So far so good. Our kinder experience at Basis Tucson Primary has been a lot better than our prek…read moreexperience at Leman Academy. The school strongly emphasizes academics and kids are given letter/percentage grades like high schools do. Yes there's pressure but nothing we can't handle so far. My complaints: 1. De-prioritization of physical activity. You have to put your child in an after school club (more money) for dance, bowling, and other movement-based activities. I had the opportunity to volunteer to help with hot lunch once. I learned a lot. Like just how short lunch is; it explained why my daughter was hungry but had uneaten food in her lunch last semester. Volunteering has opened my eyes and I started packing her lunches a little differently 2. It's a charter school so they have to raise money. However, the fundraiser updates in the app are ridiculous. Class vs class, grade vs grade. Everyone hurry and donate before the deadline...use the AZ tax credit...oh the deadline has been extended so you can donate more (no surprise) None of the issues I mentioned are major to me. Why? Because my kindergartener is reading, can read digital and analog clocks, she can add double-digit numbers, etc but her friends who are in 1st and 2nd grade in TUSD schools aren't there yet. The academic advantage Basis provides is unparalleled without attending an expensive private school But there are pros and cons to each school and I've included a couple for potential parents considering the school

Now this sounds a lot like bullying to me from the teachers to student. If a student concerns, uncomfortable, and would like to leave the room they should, am I wrong? Now this has been going on all year and I've been quiet about it. I'm not pleased with the staff nor the faculty on how they pursue my daughter into wanting her to change instead of developing her strengths the way that needs to be done and I feel really awful and shameful for bringing her to the school. I will never recommend Basis. I hope you guys change the way that you view your students they are not robots. They are human beings and if they feel uneasy about a situation, they have the right to speak up.

Can you select no stars? Both the Prince and Lerdo Rd…read more Locations are abysmal environments for both students and teachers. As a substitute teacher, I was continually ill, sickened by a variety of viruses the students (most of them likely unvaccinated in this title 1 district) spread. No nurse on the Prince campus, and the Lerdo Rd. location actually prohibits kids from being sent home unless they have a fever. Too bad if you have pink eye, just pass it around. Admin at both schools is haughty and aloof. No support for teachers dealing with kids' bad behavior. Blame the teacher for "poor classroom management," admin's favorite go-to phrase whenever there's an issue. Many kids have serious social and mental dysfunction, yet incidents of self- or peer-to-peer harm are swept under the rug. These schools are scammers, collecting federal grant monies to stuff classrooms with low-income students whose parents are too busy putting food on the table (or whacked out on crack) to pay attention to the fact that their kids aren't learning anything and have to endure a regimented 7:30-4 (sometimes longer) rotation of classrooms in which pandemonium reigns and learning falls through the cracks.

Mrs. Elliot, words cannot fully express my gratitude for the support and dedication you showed to my daughter throughout 5th grade. You consistently went above and beyond to ensure her success, and your passion for teaching has made a lasting impact. Casas Christian School is incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated teacher on its staff. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everything you did for Sophia this year. I was a student here for 10 or 9 years and never in my life have i ever wanted to leave this school…read moreso much. The teachers are rude, give out too much homework and whine and cry for no reason about how bad we are. Not just that, the students at ADS are RUTHLESS. Theyre all rude, disrespectful and disgusting. it makes me wonder who their parents are. The worst part about all of this is that the principle does absolutely NOTHING about the drama that goes down in elementary OR MIDDLE SCHOOL!!! If you're thinking of sending your kid here to learn or to be disciplined, pick a another school because academy del sol has only made me dumber if anything. The tests are too hard no matter how hard i study and like i said before, too much homework. Everyone and everything here is disappointing and nasty so take my advice; DO NOT GO TO EITHER ACADEMY DEL SOL'S ROGER OR STAR VALLEY!!! and bella r, shut up. we all know what kind of nasty gossip girl YOU are...

When a teacher says that your child got a D on the exam and this was one of the highest grades then something is wrong! I am involved in my son's school and went and spoke with each teacher and there was a consensus is that all the students are failing- how can the school continue to allow their students to FAIL! I am an extremely concerned parent that feels that this school is allowing our children to fail and this could drastically effect their future! The school grounds are nice and the uniform is extremely formal with blazer and tie. However again the fall at organizing the physical education class around this. In the summer months when it was 100°+ outside they had pants and a long sleeve collar shirt they participated in. Then there was an incident that occurred at the school that involved the sheriff's presence that parents we're given very little information about. And the most recent situation that occurred was a fire /gas scent incident that forced an evacuation of the school. Which I'm glad they did and they informed the parents via email. What they failed to mention is that this evacuation occurred and our children were outside in the rain! They failed to let us know that our children were soak and wet in December on one of the coldest days! The only way parents knew was if the child chose to call to get clothes brought to them. The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because I love the teachers! But they need to get organized and quick or we will be looking for another school.
