With all the great amenities that comes with the PURE name, CWB location has one thing working to their favor against other locations, space! Their entrance is located on the 16th floor of the Lee Theater Building, PURE is actually 3 levels!! The first of the 3 levels, the top floor, is mainly reception, lockers, and the food bar. The reception is always super nice and friendly. I request certain lockers in this locations because there are so many lockers, I've just grown accustomed to certain ones. I find the lockers closer to the showers just easier to access and convenient. The staff here never have an issue with helping me on that. The locker room here are equipped with TVs, phone charging stations, work out clothing (including socks) and a good number of showers. There is never a need to wait for a vacant shower stall. The sauna and steam room here is a bit on a small side, but still very clean and accessible. The food bar is tended by some nice staff members that can mix a good shake for you after an intense workout. They also have some nice salads on offer along with wraps and small sandwiches. All fairly healthy choices at a reasonable price. One level down, you will find yourself on the floor where they have one room for their cycling classes and another room for one hour classes with instructors. This is also the section where you will find the boxing training available to you if you'd like. On the last level, you will have your weights and treadmills and cross trainers. There is never a wait for machines here which is great!! I also love that very rarely, you will have someone working out RIGHT next to you. I love the space! There is also a space for you to do your stretches in peace without people walking back and forth. PURE in CWB is ideal for those who want to get a serious work out in your day without feeling cramped. LOVE!
Burning off all those CNY meals.

They offer a variety of classes - Hatha, Vinyasa, Aerial Yoga, hot classes and others. The studio allows for natural light to flow in so its quite nice in the mornings, compared to other dark and dim yoga rooms. The studio can accommodate two classes at the same time as there is a mirror divider that runs through the middle of the space.

Utime wins the price game, however. For $549 HKD/month, you get 24-hour access to a facility offering the newest cardio, strength, and free weight equipment. There are no contracts to tie you down, and the monthly rate gets you access to both locations (there's another one in Sai Ying Pun). If you want to work with a trainer, Utime's got 'em. They offer a clean and modern environment conducive to just getting it done... your workout, that is! The manager is a super friendly guy who'll take you on the comprehensive tour and answer all of your questions. I wouldn't mind more amenities, but I also enjoy holding on to more of my money. Utime's a good call for those looking for a nice but no-frills type of gym.

I am never a sporty person, nor am I a frequent visitor of public sports centers; however, I have…read morebeen to this sports center in particular more than any other sports centers in Hong Kong. Do not be mistaken, this is not a convenient place to go to; the nearest MTR station would be Kwun Tong but it still takes another means of public transport to get there. There are bus that goes directly to Shun Lee estate from the island side but it take quite awhile to reach the terminus. Unlike other sports centers, the one in Shun Lee Estate has an area dedicated especially for gymnastic practices. And you have guessed it, I have been there to learn gymnastics and that was why the many a visits. The area for gymnastic practice is a lot more than just a room; the entire space is covered with carpet to provide soft landing. There are trampolines, beams and other equipment for the training; also because of that, there are a lot of professionals practicing there and it is quite amazing to witness people doing amazing tricks and flips; but at the same time as I was learning how to do those tricks, it was very frustrating and depressing at the same time. Nonetheless it was an eye opening experience and to be able to feel the atmosphere and space of the gymnastic area; although not being able to do any of those tricks, stepping on the carpet is quite an experience.
Being a part of the dancing community means that you have to actively look for spaces and studios…read morefor rehearsal; whether the place is suitable for dancing is one thing, whether the rent is affordable is another. Rents for dance studios in government sports centers are guaranteed to be cheap, although extra bucks are required in renting their audio sets, but the sum of these is still far lower than that of renting private studios for an hour. Because it is so affordable and economical, these studios are always fully booked and you have to get up early in the morning (like 7 am) to book online; there are even some hardcore fanatics that get up at 5 in the morning to go line up at the entrance of the sport center to book. Right, I might have been sidetracked too much, back to this sports center in particular. Due to recent rehearsal, I have finally set foot into this center that I have not even heard of before. Truth be told, Po Kong Village is as unfamiliar a name as a place abroad; located near diamond hill, it is a 10 minute walk from the MTR station uphill. This makes the center relatively inaccessible to those who are not living in the neighborhood. The facilities are relatively standard, squash courts, a gym room and a basketball court separated into badminton courts. Be warned however that the air con in the entire complex is pretty strong, after a long walk up from diamond hill station, it is most likely that you will be all sweaty. Do remember to dry yourself as soon as possible after going into the complex or you might risk catching a cold~

If you find the modes of commercial studio lack a comprehensive system to monitor you progress, I…read morewould very much recommend CCDC instead. CCDC is a renowned contemporary dance company in Hong Kong, which also is dedicated to promote dance to the public as well as nurturing new generations of dancers. Quite different from the more popular coupon approach used by most if not all commercial dance studios, CCDC takes a course approach; that is to say you have to first enroll to the course before attending the classes. By using this approach, the participants are more regular and the dance tutor could easier adjust the levels of each class and thus better monitor the progress as a class. Besides the more technical and academic genre such as ballet, Chinese and modern, CCDC has recently introduced styles like Jazz funk, Hip Hop and street jazz to cater to the different needs and preference of the students. Just like the common saying that theres a place for everyone; there is a studio for every dance lover. So if you want to learn dancing, what could be your reason not taking action?

So, this time I am going to introduce one of my favorite swimming pools in Hong Kong, Kowloon Park Swimming Pool. Honestly, I don't feel I am a very suitable person to write a review for pool because I prefer swimming in beach, but I know not everyone fancy in the salt, plus you may need the pool to practice if you are not a good swimmer, right? There are indoor, outdoor pools, training pool, diving pool and toddlers' pool, so give you various choices to choose. The main pool is of standard size which is good to practice and do exercise, while the leisure pool outdoor is huge so give you plenty space to relax and play. More than that, the swimming pool opens all year, so you can enjoy the water anytime. I did my scuba diving training in the diving pool before, and I have to say that is a really big and deep pool, it allows at least four teams of divers to practice same time and everyone still had a lot of rooms. The facilities are good as well, there are plenty shower and changing rooms, so you will never wait too long. The only thing I have to mention is, because of the good location, it is always packed on weekends and public holidays, try to avoid and get an easy day to enjoy.
