Never very many staff about but you don't really need them you can control everything from the computerised board at your station. Ideal for kids of all ages they have rails for the lane that you can choose to have up for younger bowlers and they have a ramp thing to help the really young send the ball down. Amazing how good getting a strike feels even if playing against 8 year olds (especially as they usually win) its hard not to have fun. They have a bar and food probably best avoided. Clean and tidy it all works rather well. Always offers on so check their website. You will often find us here on teacher training days when the place is empty.

Number 10 is located in the Romford Brewery which makes it really convenient for parking, eating,…read moredrinking & laughing at the age old pastime of bowling. Is anyone really very skilled at bowling? In some sports, the older you get = the better and more skilled you get... in the case of bowling, the older you get = the more you goof off and drink up which is actually perfectly convenient here because of the large, fully stocked bar area. Bowling at Number 10 is a multifaceted event applicable to family fun, a great kids party, a preteen flirt fest or an adult's drinking game so Number 10 can be filled with a variety of different people on different agendas which I think adds to the charm. They have bowling specials like "buy 2 games get one free", the ever popular Blacklight Bowling and there are special discounts during certain hours on odd days. My best advice would be to check the website before you go~ there might be a coupon! All the screens are bright & modern and there are lane bumpers and ball slides available for those novice bowlers not confident in their follow through. Also, if you decide to forgo the challenge altogether, there are many arcade games to enjoy, no dance floor but a good mix of music playing and always some sort of sport viewable on the TVs in the bar area. One of the best features I find is the security at the door. The guard does not allow great big groups of youngins to come and loiter around without adult supervision. I know that makes me sound like a mean old lady but that's a risk I'm willing to take because I loath anarchy and they are usually the culprits. Definitely a great way to fill a few hours with friends, family or for a fun birthday idea!

The place caters to both kids and adults alike, giving the option to have the barriers up or down, and has a nice aesthetic to it, that being a classic Hollywood pink neon look. I cannot tell you much about the professional potential of the place as I do not bowl often and am not good so it is safe to say I would not be a good judge of it, but to me it seemed to be of quality. I do, however, retain 3 complaints: the amount of uncontrolled children there is terrifying but I suppose that cannot be pinned on the place itself, but the small children whom I assume provide its greatest demographic and their ignorant parents. A second compliant is the choice of music and it not fitting the theme the place tried to accomplish, once again falling to the crappy R and B so many people seem to be into. My third and final complaint is the lack of medium bowling balls. This did not affect me at all, but could've easily put a paying customer off his or her game. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone looking to go bowling in the area. I would rate it 3.5 if I could but no such option exists.

There is an arcade, cafe and bar inside too, so you've really got everything you need. There is also music, shoe hire, and some kitsch touches that really add to the almost-tacky-yet-charming ambiance. Book in advance for groups, and let them know if you have any particular needs. Also bare in mind - it gets busy, and it is often tough to park close by.

The staff are all quite helpful and friendly for the rare times that the bowling ball gets stuck in the end bit with the pins, they will get it out and you are back to bowling within 5 minutes. You may even get a free game. As for prices, it is very very cheap. You can book a whole party for a teenager for just 10 pounds, it used to be so much more expensive! Bowlplex does offer much more than bowling with live music on the odd occasion, an arcade and a pool pit. It is a day out that doesn't cost too much and can give you some classic moments that you remember forever. It is affordable and something which makes a pleasant change from going to the pub or clubbing. Prices are affordable and deals are available at certain points of the week. The best deal by far though is the all day play special which means you get to keep a lane all day for a fixed price so long as you don't leave the premises. They don't advertise it these days and availability has been slashed but if you ask behind the counter, they will do it for you. Bowling is not the only activity on offer here. There is an arcade and you can regress to a child like state racing cars or shooting monsters. If that doesn't tickle your fancy then there is a bar in which you can chill out and watch sports or play pool. You can always grab a bite to eat too meaning that you can make a complete evening of your visit. The food is quite basic, burgers, chips and hot dogs but it suits the surroundings. Staff are always helpful and are quick to come to the rescue whenever the lanes start playing up. Parking is available on site but it is council run and charges all night long. Wardens regularly patrol the car park as they know they can score a few easy tickets so be careful when parking here.
