Well, we made an unexpected visit here a couple of weeks ago. My daughter had an accident with a…read morelog chain. Long story short she broke the tip of her finger. With the virus spreading rapidly I decided to go to the closest ER that I imagined would be less busy. When we arrived nobody was outside of the building so I called to see what the protocol was. The man said to come on in and he would be there waiting for us with masks. Well he sure was. We were given masks and escorted to the room as soon as we walked in. They got our info, an xray and diagnosis within 30 to 45 minutes. Super fast and friendly. I don't think I've ever been in and out of an ER that fast. The place was super clean and they seemed to be very vigilant and took proper precautions with the current circumstances. We were referred to an ortho before we left. (luckily no surgery needed) I will choose Portland ER from now on!

I find this review difficult. This is the FT hospice unit my Nana was sent to to transition into…read morehome hospice. Her five day respite stay allowed us to get a handle on what would be needed when she was brought home. We were taught how to reposition her since she became paralyzed after suffering a massive stroke. We were taught how to give her medications since she can no longer swallow. Things I never wanted to learn but now have to know. The people here have a special calling. I cannot imagine what it must be like to work with so many people who are transitioning into the final stage of their life as they go through the dying process. So many of them told my mother and me that it was an absolute privilege to do this type of work. All I know is that I am grateful there are caregivers like them out there for people like us. On a separate note, the home health team from Alive Hospice has also been great. I am grateful for these angels on earth to be here and give my grandmother peace, dignity and respect as her little body shuts down.

Then when I got there they had more forms to review including a section for a deceased person??! Very professional and did a great job on my root canal. I had a flare up of some pain two days later and had to have the on call staff have my dentist call me. I didn't want to disturb his weekend, but he was very nice. He explained why it might be flaring up, told me what medication to use, including a prescription antibiotic and Tylenol every 6 hours. It worked and I didn't have any more pain. This may be a bit of a detailed review, but I can't stress enough how caring and professional they were.
