I've been a patient with them over 10 years (starting when it was Weaver Clinic). Annie Cole is my NP and absolutely love her. I get my well visits, paps and blood work done here. Reading the poor reviews about wait time, I sometimes have had to wait a lot longer than I wanted, as with most medical appointments, but I just resigned to the fact it's gonna happen, I schedule it on my day off, and- I have Internet ‍. I and several other people I know are just disappointed. This office is no longer for people that are sick. They are more concerned with botox and plastic surgery. The last time I went in for a uti they didn't even do a urine sample. I left and went straight to a clinic. I will absolutely never go back to Dr. Coles office. This practice is more of an upselling business than a medical office in my experience. They did not follow up on my health issues, tried to upsell me their in office weight loss shots, and they did not contact me when they said they would to follow up on tests the provider said we're needed. The provider was dismissive with my health concerns. I would not recommend this practice. I will never go back to this practice. They left me feeling completely uncared for and ignored. Pro: parent's choice regarding vax for babies & kids. You can get a new patient appointment booked quickly. CONS: (there are a lot) -LONG wait times: their schedule is so packed every hour you'll wait in the room 30-45 minutes for the doctor, even at 8am. My family had 5 appointments here and this happened EVERY time. -Appointments are RUSHED. No time to listen to patients. They literally make you sign a paper before each appointment saying you're not allowed to bring up any extra concerns other than what you made an appointment for because it's "disrespectful of their time." -Quick to prescribe meds for everything. This is not the integrated while-body approach my family was hoping for. -Money-hungry. -Rude receptionist staff. Every time I call, when I finally get ahold of the front desk, the admins sound so annoyed and are completely unhelpful. -Such a bad experience all around. This practice is always overbooked and the nurse practitioners are always running 30-60 minutes late for your appointment. The front desk people are typically rude on the phone and sound like they don't want to be bothered. I do not trust my health nor my children's health to this practice. Nurse practitioners seem nice but not very well informed. I took my child in for a yearly checkup and was satisfied with the service everything seemed very basic/ surface level however, I was ok with this for a checkup ... I tried calling on three separate occasions (over a year period) for a same day/ next day sick visit however, they were never able to accommodate a visit so I wound up going to an urgent care all 3 times. We have decided to find a new provider after scheduling an appointment for some ongoing issues but was recommend to take Tylenol ... no blood work no further testing nothing just take Tylenol ... even after I stated that OTC options had been tried and didn't work and I was really wanting to figure out what was going on. read more

I would give them no stars but before ai could post this I had to. I spent last night in the ER with very high blood sugar and they ask me to go to my provider and ask for them to call me in a prescription for insulin. They would not even do it because they did not feel comfortable doing so. I would not recommend them for my animals. My suggestion is go somewhere else!! read more

I switched to Cole Family Practice after reading they had experience with Thyroid Care. I have Hashimoto's Disease and Hypothyroidism. Amy got to know me on a personal level and really listened to my concerns and thoughts about my health. She understood that I still didn't feel well, even after my Endocrinologist had cleared me. She took multiple tests and diagnosed me with Adrenal Fatigue, and this was the first time this had ever shown up on my radar. Now we have a comprehensive plan to getting my life back on track and feeling better than I have in YEARS! I also see them for IV therapy and other regular doctor needs that come up. My visits here were basically a clown show. I first came for maternity care and the appointment was extremely basic. They didn't even ask how I had been feeling or anything about symptoms at all. I expected them to "medically confirm" the pregnancy by doing a pregnancy test or testing hcg (which should be typical of a first appointment) but they didn't even do that. I told them my exact dates because I'm well educated in charting and fertility and she didn't seem to understand anything I was saying and just kept trying to move my due date to an inaccurate date. She declined when I asked if she wanted to see my fertility chart so she could understand better. I went back a week later because I was having some severe symptoms and was put with a different NP. She acted like she didn't have 30 seconds to spend in the room with me and kept cutting me off before I could finish explaining my symptoms and basically told me she couldn't help me because I was pregnant and I would need to make another appointment to see who I saw the week before. I was confused why that hadn't been the case because I clearly explained my situation when I made the appointment. She didn't even look at my chart to see that I was there for a specific test. I had a question about the test and she told me that my question "was too deep for her". I think this is a fine place for very simple issues and check ups but don't expect much help if you actually need them to think through anything or help with complex situations. read more

Cole Family Practice has cupping!!!!!! Truly an Amazing experience. WoW!!! I have been coming to Cole Family Practice for close to 10 years. Amy Cole and Company handle all of my primary care needs. I have complete trust in them which was the reason I wanted to experience a cupping session with Amy Cole, NP. I had received cupping one time prior and it was an extremely painful experience. This session was completely different. It was not painful at all. It was a deep pull with no pain. Amy occasionally moved the cup which felt like a deep tissue massage that reached to a structural level. I carry a great deal of tension in my upper traps and both sides of my neck. This extends into my mid back where I tend to feel this constant, nagging pull across my back and spine on both sides. It's manageable with chiropractic care AND it keeps returning. I have been pain free in that area since my cupping session four (4) days ago. I am beyond thrilled and I look forward to future sessions to focus on my low back and hips. This is so not just for athletes anymore. Do yourself a favor and experience a cupping session with Amy Cole, NP you will be thrilled you did. read more

When you have a random charge and call about it. Trying to get an answer that they clearly cannot answer so they send u the visit notes that reflect alot of false info. with a rude sticky note! So u call back to still find the ans and get something totally different with an attitude that you are a bother 2 them! And no one knows who wrote the sticky note! So u ask for Amy Cole 2 call u about what happened. allow 1 week to go by when waiting for a cb from Amy & hve to call again & then another week. she clearly doesn't care to take the time to call her patients about the concern/s in her office! read more

horrible service!. I has never seen by the main nurse. My chiropractor sent there to get steroids prescribed, due to a severe inflammation and I got my prescription and sent back home in PAIN!. Nurse didn't bother to ask me where the pain was.... or what happened ... or anything! I never saw her face. While I was waiting I took one of the brochures and it seems to be a good clinic with lots of things to help patiens, but would you back to a place where your appt was in less than 10 min? and without seeing a Dr. or Nurse ? and get your prescription w/o getting instructions on how to take it .... I was in pain and on top of that you know how they made me feel?. I felt my appt/service was based on my skin color, my accent when I speak and for being self pay. May not be like that, but Thats exactly what I felt. My health is not as important compare to a caucasian patient or less important for not having good insurance. Moms & children under age 10 should avoid this practice. The woman at the front desk is super rude and unaccommodating, almost intentionally non-communicative. This office shuts down internet so that clients are unable to use cell phones or tablets in the waiting area. That means parents are unable to entertain impatient young kids or special needs children with YouTube videos or iPhone activities during the long wait. They offer no toys in the waiting area, and look on in disgust when toddlers and young kids begin running around acting out when appointments run late. What do you expect? If you're going to welcome children as patients, at least set up the waiting room accordingly and allow parents to use wifi, tablets, phones, or other resources. Or most importantly, don't overbook - that way your appointments will be closer to the scheduled time slot. We will definitely be taking our business to a practice that respects the needs of children, especially those with learning differences & special needs. read more

First strike was the fact that they require separate office visits for every single procedure "because of insurance". Separate appointments for a pap smear and a physical; every other doctor I've ever been to will try to knock out as much routine work as possible in one appointment that they can. This is a sly way to charge insurance more for individual office visits. If you want birth control, you must have a "well woman" visit annually outside of your normal physical, even though the Dept. of Health only recommends a pap test every three years - again, a sly way to get more office visits to make more money. Second strike, I scheduled an appointment for some blood work right when they opened so I could get in before work. Waited 45 minutes before the front desk staff tells me their phlebotomist won't be coming today. Third strike. I've been having unusual symptoms that I've been concerned about. I called yesterday morning to ask to speak to an RN or Dr. about it. Receptionist told me I would need to speak to the RN that did my last intake, and she would have to call me back the next day. Thought this was ridiculous as any Dr or RN would be capable, but I really am a patient person, so ok. Today I never recieved a call, growing steadily concerned I called the clinic back, and was told the RN left a sample prescription for me. I don't need a new prescription - I was just prescribed one. I just need someone to tell me if my symptoms are normal or not. I asked the receptionist if I could just speak to the RN for a minute and I was told she was on the way out the door and had to pick up her kid. So I brainstormed my symptoms with the receptionist, who said my symptoms may be normal, I may just need to try my current prescription longer, or I may need to go to the emergency room. But the sample of the new prescription is there if I want to pick it up before they close. Being in such a vulnerable state, trusting my pcp for advice, and then being completely ignored. I am still shocked over their disregard for my health. Needless to say, I've made an appointment with a different provider. read more

One year ago, I had my annual physical at Cole's, and upon notifying the provider about not being able to urinate normally, they recommended a prostate exam, which I had. They found I had an enlarged prostate and added the PSA test to the usual labs. I subsequently received a call telling me that my blood work checked out. Fast forward a year and I am having my annual physical again, and I tell them about my enlarged prostate. They asked if I had PSA tests done and I said, yes. Initially I thought it was done at another clinic, so I attempted to get the results to be sent over to Cole's; however, I find out that the exam was done there at Cole's. So I call them to let them that THEY should have the results of the PSA tests from a year ago. Here's the kicker... they find NO PSA TEST had been performed. So for an entire year, I was under the impression that my PSA results were fine. I am beside myself. Cole's is now having my PSA test run. I hope they come back normal or I will have lost one year of any treatment I could have been receiving. read more

I love their holistic approach to modern medicine, and I never feel as though I'm being rushed or pushed into anything. I would like to give more stars, because my experience with the doctors has been great- once I actually see them. I've never waited any less than a half hour to be taken to an exam room. On one occasion, I was left in an exam room for 40 minutes after being in the waiting room for a half hour. I got someone's attention by opening the door and standing in the hall. The office phone message clearly states their hours, but I haven't been able to get through an hour after opening or before closing. I called at 7:30 because my daughter was ill. It took until after 8:30 before someone answered the phone, once I'd been redialing every few minutes. Yesterday, the phone went to voicemail at 4pm (they close at 5 or 5:30). I was trying to check on the status of a prescription, and no one answers the phone during business hours. I just called again today (because the pharmacy now hasn't heard back from the office 24 hours after I called in for refills), and was told they didn't have a record of the pharmacy trying to reach them. This is extremely unprofessional. I'll be taking my daughter to another practice. **UPDATE: I've since had another child, and gave Cole another chance. At his one week check up, we were brought back to an exam room relatively quickly (3:15 at a 3:00 appointment). He was weighed and measured. I was told the doctor would be by shortly. It was 4:00 (40 minutes later) before I went in the hall to hunt someone down, and Dr. Amy said she was just headed our way. This wasn't a mistake or an extra busy day. This is how we've been treated every time we've come into the office. It's disrespectful of our time. I doubt if I showed up to an appointment 40 minutes late that they would accommodate me. read more

I'm sitting here going through withdrawals from my very basic SSRI because they won't return my calls. I've called several times and left messages and have gotten no response. My medication was lost or stolen and they can't seem to understand that going from taking the same medication every day for the last decade to suddenly taking nothing is dangerous and uncomfortable. But to be fair, they didn't want to give me a new kind of medication instead either. So I guess they're happier doing nothing. I sincerely can't stand this group. They're easy to get into but they are so slow to get from beginning of the appointment until checkout. It's ridiculous. You can give them very detailed information about the kind of help you need like postpartum depression and they still ask you why you're there. They don't read charts, they don't follow up, they give ridiculous options. I'm overall very disappointed and am just done. The best nurse practitioner they had Amy B. Left for another state. Since then and the addition of Marybeth it's really gone downhill. Nothing is as great as being told that there's nothing they would do for your depression and that maybe I should try over the counter eucerin for my eczema. After they were informed that I've tried everything they suggested that the eczema should have been a different appointment than the PPD appointment, so I make a different appointment and they finally prescribe a cream for my skin- which cost $140 and didn't do a thing. I had previously mentioned a cream that I knew to be effective and that I was interested in but they decided to prescribe something else. Maybe they're being paid by that group? I'm so glad they're willing to take my money and give me stuff that won't work. Good luck to anyone that continues to see Marybeth and Cole Family Practice. Their appointments are expensive and they're so willing to nickel and dime you! Here it is all these weeks later. I've still tried to get a billing issue settled and Cole family won't answer the phone and they won't call you back. Overall, worst service I've ever had with a physician. Their inadequacy has caused me financial and physical pain and has cost them a lot of money from my family and our insurance. read more

I absolutely love all of the staff at Cole Family Practice! Amy Cole was my midwife while I was pregnant, and now Connie Hamilton sees my baby for all her well child visits. They are always thorough and take all the time needed to answer questions. Amy has always been quick to respond or call back to answer any questions I have had with either me or my baby's health. (She even called after hours on a Friday night to give us our newborn's bilirubin results so we wouldn't have to worry all weekend!) A few other reviews complained about the wait time. I've never had to wait an exceeding amount of time, no more than anywhere else. They way I see it, they take their time with their patients, answering questions and concerns and never make you feel rushed. I highly recommend Cole Family Practice! read more

They were quick to address my depression and anxiety by prescribing antidepressants immediately and seem to genuinely care about my wellbeing. I used Cole family practice when I was pregnant and the nurse Midwife Annie Sorensen was absolutely amazing! I couldn't have had a better experience! The other nurses were super sweet and very friendly. The only reason I give them three stars is because after my son was born his pediatrician was Amy and I was less then enthused about her, she seemed nice but she was not very personable and I never felt like my son was a priority. She also made me feel that my fears and concerns (even though I am a first time mom and can worry unnecessarily) were not valid or normal. Also I don't think I have waiting any less then 30-40 minutes before we got to see the doctor for a total of 5 minutes. In my opinion, if you are pregnant and looking for a nurse midwife this is an amazing place to go (it is through the Vanderbilt nurse midwife program) but I would suggest finding a pediatrician somewhere else once your baby is here. read more

I really wanted to like this place! The office is well decorated and most everyone I came into contact with was very nice. Overall, I felt like I was in the way every time I came in. I felt like my concerns were not taken seriously and now I'm still out of an explanation for a health issue I've been having. During my last visit I was met with probably the nicest nurses I had ever met there previously, and I thought I was finally moving forward with some answers. I was told I should see a specialist about an issue I've been having and that the specialist would contact me. That was over a month ago, and I have not heard from a specialist still. When I called back to see what the deal was, there were no notes regarding the specialist and I was told I'd get a call back. That was over a week ago. If this had been the one and only incident, I would probably brush it off, but that's what I did after my first visit, and after my second visit, and now I know I won't be returning. read more

I have been with this practice for a many years, when I welcomed my new bundle of joy I was happy to have her pediatric care be given by Cole family. However, I typically saw Annie and was not informed she had left the practice until I called to make my daughters first appointment. No one contacted me as her own patient letting me know that my doctor was leaving. The new practitioner is nice but does not seem professional. She didn't even know what was in my daughters immunization shots and had to go look it up, or that I am on thyroid medicine when I came in asking to have my levels checked. Early this morning my daughter, who is less than three months, woke up with a cough. As a first time mom, this concerned me so I called the on-call practitioner. When she did call me back, an hour later, I was chastised by her saying to not call her for issues like this and she was not ready to start her day because she also has little ones. I get the struggle of being a working mother, but I also don't think my child's doctors shouldn't treat their patients with disrespect. Needless to say, I will be taking my daughter to a new pediatrician and myself to a new general practitioner. I'm disappointed that what used to be a wonderful family care has turned into nonprofessional, disappointing care. read more
