I have taken the CPR & AED course (for trainers and laypeople) twice in the last 3 years with Life…read moreRescue, and enjoyed it both times. In both cases, my instructor was Amer Tobing, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second before taking his course again when my certification expires. Although I've been CPR certified several times, Life Rescue offered more practical information than my previous certs. Amer's background as a firefighter and in emergency medical services shows, as he has a focused, no-nonsense attitude toward assessing an emergency situation and acting. He teaches us to think in a similar manner by addressing and hammering the most important things to know and remember. He also has a sense of humor, and is great at connecting with people, which makes his class more fun than I ever expected. But make no mistake: he takes his job and the subject matter very seriously, and doesn't let jokes overshadow or displace what is most important. I like how he spends a lot of time focusing on the reality of emergency situations vs. textbook scenarios, because there are some things that books won't tell you. Even though I had taken his class before, the second time around, he didn't let me off the hook if I could have performed something better. I really appreciated it, because it's sometimes the little things that can make a difference. Overall, it feels less like a class and more like practicing and discussing with a coach. I learned more each time, and further reinforced what I previously knew. I feel much more confident after having taken his course, would recommend it to anyone, and actually look forward to taking it again in the future.

First, I am not writing this review to discourage anyone from learning CPR...it is a very important…read moreand lifesaving piece of knowledge to have and I encourage everyone to learn it. However, I just have to give a warning for those of you out there who are HEALTHCARE professionals looking for a renewal class. DO NOT take this class at this school, especially with the instructor Cathy!! I am sure outside of class that Cathy is a nice enough lady, but she was the worst instructor I had ever had and I have been taking CPR for HC professionals for years in various locations. Her teaching style leaves a lot to be desired as she uses public humiliation to get her point across. Case in point, she makes every participant demonstrate in front of everyone until she is satisfied with your technique. And if you can't get it right, she will chastise you in front of your peers. Furthermore, her class is INCREDIBLY too long - we began at 830am sharp and I did not leave her class until after 130pm...and I was one of the first to be done with my written skills test. I am just sorry for those who took longer to complete the test! Adding to the incredibly long class, she took 45 minutes in the beginning of class for housekeeping....."signature here, signature there, wash your hands, let us all introduce us to each other, blah...blah" The class room is also in a very claustrophobic location, the ceiling was so low that I could touch it (I'm 5'4") and it has no windows. We also had no breaks aside from one 5 minute break for water and granola bars - which she provided, which was nice of her. But to top it off, she did not have us watch the usual video from the American Heart Association as she claimed the "machine was broken." When one of my fellow students offered up his laptop to show the DVD, she refused. I think she just wanted to hear herself drone on and on. This class took up almost my entire Saturday and went at a snail's pace for all of us who have taken the class before (i.e. renewers). I can't recommend this class as it was not a good example of a AHA sponsored class that usually takes 3 hours, tops! Avoid if possible.

I am very glad I came back here again for my renewal course. Similar to before, this was very…read moreinformative and the instructor was great and explained each step very well. Years later I would still recommend this class with Deborah!

We took the childbirth education and cpr classes…read more I'd recommend them. One class was held at Nidhi's residence (separate from her home) and another was at an office location in Arlington. The instructors were great. Nidhi is very knowledgeable, friendly, and open. The class sizes were pretty small and you're encouraged to ask lots of questions. There were also snacks and water which are important to me since i was pregnant and didn't want to go 2+ hours not eating/drinking anything. My husband and I brought sandwiches to one class and we were able to eat them during the class (it was around dinner time/6pm) so atmosphere is casual which I appreciate. You get an online resource packet after the class that summarizes everything covered. Should probably look at that again as i am typing this before my gassy, ornery newborn wakes up.

Nested's Newborn Care/ Infant CPR Bootcamp absolitely knocked it out of the park. I learned SO MUCH about the stages baby's are going through when they're first born, the routines you're establishing, the techniques you can use to care for them and more. Renie and Migma are so nice, and so clearly so committed to what they do, I felt extremely comfortable and confident under their instruction. The class imparts so much information in a 4-hour course, and the cherry on top is that after completing the in-person and online class imparts now Red Cross certified for both Adult and Infant CPR, and feel confident in both. Even Though I myself am not expecting, I was welcomed and encouraged in my desire to learn. Whether you're an expecting parent or a loved one seeking to prepare to be an involved member of a child's early life, i really can't recommend Nested and specifically the Newborn Care bootcamp highly enough! Absolutely worth the value!
