Last month - July 16, 2023 (Sunday morning) our trailer was stolen along with numerous other people's property including a truck, other trailers, RV, and even broke into a storage unit with valuable things inside!. Our trailer was stolen on a Sunday Morning in broad daylight, and the thieves were able to make a double trip within the two hours of the evil thievery! Not only were the thieves able to make a double trip on that Sunday morning, but they were there stealing on the Thursday - July 13, 2023 before! The owner obviously did not secure the gate so this would not happen again. The thieves broke the chain on the automatic gate system and opened it manually. The gate to this day is not completely repaired! This was negligence, and irresponsibility on the company's part! Memorial storage obviously does not care about their customers..This company did not even think to let the tenants know about the first break in - Just a heads up would've been nice, for example we have our new storage facility that we are now storing our RV that emails us about the increasing crime at storage facilities (for a heads up), and the gate is properly secured at our new facility! This is so sad and heartbreaking for the hard working people that had their belongings stolen that will probably never get back.. I called a week or two in advanced of my move because I absolutely needed something set up as I was on a strict timeline. She gave me my unit number, and set up a gate code for me and I sent her payment. The day she told me I was good to move into the unit, I rent my uhual and arrange for a friend to help me move my things. We show up to my unit and find a lock already on it. I attempted to call Terrie twice with no luck, left a voicemail. Since I already paid for a unit and mine was already taken, I threw my stuff into an empty unit, and called Terrie one more time to inform her of the new unit I left my stuff in via voicemail. One week goes by and Terrie finally calls me back. At this point my stuff is already out of the unit. Terrie goes on to say we need to go over a couple things and also goes on to ask when I want to give my two weeks notice. I had to remind Terrie that when I first reserved my unit I also gave her the two weeks notice. I had to explain several times that MY unit she assigned me was already in use, and she never acknowledged she received any of my voicemails. To my surprise she actually apologized and said she had some things going on and was out of town. While I understand life happens and everyone has their own stuff going on this is still a business and not receiving a call back for a whole week is pretty unacceptable. If there had been no open units I would have been completely out of luck.
