Chang Karate School

Do you believe in miracles? I don't believe it because I know that miracles really exist,…read moreespecially if the miracle happened in your own life, with your child, so it is thanks to Chang karate school in Warminster. Grandmaster Chang and his educational system miraculously transformed and improved the abilities and inner space of my daughter's personality. When my daughter was five years old, preschool teachers told me that my daughter had learning issues, behavioral stuff, a short attention span, and all of it. Information that my daughter had a massive problem with focus shocked me. So I had only one way to change the situation, so I began looking for a school of Martial Art to improve her focus. I read a lot of beautiful advertisements about different karate classes around my neighborhood but I tried to check them by visiting there. So most of them looked like clubs of karate lovers, but not as a severe sport of martial Art. I checked almost all courses of martial Art offered around, and I almost gave up on finding any way for my daughter to improve her focus. I was disappointed because the classes I mainly saw were cheat-chatting, no judo, no kata, and no solid physical activity, but only birthday parties and awards. I already despaired of finding something honorable for my daughter but once I accidentally chanced upon the sign on York Road in Warminster - "Chang Karate School." So with suspicion, I tried to look at Chang Karate School. Wow! What I saw when I arrived at that school, blew my mind, so that was the school that I was looking for, so there was real karate art! In class, among students with white, yellow, green, and red belts there were several training boys and girls of 13-18 with black belts on their kimonos; and their bodies were dangerous weapons. All of them were focused and disciplined, their bodies were flexible and robust. Their kicks, movements, and state of mind were pretty impressive. Grandmaster Chang invited my daughter to attend a free trial class. Grandmaster Chang is a teacher from God because he absolutely knew how to fix a problem with my daughter, so he developed a unique right curriculum for her. In the past, Grandmaster Chang was a professional fighter and an army trainer in Korea. He's the bearer of Tan So Do knowledge (Tan So Do - the name of the Art), Eastern wisdom, and profound ethical principles. My daughter enrolled to begin school without hesitation, and I was not mistaken about the choice. My daughter got progress and success, so as a result, she improved her focus! So now in elementary school, my daughter is in regular classes with regular children and no longer needs special courses. Teachers asked me what we were doing to improve her focus, and strongly recommend to continue to do that activity. But the tangible result is her math improvement; her school testing rate jumped from absolute zero (it wasn't even F because before, she could not begin her tests) to A! Her problem with a focus completely disappeared. It's a miracle. She is singing, playing guitar, reading thick chapter books by herself, doing a nice drawing, and even beginning to play chess (this game needs increased attention). It's a miracle. But the way to success is not easy, so we spent four long years getting the first result. I sincerely appreciate Grandmaster Chang for my daughter for his hard work to change her and my life. P.S. I monitored my daughter's progress for six months and was impressed by her development, so after that, I enrolled by myself. But it's my personal transformation and it's a different story. Vitaly K.

I have been training with Grandmaster Chang since 1989. There is a huge difference between a…read moretraditional karate school and one of the franchise ("McDojo") schools. The discipline in our school is what sets us apart from all of the other schools. I had looked at other schools before coming to Chang Karate School, but knew that this was the right school as soon as I met Grandmaster Chang. He knows exactly how to draw-out the best from each student based on their individual physical and emotional abilities. He is wonderful with the children. Additionally, we learn skills that carry over into day-to-day life. All 3- of my kids and 1- of my granddaughters have trained at the school. I highly recommend Chang Karate School. Mark

I found this place when searching for kickboxing studios in the area and I am so thankful I did. The facility is one big room with 9 different "stations" that you rotate through every 3 minutes (hence the name 9round) for a total 30-minute, full body workout. Although there are no locker rooms, they do provide cubbies at the entrance where you can place your belongings throughout the duration of your workout. They also have a personal sized, one-room bathroom if you need to change into your gym clothes before you begin your workout. Don't have gloves or wraps? Not to worry! 9round provides a variety of glove and wrap colors customers can choose from and purchase at the gym. They also provide you with a 9round drawstring bag to carry all your equipment in. Unlike many fitness classes, 9round does not have set class times. A new session starts every three minutes during operating hours so there is no excuse to not work out! They have trendy music blasting the entire time, providing a fun atmosphere to workout in. Each workout is challenging and new every time you go in. The workout is always full body, offering a mixture of strength and cardio throughout. Depending on how hard you work, you can expect to burn anywhere between 300-500 calories in just 30 minutes. However, what makes 9round the best place to workout are trainers. The trainers are dedicated to making you feel comfortable yet challenged throughout your workout. They take the time to walk you through each station so there is no need to worry about whether you know what you are doing. Throughout your workout, they provide words of encouragement which helps motivate you to finish out each round. They connect with each of their members on a personal level by remembering your name immediately after your first visit. If you're looking for a quick yet challenging workout with amazing trainers to help guide you through, then stop in for a workout at 9round! I promise you won't regret it! Plus... your first workout is free!

It's less of a convention "gym" and more like a small community of people who actually care about health and fitness. You won't see the all-so-annoying gym members that LA has... no roided-up men grunting at the weight racks... no women just barely covering up their va-jay-jays to get attention. It's about real people here. This gym has all the equipment that a conventional gym has, (treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, machines, etc.) but they have so much more,... The Jacob's Ladder (a never-ending ladder-- great cardio!), TRX bands from the ceiling, climbing ropes, suspended pull-up bar, vertical max boards, sliding boards, etc. There's even a Tough Mudder training obstacle course outside! The trainers really know what they're talking about, too. They go above and beyond to access your fitness needs, and they create a custom program designed for you to reach your fitness goals. I honestly can not go back to a regular gym after being at Fitlife. It's actually fun to workout, and less of a chore. They recently incorporated the MyZone Program into the gym. MyZone is a heart-rate monitor system.. when you wear your belt, your heart rate appears on the big TVs at the gym. Depending on the intensity of your workout, you accumulate "MEPs" which help you gauge how well of a workout you're getting. The system REALLY helps. It makes you compete with yourself (For me, I'm always trying to stay in the high yellow to red level) as well as others. FitLife makes MyZone fun too... for the months of July 2013 and August 2013, they have a contest-- get to 5,000 MEPs and be entered into a grand prize.. every 500 MEPs over that gets you another entry. I recommend this gym to anyone who wants to better their health, no matter how small or large the goal.

I love ALL of it. The classes are fun and keep you moving for a solid hour on all kinds of strength, cardio, and functional exercises. And the class size is perfect. Not too big, not too small. The obstacle course in the back is great for practice for any mud run. The facility itself is awesome with just about anything you can think of inside on the turf area, including a place to practice rope climbing! The personal trainers are the best thing about this place. Mike is my trainer and he is ridiculously fit and training for ANW himself. He is very knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition and extremely patient when teaching me about both! Personal training is not inexpensive, but I really feel like he is taking the time to put together customized training that is completely specific to helping me achieve my goals and address my weaknesses. I'm excited to come in. I am exhausted when I leave, but also really pumped up by the workout and looking forward to more. He's a kick-ass trainer. Another trainer there, Brian, has also been extremely supportive and I can't believe he taught me how to climb a rope in one session. He's so upbeat. And all of the other trainers have been really welcoming and generous with high-five throwing as well. It is a great place to train. I have a Spartan annual pass this year and these guys are definitely helping me get Beast-ready!
