They polished the wood while they had it. Two to three weeks, reasonable price, no drama. David runs the operation and was easy to talk to from the first conversation. Knowledgeable, straightforward, no overselling. It's a family business -- his father is the upholsterer -- and it shows in how they treat what you bring them. I didn't fully understand how damaged it was until I got it back. Now it feels the way it was supposed to feel. Solid. Sturdy. You can sit in it comfortably without holding your breath. Our sofa had a classic frame with oversized seat cushions and feathered back cushions approximately 20 years old, and the fabric was showing signs of wear and tears in two distinct areas along with the frames fabric. Ed suggested semi-firm foam replacements which was perfect,and thought that the fabric would be fine for now, but consider a fabric change next time I decide needed new foam cushions. So 5 years later I decided this October to replace them again, Ed suggested that future cushion replacement may not be feasible due to the fabrics extensive wear. He suggested that I consider reupholstering as we were unable to find a suitable replacement in the market. Our needs required a comfortable couch that could accommodate two dogs and two humans. The market was lacking style and craftsmanship. So I made an appointment with his lovely wife Lily, who manages the showroom. Lily suggested we browse through the MULTIPLE design books, guiding this upholstery fabric novice on what would and would not be great for a sofa especially if we catered to spoiling our 4 legged friends. We spent several hours carefully deciding on a texture and a color until we found the perfect one. To ensure that the project was completed before the holidays, Ed's plan was to do this project in 2 phases so we'd have something to sit on while the reupholstering of the sections was happening. The process was seamless, Ed and his team made sure that each sections transport was properly packed and protected since of course it was time for the rainy season to begin. The final result is a beautiful couch with fabric that will last for years. They went above and beyond to make this project a success even as the holidays approached they were confident that I'd have a new couch Christmas and they delivered! I saved the information, and so glad I did! We have a 14 yr old leather Lazyboy sofa and loveseat that was quite the "investment piece", however, the love seat portion has been showing some noticeable wear, and some stitching had come loose, of which I never trimmed those loose threads for fear it would unravel even more! Arsen came to my home so very quickly after my call for help. I did not have wait weeks for the repair service once I called--which was wonderful as well. He was prompt, he even kicked off his shoes at the door without even so much as a request! He assessed the loveseat, compared it to the "like new" sofa that we rarely use, then went to work after we reviewed the work requested. Prior to his visit, we had sent pictures of the wear and tear via email with he and his wife, and i was given an estimated quote. Arsen worked diligently for 5 hours! He is definitely a craftsman- he had all the tools he needed; he even actually used the loose heavy thread that had unraveled to restitch that area! the loveseat needed replacement foam in the leg area of the recliner, as well as the seat and lower back area. I have to say, this loveseat now looks new!! He left no trace of a mess afterwards, and he matched my leather color when he touched up the scuffing/scratch wear from my dogs (who come on our laps onTV/Movie nights.) He was a pleasure to work with, very up front and professional. He told me what the moving company would more than likely be okay repairing and what they would not, but the items he felt that they would not approve, he could do in five minutes no biggie. Unfortunately, the other man from a different company who came out with him has made everything a nightmare. But Mr. Clyde persisted and was able to come out and do all the repairs in an afternoon. My nieces baked him and his assistant a cake to have after lunch. :) The pieces he repaired you can't even tell they were damaged. He even did a better job on a hand made (not the best quality) cedar chest that was scratched up. He forewarned me that he didn't know how well he could repair it since he used higher end varnishes, etc. He indicated that to do it correctly would be to actually do it over. We didn't want to have that done. So, he did a great job. The first run wasn't that great and even though I was okay with it - he couldn't stand it - and gave it a second try - and it turned out even better. In fact, you can't really tell there were scratches and gouges unless you look at a certain angle with the light just right. LOL Thoroughly impressed with the quality of work this man and his company does. I would thoroughly recommend Mr. Clyde and his company. I appreciated his total honesty and openness throughout the process. Even under such circumstances and under the watchful eye of "naziism" (LOL) he remained professional with a high level of integrity. You couldn't ask for anything more. The quality of his work speaks for itself. In fact, everything he has repaired has been awesome, yet the items his counterpart (from another company) has repaired has either been wrong, broke within hours, or doesn't work.
