Went to get my child some clothes and yes I was walking in 7 minutes before closing but I was planning on looking in one area and walking out before they closed. I come to the door and a bigger black man says what do you need and I said yall still aren't closed and he said he closes the door and locks it when he wants too. But I can still come in. I really didn't even want to go in and look for my child clothes then. The customer service was absolutely terrible, he didn't have to be so rude and he could've let me looked for my baby boy some clothes because we're in need of cheap clothes for him in this economy and I work a lot of long hours. Needless to say. I had time to type this whole paragraph and it's still not closing time but he couldn't let me in for 5 minutes without being rude. read more

Went here for the first time the other day and was pretty surprised how large it was. They had a ton of clothes and then the normal household items, decor, purses, shoes. They feature a color (or 2) tag that has a discount. When we went, there was one colored tag that was 30% off and one that was 50% off. So it's nice to get some additional savings. As with most thrifts, you aren't going to agree with the pricing on every item. Sometimes it's higher than you expect and other times you are pleasantly surprised. I walked out with a couple of cute items and will be back to shop again. read more

The staff are rude and there's stuff ALL over the floor or stained or REALLY used priced at 4 or more dollars when it's not worth it. I bought a total of NINE pieces of clothing for my children and it costed $30. I could get more at goodwill an those folks can be some real crooks but America's thrift store has them beat for sure. Definitely won't be back or recommending this overpriced trashy thrift store to anyone. read more

love love love this store. fun to browse as i get to go down memory lane. i enjoy the yesteryear more than the today offerings of products. organization of the store and items makes shopping pleasant without a lot of digging through things. there are always two tag colors on sale. i find most prices decent for the items i like. sometimes the clothing is a bit more then i'd like. customer service for checkout is great. the only time i don't like shopping here is when items are being put out or removed from the shelf. i'm sensitive to the busy energy of someone going back and forth around me and one time someone was removing glass items and i was surprised nothing was breaking the way they were tossing them in the container as it was very noisy. i do get bagged toys and often am buying a bag for one item that i like so that can be unfortunate but i'll rethrift it and support the store as the price works out for me. read more

I visited the store while on vacation in June 2021. It was in Opelika Al. I had my 2 granddaughters with me. Angie went out of her way to listen to them for what they like. Help me find the sizes I need for them. The store was very clean. The store even smelled clean. (been in some you couldn't get passed the smell to shop). Everyone was helpful and friendly. Welllllllll. The good thing is that there is a lot of variety. You can look for hours at clothes, furniture, books, and houseware. Some is overpriced, so watch those brand names. The biggest problem is service. While I was checking out, two cashiers chatted the whole time -- about their boss. There were several people in line, but those two ladies left, and there were no cashiers. They were all standing in a group talking. I compliment the young men who loaded the furniture in my truck, though. They were friendly and eager to help. read more

Many items stained or damaged. Worst thing - no dressing room! I was told you can bring stuff back for 30 days, but I live an hour away!

It has a wide selection of items!! The workers are great and cool.

We love this place. It is similar to good will but it's much more organized by size and style. Prices are better than good will and a lot more selection. Hope you don't want to try on clothes! There is only one dressing room, which use to be an old bathroom. The toilet and sink is taped up. There was clothes everywhere and the door would not lock! read more

I love the store. I have only one thing to fault them on - customer service. I visited the local store over the last two days. I have been quite ill, and the air conditioning in this particular store is sub-par, it does not adequately cool the interior. Besides being on a lot of medications that make me dizzy and nauseated, the heat inside had me near fainting three or four times in one visit, and the first visit I could not even stay to check out about 5 items in my cart, so I went back early the next day to purchase the items I had left behind, but apparently they had gone to the back room to be repriced and I thought someone had found and bought my purse and pair of shoes that I looked high and low for in the store. I was able to find the hat and dress that I wanted and a lot of other cute outfits, but it was not until quite late in the day that the purse and shoes reappeared, and I was very happy, but feeling quite sick and needed to return home for a dose of my medicine (required every six hours around the clock), and asked the security guard to allow me to go home, and return within the hour, which I was able to do. I then shopped for several hours more, and about half an hour before closing time went to the register with two carts full of items to purchase. I had allowed myself just under $300 for my new wardrobe, and my selections went a bit over that amount, so we brought the total down by rejecting quite a lot of things I really wanted. Then I had a debit card for about $40 worth of items, and a new checking account just opened the previous day that has several thousand dollars deposited in savings with an associated checking account. Of course I do not have my checks yet, nor the debit card for those accounts, so I wrote out an initial blank counter check with all the information required (Name, address, two phone numbers, Driver License ID number and renewal date), the date, amount of the check, to whom it was written, and my signature as usual. The account number is on the check so that they could have run it for approval, BUT the manager would not approve it, nor would her supervisor, saying it is a company policy. They will only accept a check for under $199 to begin with, so we had again gone to the trouble to delete items from my order, to get to the amount of a check that could be written, but not accepting a check for a new account seems crazy to me when they would run it through the computer for approval by the account number, not the information written on the check itself to begin with... and my ID matched all the information I had written on the check, so I think this is a very POOR policy, when a customer has an order of several hundred dollars and was willing to come back with cash for the remainder of my order in the morning. At this point, I said, oh, well, I will just come in with cash when the bank opens if tomorrow or Monday, and pay for the rest of my items, but I was told, NO they could not hold my order in my shopping basket cart, they would have to send it to the back to be resorted and put back on the floor, so even if I feel up to it, I will have to go back and shop the entire store again to collect the items I wanted to buy and had ready to check out as soon as I have cash in my hand to do so. I think this is a real lack of customer courtesy, which could have been extended by leaving my cart near the last register where I was checking out until my bank opened this morning, so that I could get the cash for them. I am not certain my feet, legs and back can take my standing and walking through this huge store again to find those clothing items I was about to purchase, so they lost a large sale due to their lack of courtesy. After being one of the last customers in the store, trying to get them to leave my cart near the registers so that I could come back and purchase my items, which they claimed they could not do, and would have to send them to the back to be resorted and replaced on the floor. I was the third customer in the store on the 25th of August. I was able to find some purses that had been in one cart and a few hats, but I spent a LOT of time rewalking the huge store to find my items to purchase, but NONE OF THEM WERE ON THE FLOOR, NOR IN THE BACK ROOM. There was only one woman in the front of the store, and I could find NO ONE ANYWHERE to help me find them nor to tell me where they had been put if at all back in the store. The items were nowhere to be found, and the people who were working on Friday night were not working Saturday morning, leaving me to think that they had decided to purloin my items for their own use. No one in the store could find my outfits, the black shirt with a cleric's white collar band in front, the full skirts with the camisoles and blouses to match, the leggings with unusual patterns, the pajama pants, men's T-shirts for the Tigers, the Pirates, the digital print one with colors to match leggings, etc.I won't be back. read more

The check out clerk was so rude to me. She caused me to knock my bagged item off the bagging area and then a glass article I was planning to buy fell on the floor. The vase broke and then the clerk said, "You broke it! That means you gotta buy it!" Well, I told her that I shouldn't have to pay for it since it was an accident. I also told her that this item was obviously used and donated so why should I pay for something that the store got for free! Then this sour-faced, surly, angry little clerk called over her supervisor. The African American woman was really tall and big and she had the meanest expression on her face. She looked down her nose at me and said, "Well, like she said...YOU broke it...You gotta pay for it!!!" Well, I payed for my items and I don't plan on shopping there again! I learned from my friends that this is a FOR PROFIT thrift store. They give a tiny amount of money to charity after they line their own pockets first. The workers are all overworked and angry. The supervisors work those poor young women and young men to death. Everyone who works there looks exhausted and they seem to be so overwhelmed. There is no customer service on the floor. I was trying to find where they kept the sweaters and the clerk didn't know where they were. She said, "Ain't it too hot to be buying sweaters? Maybe we ain't got none???" I ended up finding the sweaters myself. They were crammed up in a crowded rack right by some moth-balled, musty smelling evening gowns. Someone got out their old 1990's prom dresses and donated them and there they were with high prices on that rack! The management of that place is terrible. I'm never going to shop there again.
