The job was still not done so he returned the next evening, after 5:00pm and stayed until midnight. He also used some of my tools and took them with him. They have not been returned. The job was still not done and he had tightened, loosened, pounded on,T and jerryrigged so many things (including the springs) that the manager and another man came the next day and stayed 2 hours to fix the problems made by the first man. After they left, the garage door and the track were popping and cracking every time I put it up or down. I lubricated them and it seemed to get somewhat better. Two months later the door is very loud again and they sent Quick Garage repair to fix the problem. They fixed the problem that I had with the garage door screen, that runs in the same track, but said that I NEED NEW SPRINGS. The Cowtown guys, that put in my new garage door opener, had adjusted my springs when they were working on my door. Now the Quick Garage Repair guys, that were sent to fix the continuing problems, said that I need new springs and, at my request, would only adjust the springs that are there for $175+. The springs were fine when I got the new opener but they would not take responsibility to tweak the setting because it was not on the invoice, so not under warranty for repair. I could explain in more detail but it might take 3 days to read. This is the first time that I have written a negative review so believe me when I say DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Though the representatives I spoke with on the phone (Astrid and Josh) were pleasant, the actual…read morecustomer service and follow-through were extremely disappointing. Over the course of 7 days, **#1 Garage Door cancelled or failed to show for TWO scheduled appointments**, both of which had been communicated and confirmed by text. Meanwhile, my garage door remained unusable due to a broken torsion spring. After the second missed appointment, I called for the **third time** expecting the situation to be escalated and corrected. Instead, I was told the soonest available appointment was **another 9 days away**. That would mean potentially going **18 days with a broken garage door** because of their scheduling failures. I specifically asked to speak with a manager or have the issue escalated. I was told that the additional 9-day wait was **the resolution management had approved** and that it was the best they could do. I then asked whether they could contact the local service company directly and expedite the appointment given the two previous missed appointments. I was informed that the local company is actually **#1 Garage Door itself, not a subcontractor**--yet they still could not offer anything sooner. To summarize: **two cancelled/no-show appointments over 7 days, followed by management approving another 9-day wait as their solution.** I contacted another garage door service provider, explained the situation, and they were able to schedule service **for the very next day**. Being friendly on the phone does not make up for repeatedly missing appointments and then expecting the customer to wait another 9 days for a problem the company failed twice to address. **Based on this experience and especially the lack of meaningful customer service when things went wrong, I CANNOT RECOMMEND #1 Garage Door.**

HORRIBLE experience with technician Victor Gonzalez - high pressure rip off attempt…read more This company installed my garage door and serviced it twice. Then they sent Victor Gonzalez, who immediately tried to screw me over on a simple spring replacement. He opened at over $1,300, dropped to around $1,100 when I pushed back, and finally floated ~$700 after I kept rejecting his nonsense. Classic bait and switch pricing... start absurdly high, "negotiate" down so the still-inflated number feels like a deal. I told him no, twice. Clear. Direct. On the third attempt he kept pushing, so I made it crystal clear I wasn't playing games and he needed to get out of my house. He still harassed me after I shut it down lingering in front of my house, arguing, refusing to take the repeated "no" for an answer. On top of the shady in home sales tactics, the company records phone conversations without any notification. And their website reviews? They display as five stars while the actual ratings are one star. Straight up deception.
