So one day I needed a larger sum of cash more than what I could get without a fee while making a purchase on groceries. All I needed to do is give my member number and license. Voila! I was able to make withdrawals from my accounts. This has been great as I truly don't want to change banks and we get direct deposits into them currently. Also a long history with the bank. The tellers here are so efficient as well as friendly. There had been zero wait time the two times I have been to this branch and that was on a Saturday the last time.

Now with the money gone, not received by the intended recipient, they refuse to take responsibility for their incompetence. Instead, they chose to blame me, and just walk away, "Too bad". When an organization advertises providing a service, you expect them to be able to do that. I had a history of banking with them for over 20 years, and they would rather lose my business than to cover the loss due to their incompetency. Needless to say, I have moved all my banking services. During this debacle, they would not return my phone calls, and when I would visit the bank, I would be given different stories as to why my money was lost, with assurances they would find it and get it back to me. Did not happen. Poor training, poor service, poor customer relations. Poor Bank. Use a different bank.

I've been with this bank for years and had been mostly pleased until my interaction with the employees of the Wilmington Island branch today. Normally everyone is very polite and helpful, but from the moment I walked through the door, there was the distinct impression that my business was not wanted. I was not greeted and the teller had a very sour attitude. Then, the woman that was supposed to help me notarize something was incredibly abrasive and rude. I understand if the bank cannot notarize something if the signature is not that of the person who holds the account with the bank, but there was no reason for me to be spoken to and treated the way that I was today. These are all older women, and I am a young woman and got the impression that they were judging me. I will never return to this branch again except to use the ATM. The service has gone incredibly downhill over the years.

The tellers are wonderful and even take time to recognize you, acknowledge you and even get to know your kids' and pets' names (there's only been one who isn't my favorite, but the rest are amazing). I rarely have a huge balance in my account but they never make me feel like my money doesn't matter. Keep doing what you're doing at that branch! (sadly, I have had a few horrible experiences at the Hodgson Memorial branch, but I've also had some great experiences at the downtown branch, so, I guess we can call it balance. I'll just go out of my way to go to the downtown branch if I'm in that neck of the woods and need to do some banking).
