I have had an exceptional customer service experience with the Londonderry customer team of Amerigas. When my payment was incorrectly posted at corporate. This group spend hours trying to find were my payment was posted and acted on my behalf in clearing up the issue. Having said that I give a 0 grade to corporate A/R that posted my payment incorrectly and to the collection group that has no interest in resolution and just pay the bill again or it goes on your credit report, disgraceful read more

I was charged a mandatory $140 leak inspection fee when ordering propane. The technician arrived, spent approximately five minutes on-site, connected the hose, and left. When I contacted customer service to understand what the fee covered, I was told the "inspection" consists solely of a visual check - if no obvious leak is detected, no further action is taken. There is no way to opt out of this fee. I believe a $140 charge for what amounts to a brief visual glance is unreasonable, especially given the lack of transparency about what the inspection actually entails before the service is performed. read more

I've been with AmeriGas 2 years most of the time when the man delivers propane he says oh I don't most of the time he doesn't give you a receipt I got some help I'm old disabled woman in my sixties I called Catholic charities and they said they would help me and the woman that AmeriGas said I get 75 gallons of propane for $276 maybe 8 or 10 days ago and now they got the money from Catholic charities and the woman on the phones tell me I'm only going to get 53 gallons I asked her why and she said because it changes every 7 days but doesn't make sense the woman from Catholic charities Central to check two days after they talked and agreed on the price it isn't like what they're doing I think they should have gave me the whole 75 gallons I'm not saying they're crooks but they're not very nice I'm an elderly woman my name is Cindy Houston I live in Manchester and I have propane and AmeriGas is my propane company when I call to complain all they did was passed me to someone else nobody wanted to understand they screwed me out of almost 25 gallons of propane that Catholic charities are charity organizations that gives these places money to help poor people get fuel I don't know how they live with themselves my name is Cindy Houston I live in Manchester New Hampshire I am a customer of AmeriGas don't trust them and I'm a veteran don't trust them how can the price change that much when two days they sent the check to them the 276 to a bunch of crooks last year I got help from Catholic charities and the amount of gave last year to help me they gave the amount that they told us on the phone now this time they're telling us 75 gallons and they're only going to give us 53 after agreeing to that price and agree into that much propane you're not nice I hope someone reads this think about it before you get them guys read more

Do not use Amerigas if you live in the Upper Valley in Vt/NH. Find a local company who will be there for you in an emergency even if they are a little more expensive. When we lost heat in the house in the middle of January our plumber was away on vacation. It was a weekend so we called the "emergency number" for Amerigas. That number connected us to someone in India with whom it was impossible to have an exchange of ideas because she would not deviate from some script Amerigas apparently insisted she stick to--a script that must not have contained any reference to "emergency" or "frozen pipes." After a frustrating twenty minutes or so she said she would call an Amerigas technician in our area. When the Amerigas technician finally made contact with us, it was to tell us he couldn't come to the house because it was snowing--and in truth there may have been some flakes in the air but everybody else, including our eight year old granddaughter's hockey team--had no problem at all getting where they needed to go. Not a responsible company. read more

I wish I could give negative star. the worst customer service I have ever dealt with, we were on auto delivery, the levels started getting quite low, so I made a delivery request before an upcoming ice storm, the reps told me they guarantee it would be delivered in the timeframe. the day before the deliver window closed they cancelled my delivery saying it was delayed. called multiple time, chatted online a NO ONE FROM THIS COMPANY CARES. two kids at home, with probably power outages- they DID NOT CARE, whatsoever. now they want me to pay an emergency fee to have it delivered. BULLSHIT COMPANY, don't ever, EVER chose them. read more

We are out of gas and they will not deliver till tomorrow or the next day. Instead of calling your local office and talking to a live person who can simply call the truck driver, you are routed to a foreign answering service. Terrible customer service!!!! read more

Zero stars if that was an option. Every time I call, I spend at LEAST 1 HOUR on hold before you may get the chance to speak to a person. Terrible customer service, left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, ridiculous 'emergency fills', ran out of gas waiting for a fill in Alaska. I would not suggest doing any business with this company unless you like to spend hours on the phone trying to sort things out. The absolute worst service company I have ever dealt with. read more

This company is a total scam. We ran out of propane and needed an emergency order. We paid $300 for us to be put in a system that can take up to three days after you paid the fee to even receive the propane. We had no heat and hot water in the brutal cold of New England winter with a newborn after calling customer service multiple times to speak to another person who gives you completely inaccurate information the first person we spoke to guaranteed 24 hours the second said they will try to escalate it after being completely ignored. We still have not gotten it on the third day. Everyone tells you different information. They also have a bunch of hidden fees. I couldn't believe that we don't get some type of emergency order based on that information as well as being a premier member. Also, the delivery for the propane is a policy that I've never heard of in my entire life. The driver does not call you or give you a timeframe of when they're going to be there... For the whole three days so if you have to work and can't have someone go to your house for you because there needs to be an adult that's 18 to receive the delivery you have to look at your camera or wait for your door to knock and take work off for three days until you receive your delivery. Even when you buy a couch they give you a delivery date and a four hour timeframe window for someone to be there. Their drivers do not even call to tell you when they're going to be there if you need to leave work or make reservations for someone to be at your house I've never heard of this anywhere else. There is absolutely no timeframe or window and all of those three days, yet we already paid the emergency fee. Apparently this is not an emergency to them, and this is how their poor business model works. They want people to miss their delivery so they can re-charge them the $300. Do not use them! read more

I have been with Amerigas for close to 30 years. Have two accounts with them. I'm getting ready to close my accounts with them and higher a different gas company. They were good when they were in Ft. They are a horrible company to deal with period. You can only talk to advisors, that are not located in the US.They can only forward you to a manager to sit on hold for an hour. Both times I sat on hold I was disconnected to take a review and then heard a dial tone. I was scheduled for gas a week ago but they are behind and yesterday I ran out of gas. It is 13 degrees outside, I have no fire place, not furnace and no way to cook. My account says someone is coming and nobody shows. They suck and have no customer service. Call a local company for sure not these losers! read more

After 4 plus Years of Complaining off gas smell when the weather got hot. I went and check the 325 gallon tank on a 90 degree plus day. I finally found a leak at the end of tank in the weld. I called the fire department instead of the AmeriGas. 5 trucks showed up. dispatch called the company. 5 hours later a truck show showed up. then a technician came. the tank was pumped out. I canceled my account. been trying to call. you get a Call Center in Africa. Empty Tank been in Driveway for 4 weeks now which I had to move with my Tractor because the Technician said he couldn't get the truck up on lawn to lift it. The absolute worst company to deal with. On hold for hours when you try to reach them. No one ever, ever calls back. Service reps just pass the buck from one person to the next and no one can solve a problem (of getting a tank monitor installed). It's been 8 months and literally no one can tell us what company they use to install the monitor because they don't do it themselves. Use anyone else for you gas or propane. No amount of savings is worth it. read more

BEWARE AMERIGAS DISCONNECT FEES. Before receiving my final closing bill, my balance was paid in full. After notifying them I wanted to discontinue service, I received an invoice for $274.99. I called AmeriGas and was told that their terms & conditions had changed recently and that customers are now charged a $75 Service Dispatch Fee and a $199.99 Pick-up Charge - thus a total of $274.99 to disconnect and pick up my tank !!! Additionally, it took 2 months for AmeriGas to pick up the tank (which my new provider was forced to disconnect so as to set up my new service). To add to my aggravation, it was after the 2 months that I was forced to call them to request they remove their tank. I would suggest Rymes Propane if you live in the southwestern area of NH. read more

if I could leave negative stats I would. wish I would've seen these reviews before ordering. i am getting a full refund as a new customer. 2.5 week wait, which is no big deal. sat on the phone on hold for more than 1.5 hours in 3 calls, so then I get a jack whipe of a rep and says sorry you don't wanna wait for the lead time. what a pos. After they scheduled me to install over a week and a half ago. then today I canceled because I still don't have services and already paid over 1500 in advanced and then they call me today saying I owe another 400$ because it's not a standard install. mind you my house is on flat ground. Nothing special, not any different from any other installs. recommend not having propane than going with this circus company. read more

Do yourself a favor, go with anyone else. They have no US based customer service, and the ones they have do little to help and they change their stories. Made an appointment for a day. No one showed up. I had to drive to a dispatch location and corner someone to get any movement. Then they send you a bill with a Dispatch fee of $99. Seriously, why are you still considering Amerigas, you will regret it. read more

TRASH COMPANY ALERT!!! IF YOU'RE READING THIS CONSIDERING SIGNING UP WITH AMERIGAS, DONTTTT DOOOO ITTTTT. You will not get your propane. Every delivery will be canceled/late. Automatic delivery? That's a joke. I should get paid for the amount of hours I spend trying to get Amerigas to actually make a delivery. I think the call center employees are trained to not say "sorry" to customers because they definitely don't appear to give a shit that peoples' homes are without heat, pipes are freezing, etc. This company deserves negative stars. Would give no stars. Called on the 5th of March and then recalled now that we are about to run out on the 12th of March. And they're saying the delivery won't be from the 17th -24th. So for the second time in as many years, I was just charged for 200 gallons of propane for a 100 gallon delivery. Done with these crooks. If you happen to make the mistake of ordering propane from them, take a photo of your gauge with a date stamp. I just ordered 200 gallons with my gauge at 500 gallons. 3 days later the delivery came while I was not at home. My gauge is now at 600 gallons but they sure charged me for 200. Buyer beware. Update: Apparently these scumbags own my tank so I'm stuck with them. If you're in a similar situation, I encourage you to be make sure you're there for the delivery to read your gauge before hand and verify they in fact delivered the amount they are charging you for. I've been screwed twice now by these thieves and will do whatever necessary to transfer my service to somebody else that I can trust won't steal from me. read more

I recently bought a new home and decided to use the old homeowner's propane company AmeriGas. Like other viewers said the worst company I have ever experienced with. I went online to open an account with them and scheduled tank swap service first. Guess what? No show on April 26th tank swap. Its system keeps charging me monthly fee $137 but until today the old gas tank is still locked and no gas for my new home. I called customer service at least 7 times and until today no gas... its customer service line offshore does nothing for you. This company is operating like a mafia coz playing monopoly game, cut corners, keep taking your money without providing its service, like gas or customer service. AmeriGas make PG&E looks like a top gun company, no kidding... I live in Woodside California. Does anyone know other company provide propane service? read more

I just found out that they have been charging me $1.50 more per gallon than their competitors. And, I thought it was great that they were topping off the tank every two weeks until I discovered they have a $25 charge per delivery. If I could give them zero stars I would. They have charge my account without permission. Beware, you won't get any customer service other than robotic like individuals from somewhere outside the country. They are completely unhelpful and read from a script. I started service with Amerigas bc they portrayed to me that they were cheaper than the current company I had. They took TWO tanks out of my yard and installed three. They told me to call and lock my rate on May 1. When I called I was told that I'd be paying $2.34 a gallon or 2.85 if I didn't use as much propane as they want you to. I then told the gentleman on the phone that I knew why it was those two prices and I was hung up on. When I called back I obviously got a.different call representative who then proceeded to tell me that I NOW couldn't lock my rate until June 1 and to call back then. THEY LIE AND HAVE TH WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE PLANET!! UPDATE June 17- So when I called on May 1 to lock my rate as I was instructed to the end result was being told I now couldn't lock it until June 1. I did call back on June 1 and was then told I could not lock my rate until August 1. Amerigas is one of the worst companies ever but I do want to add that their drivers are top notch. I have only had good experiences with their drivers. Those are the men that do all the work to keep the company afloat. I bet they're highly underpaid. Then again probably so is everyone else in the company besides the CEO and CFO who thought they could outsmart me. Not gonna happen! read more

Worse company ever! Avoid them like the plague. They promised a 10 calendar day window for delivery of gas. We were in an out-of-gas situation so they required us to be at home. We were told four days in a row that they were coming to deliver gas. They missed all four days. On the 10th day they could not tell us when they would deliver gas and that we were not scheduled on a route. In addition, they charge a yearly fee for the tank when there competitors do not. They also charge $1.20 more than there competitors. Osterman is charging me $3.299 for gas while AmeriGas is charging $4.50. Osterman is also giving me a free tank. I was told by multiple supervisors at AmeriGas that they would honor the $3.299 fee especially since they had missed delivery four days in a row. They came back telling me that they would no longer honor the $3.299 fee and that they would schedule a pickup of their tank. read more

we are very frustrating with Amerigas service and have now taken the steps to cancel. After many phone calls trying to get service to move a tank, we finally gave up and cancelled our account. Now we have to fight to get credit for unused propane and rental fees.
