My friend is a regular at America's Thrift, finding $100 items for just $3-4, tags on and all. I haven't yet had the clothes shopping experience, but I have both donated and purchased other items here. First, the donation process is easy - they have two large bins by their door. I'm not sure how often they empty them out, but they certainly don't close them off at night because when I arrived, someone had done a little thrift shopping overnight and left the place a mess. Sadly, it was raining, and some of those items were going to have to be destroyed. I really wish they had an indoor option so you knew the items would not get stolen or messed up in the rain. I went inside to the kids toys section. I was purchasing stuffed animals to throw for a local parade. I filled a huge bag for less than $30 with really nice, fresh stuffed animals, including two really large ones. I love rehoming these beloved toys, hopefully bringing the kids smiles when they catch those. Everyone who worked there was really friendly as well. I waited in line for a while, as expected, but a third register opened and he waved me over there. He was super personable and also loved that the stuffed animals wee getting new life. He recommended anyone who needed any to go see him because he has so many to provide. The rest of the store looked really clean, considering the amount of items. ATS has quickly become my thrifty daughters' and my favorite thrift store! A friend told us about it, and we came and were first astounded by how huge the store is. Loaded with clothing and other items such as books and household decorations. I love their additional discount days and rewards' program through the website. Pretty nice that they offer store credit or exchanges for items with tags and the receipts within 30 days; some other thrift stores give you 7 days! Great prices here and great finds for sure...I snagged an Altar'd State jacket for $3 once! Go check it out for yourself! read more

We happened to see America's Thrift Store when we went to Lowe's off Airline. We decided to stop in, and are we glad we did! The store is clean and well organized. I'm a plus size woman, and I'm thrilled that their clothes are organized by size, not color. I can look for things that fit without having to dig through a bunch that don't! Best find of the day: two Nordic Ware Sizzler Servers. They were marked $5.99 each, but on sale for half price, so we got both for $6! Score! America's Thrift Store may be our new favorite thrift store adventure! read more

Clean. Uncluttered. Discounts upon discounts. Nice finds. Friendly staff. Ample parking. All sales ARE NOT final. Looking for, but not really, a red dress for the RED DRESS RUN (I actually had one but jussssssssssssst in case), but I digress. The store is huge & from the number of cars in the parking lot, in the middle of the day, very popular. And i see why. The clothes are arranged by section i.e. ladies, men, boys, girls etc. And then again by type i.e. tops, bottoms, dresses etc. in addition to clothing, there are also new household goods, cleaning supplies allllll for the low-low. There was bleach. Doggy items. Flash lights. This store was kinda like thrift store/goodwill meets the dollar store. HAPPY-HAPPY am I. Once at the register, which accepts CREDIT & DEBIT CARDS, there is FURNITURE off to the right (lounge chairs, new mattress sets etc) & other little knick-knacks at/around the register. I liked this thrift store. It's got a huge selection of clothing that's ordered by size. This is extremely helpful for me, since I wear XS/S and most clothing that goes to thrift stores is above that size. The prices were really, really good. For example, the shirts were mostly $0.99-4.99 and the jackets I got were... Under $10 each? And some of the clothing is really nice. In general, the items are in good to new condition. If you can't eyeball your size, you're out of luck. I don't think I saw any changing rooms. read more

I shop here often. I have dug through endless piles of unorganized clothing at other thrift stores but at America's Thrift Store by Cortana they keep the clothing organized and looking great. Yea, they need changing rooms but I still love the store. Employees are very helpful. By the way, yea the back of the store where household smalls are is pretty unorganized but it's better than my Neighborhood Walmart. Give em a break! read more

The only thrift store in the area open until 9pm on a weekday. Amazing! I needed semi formal clothes badly for my first couple days at work. America's thrift DELIVERED. moreso than Ross or TJ Maxx. I was able to find 7 blouses and 2 cardigans. Many of these items were considered very good brands; ie, Michael Kors, Ann Taylor, etc. My total came out to be $50. I've been shopping at the store since it opened. It has always been pleasant, clean and a great store to visit. Unfortunately, that has changed and some of the employees have become extremely rude and disrespectful. some of the pricing for items were a little high based off their condition but i bought three t shirts and a small purse for under $8 plus the cashier charlene was very sweet while checking out ^_^ everything was sort of unorganized and scattered throughout the store but if you really look around you can find something worth it. they had quite a few aisles filled with adorable knick knacks and books as well. another thing i noticed was they didnt have any dressing rooms to try on clothes :( definitely would come back but hope next time i go its a little bit more organized and they have a better selection of clothes and books. read more

This place is awful. There are no dressing rooms so if you buy something then don't expect to know if something fits other than shoes (which there are no mirrors around). Also if you do buy something and have to return it because it doesn't fit, you can't get your money back. You only get store credit which sucks. The employees are impossible to find since they don't have uniforms and when you do find them, they are dry and no help. Awful place and most likely won't come back unless Goodwill or Purple Cow is closed. read more

The clothing selection and prices are really amazing. The movies, music and books selection is also very nice. The toys, however, are another story. Nearly everything on the shelves is broken, have substantial pieces missing or are just not priced. This wouldn't normally be an issue for us but when you have a 4 year old that wants a toy, it's hard to explain why you're not spending money on an airplane with one wing or a puzzle with half the pieces missing. read more

Used to love it. Now the prices are getting ridiculous. I don't think I'll be shopping here nearly as often as I used to.

Not too impressed with this place. Came here while visiting some family and I was shocked at some of the prices. $30 for a leather purse? $35 for a leather jacket? Come on, you're a thrift store; why don't you act like one? Also, there are no fitting rooms or mirrors anywhere in the store, so I had to try on over my clothes and ask my aunt how it looked. I will say this though, they had some really cool authentic vintage dresses. Not the "vintage inspired" crap you'd find at the mall. Sadly none of them worked out, but I did manage to walk away with a cute pair of $55 Keds for only $7. read more

Probably the largest thrift in Baton Rouge. The prices are excellent - much better than Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul or Here Today Gone Tomorrow. The employees are friendly. The restrooms are clean. And this is the one thrift that TAKES RETURNS! read more

Oooooooh-oooooh that smell. Can't you smell that smell? No, it's not a Jack Daniels soaked airplane cushion being swept down a river from the plane crash. (too soon?) It's the smell of incredibly old merchandise...and moth balls. I only come to thrift stores when I know what I'm looking for. Costumes, cheap old electronics, other things I think should be cheap that I don't want to pay full price for (read: bed frames, picture frames, certain kitchen items, etc.). This store is impressive with its size, but they really didn't have much to look at. I didn't peruse clothing because I don't have a costume party to go to but I did look for second hand electronics and while they did have some items that would appeal to someone, nothing for me. I wouldn't tell anyone NOT to come here, nor would I say that it's the Mecca of Thrift. read more

Good prices. You have to be patient and dig but you can find good items from shirts to shoes; swimsuits to formal gowns. My only complaint is the employees are not friendly or helpful. Don't expect an answer to any question other than "I Don't Know" .... I still was able to get all new outfits for my 3 grandsons-really cute! And a few toys/games/frames/dishes. Awful I really give it negative five stars they make you pick a star just to give a review. They aren't a Christian organization like I thought just a store who figured out how to get people to donate, then rip the public off by selling you broken, or non fitting items to you then want give you your money back. Oh yea they give you a store credit but what good is it if you have to keep bringing what you exchanged back because it's worthless to. Plus how is this a discount place I've seen things in there I bought brand new at the dollar tree for a dollar and they wanted $2.00 - 5.00 for it. The worst rip off I saw was a painting they wanted $80.00 for, I saw the same picture at Big Lots brand new for $20.00. Will not shop at American Rip Off ever again and I have adviced my family and friends to avoid shopping there and my advice to all is the same. There are a lot better thrifts stores out there and our more reasonable then the American Thrift Store and more friendly and are not looking to rip you off! read more
