However, I just have to give a warning for those of you out there who are HEALTHCARE professionals looking for a renewal class. DO NOT take this class at this school, especially with the instructor Cathy!! I am sure outside of class that Cathy is a nice enough lady, but she was the worst instructor I had ever had and I have been taking CPR for HC professionals for years in various locations. Her teaching style leaves a lot to be desired as she uses public humiliation to get her point across. Case in point, she makes every participant demonstrate in front of everyone until she is satisfied with your technique. And if you can't get it right, she will chastise you in front of your peers. Furthermore, her class is INCREDIBLY too long - we began at 830am sharp and I did not leave her class until after 130pm...and I was one of the first to be done with my written skills test. I am just sorry for those who took longer to complete the test! Adding to the incredibly long class, she took 45 minutes in the beginning of class for housekeeping....."signature here, signature there, wash your hands, let us all introduce us to each other, blah...blah" The class room is also in a very claustrophobic location, the ceiling was so low that I could touch it (I'm 5'4") and it has no windows. We also had no breaks aside from one 5 minute break for water and granola bars - which she provided, which was nice of her. But to top it off, she did not have us watch the usual video from the American Heart Association as she claimed the "machine was broken." When one of my fellow students offered up his laptop to show the DVD, she refused. I think she just wanted to hear herself drone on and on. This class took up almost my entire Saturday and went at a snail's pace for all of us who have taken the class before (i.e. renewers). I can't recommend this class as it was not a good example of a AHA sponsored class that usually takes 3 hours, tops! Avoid if possible.

And when there is immediate need, I have gone to Red Cross offices in Baltimore, and in Montgomery County. Intake staff and blood draw personnel are well trained and welcoming.

She is just the nicest, kindest person ever. Stacey, advised me to go to the urgent care center when I couldn't get in to see an orthopedic doctor before the weekend. She even helped me find a good one. Then, when an appointment opened up, she called me and booked the appointment for me at Ortho Bethesda. Stacey, you are an angel. I went to see Dr. Gazdag and he was wonderful. He was funny and an excellent professional. We took more X-rays, so if you see a light in Rockville, it is just me glowing at night. I am in a boot and a cane, but no surgery needed. Amen! The people who work with Dr. Gazdag and Ortho Bethesda were awesome. They were very nice and helpful. I got great care and I have respect for the office. And, thank you, Stacey for making sure I was taken care of.

The facility was comfortable, the attendants made the scan easy, and the doctor's explanations were understandable. Nothing unexpected stood out on the images. Unfortunately, about a month later I was diagnosed with cancer when my symptoms got worse. I did not have any expectations that this was the same as a diagnostic CT and my cancer was not a solid tumor type so I was not surprised nothing was found on the Virtual Physical. However, when deciding on whether to spend such a large amount of money, people should know that this type of scan won't catch certain physical problems.

NO ONE CALLED TO ALERT ME. I had waited TWO WEEKS & now I have to find another doctor and try to reschedule, when appts are impossible to get this time of year. So I have to live with the pain for who knows how much longer. The office tried to blame the doctor not being there on ZocDoc. Pathetic! The front desk said there was nothing they could do except make a new appt. I demanded to speak to the manager, Mary, who was apologetic. As an aside one of the staff at the reception desk was COUGHING WITHOUT WEARING A MASK OR COVERING HER MOUTH. What kind of an outfit is this? I have many ortho problems and had heard good things about MedStar and was thinking of transferring from GW University. NO WAY. I am totally done with this place and MedStar.

I had an excellent experience while getting an MRI at CRA. The staff is absolutely wonderful. CRA…read moredefinitely gets an A+ for customer service...at least in person. I did have a bit of trouble finding the right person to speak to on the phone. I'll say that the two women women working at the receptionist desk during my visit were extremely nice. Setting an appointment was a breeze, and CRA provides an option to complete all of your paperwork online before your visit. Checking in was also a breeze. Although I arrived about 20 minutes before my check in time (just as a just in case since I was a 1st time patient), they let me start my MRI a bit early, which was great. Just like the women at reception, the MRI team were super nice too. The facilities were quite clean and looked maintained. However, I was a little concerned that the warm water in the restroom was white even after running the water for a couple of minutes. CRA/medical park has a decent number of free parking spaces, which is becoming more rare these days, so that's one less thing to worry about. Actually, the parking situation is why I arrived earlier than my check in time, because it seems impossible to find free parking in this area. Fortunately, you will not have that problem at CRA.

Dr. Siram is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. During my initial consultation he reviewed my…read moremedical records and discussed treatment options. His imaging diagnosis convinced me of the importance to move forward with hip replacement surgery. Summit Orthopedics works closely with Sibley Hospital so I was able to schedule a Monday morning surgery and overnight stay at the hospital. The Nurse Navigator Supervisor at Sibley provided information on Pre-Op procedures and an appointment with Sarah, Summit's Nurse Practitioner, involved a review of the surgical procedures and the list of medications with a review of frequency. Dr. Siram brought together a great surgical team comprised of the Sibley Hospital Orthopedic doctors and nursing staff and an anaesthesiologist. The first nurse assigned to my post-Op care placed top priority on Pain Control and coordinated a meeting with In-House PT/OT Team to review and practice the Post-Operative exercises. I completed 2 weeks of In-Home physical therapy with Potomac Home Health Care, affiliated with Johns Hopkins and Sibley. The PT specialist was exceptional: checked vitals; reviewed my medications; provided a home exercise plan that helped me to begin walking with and without a cane, before starting In Office Post-Op PT. I would strongly recommend the Dr. Siram | Sibley Orthopedic Team.
