectations. Robert, the owner, was the real reason behind going with FlooringRVA a second time. He personally came to measure and offer suggestions. I preferred to text and Robert made himself available at all times throughout the day when I had questions. I didn't always expect an immediate response but one was always received. I could tell he and his staff were committed to my being satisfied throughout every step in the process and I couldn't find that level of customer focus with any other competitor. They said they would send a check to cover the cost of the painting (previously, the sent the painter out and had him bill their business). The check has yet to arrive and I question whether it will actually cover the cost of the paint job, should it ever actually come.

They spent over an hour with me, explained the different types of carpeting, assisted with selections, and allowed me to take home samples (and even carried them to my car). Though it…read moreis too early to determine the long term quality of the work and materials I can share my impressions of L&M thus far. So far I am very impressed with this company. They were EXTREMELY patient with us as we took a considerable amount of time making a decision on this project. Tons of emailed questions were answered (we worked with Laurel before she left and then Rosa), helpful information was always provided, and no pressure was ever applied while we made a decision. We made numerous visits to borrow floor samples and they were very good at educating us on the various things to consider when making our decision. The only negative was the amount of time between when we placed the order and when the installation was done. But I suspect the currently environment regarding the supply chain issues is beyond their control. The installers were very professional. The lead guy checked with me to confirm the direction we preferred the planks. Even though the order clearly stated the proper direction for the planks he was given different instructions. HOWEVER, because he was conscientious enough to check with me first BEFORE beginning the install, a potential problem was averted. From what I can tell, the work was done well. I haven't noticed any issues so far. They cleaned up after themselves (both inside and outside). Again, what stood out to me was the professionalism of their sales staff. Perfect balance between following up to make sure we didn't have any unanswered questions and giving us space to make this decision at a pace we were comfortable with. Going back through the emails, we began this process on 11/30/20 and didn't finalize anything until 8/17/21 (that's a long time to work with a potential client with no guarantee of a sale). We had three other companies visit our home to take measurements and provide quotes. L&M was the only company to stay in touch during our decision making process. Sometimes once you have all the data and facts it just comes down to which company gives you the best vibes (including online reviews). My gut said to go with L&M and so far so good.
