I needed a CPR certification for work and luckily High Quality CPR offers CPR courses almost daily. I felt that signing up for courses was quick and easy. Do note that you MUST buy either a hardcover textbook or ebook that pairs with the course $14.50 The course was straight forward and well put on by the instructor Monique. Wasn't impressed initially but it's adequate. Instructions emailed on sign up were clear and detailed. I had to call because no email about my ebook was given. Others In the course also had this problem but call and she will send you a new link. Instructor showed up on time. If you are early, the classroom door will be locked and you will have to wait. So don't arrive too early. The course is better as a renewal course than initial course, as I felt 2/5 students didn't get proper hand positioning or team dynamics during role play, yet they were never corrected properly. As a result, they continued to struggle with Bag masking, chest compression depth due to poor positioning, and still didn't understand how to properly switch compression and AED roles. BLS isn't hard but technique is the make or break and technique was not emphasized properly at all. Three stars because it got the job done. Easy parking. Cards emailed four hours later. read more

Enrolling online was easy. Parking was easy and clear in the instructions. The door said she would be back at 6PM so I waited a little bit but she showed up...no issue there. I was in no rush. I did the hybrid class where I did half online and skills portion in class. Once we sat down, we watched a short film and jumped right into testing. I appreciated this greatly. This was the worst cpr class I have ever taken. My original class was cancelled the day of because the instructor was sick. They called about 1hr and 30mins before the Alexander class was suppose to start. I was rescheduled at the their silver springs location which was the same day and time. However, this bothered me because I went from a 8min drive to a 40 minute drive. When I got to the building it was old and dirty. My classmates and I sat in this tiny classroom while another class was going on for 30mins. One of the students in the class said their class started late because their instructor was in tracfiic because of an accident. Excuses, excuses this place was full of crap. The cpr class was totally unorganized and not structured. This place was ghetto they didn't have pencils and pens for us to write with. And barely enough supplies for us to practice skills. Then I was told I would get an electronic card that day by 5pm until we got the originals in the mail. I received my electronic card at 8pm this was after multiple texts and phone calls of me complaining I had not received it. For my inconvience the lady did refund me $25. Hell to me that's all that unorganized, dirty place and class was worth. Please don't waste your time with this place. They are the true meaning of "GHETTO FABULOUS ". She heard how shocked I was over the phone and placed a "promotion code" which brought the price down to $195. I had a horrible experience with this company!! I actually found them through Yelp, and even after reading the reviews from other users, still decided to take a BLS for Providers course with them since they were close to my house. Slap. In. The. Face. HUGE. MISTAKE. I enrolled trough their website and spent $90+ dollars on the course as well as books that they claim will be provided to you on the same day of class.. "umm okay, sure." I thought. Something about that made me feel uneasy, but I just went with it. (Next time I will follow my instincts) Fast forward to the day of class. They're located in Silver Spring. The other users are correct, the building looks kind of abandoned from the outside. But once you put the code in, the doors unlock. There is a scary looking elevator in there so I opted for the steps. Up the stairs and down a hallway you'll find the room. It's really small and dark and there were two instructors there with a couple of long tables connected to one another in a circle, sort of. They had us watch a couple of videos but the shorter instructor talked most of the time. She kept backtracking her statements which pissed me off because I can't remember everything you're saying if your retracting statements every other sentence. She was okay but very unorganized and kind of immature. The older woman kept looking at her and interjecting to correct what she was saying. It was a nightmare. In between the videos, I asked about the books I were to receive and showed a copy of my receipt I'd printed,m. They said "oh we are out of stock, but we'll mail them to you once class is done". UMM I need those books FOR THIS CLASS. THE ONE IM SITTING IN RIGHT NOW. Why would I have paid an extra $20+ dollars for books you don't even have on hand LIKE YOU ORIGINALLY SAID YOU WOULD?? Seriously I was livid at this point. I was totally through with this sham of a business. They make you take a quiz at the end of the class which I passed but no thanks to their style of teaching. (Trusty pen and paper) So as you may have thought, NO my BLS books never came! Even after multiple attempts at calling them and leaving messages on their almost ALWAYS full voice service. I tried emailing them. Nothing. The one time I did get in touch with an actual person, she gave me this sappy story about sending it out (which I'm sure you did...NOT) and said she'd send the books again. You all know I have yet to receive anything. So I just left it alone and told myself that even when I have to renew my BLS certification, I will stay FAR away from these unprofessional people and their "company". Beware!! read more

Not a great experience. Had a class scheduled at the Alexandria location which was cancelled and rescheduled due to instructor availability. I rescheduled and when I showed up , no one was there... all doors were locked, etc. I was the only person waiting so I was very unsure of the situation. After I placed multiple calls to the main location, the instructor finally showed up, almost 20-30 min after my scheduled time. The instruction/ skills session itself was fine, the instructor was knowledgable and it was more or less painless. Thereafter, per the person that taught my class, I was to receive an email certificate by 7 pm the day i had my session. This was on a Thursday and on Sunday (3 days later), I still have nothing. Horrible customer service!! Whenever I call I keep being told I'll receive a discount, but thats besides the point, I want the appropriate timely service. I don't care about a discount. It doesn't help that I was late in providing needed certification to my employer in a timely fashion. Will not recommend this company to anyone. There are plenty of other venues to obtain CPR certification in this area. read more

Excellent experience. I recommend taking the online hybrid course. You take an online portion on the American Heart Association website, and then come into High Quality CPR for a one hour skills session. I definitely feel more prepared to provide CPR in the real world after the instructor observed and corrected my techniques. Got my BLS card on the same day directly from the instructor at the end of class. Highly recommended. read more

I signed up for a course. An hour before the class was supposed to begin, I received a call saying there was a power outage and it was canceled. Ok, out of their control, no worries. I rescheduled for another class in a week, and changed my plans so that I could make it fit with my schedule. Less than 24 hours before the class was to begin, I received communication saying the class was canceled due to low enrollment. I asked for a refund, which, to their credit, they gave right away. I was also sent an email offering a free class to make up for it. I accepted the offer, but was given no time of the class, no confirmation of whether or not I was enrolled, and my email correspondence was was not responded to. Though, admittedly, they were generally polite (which is why I gave 2 stars, not 1), the headache is not worth it; save your time, go elsewhere. read more

A complete nightmare-Reached out to this place several times via email since the voicemail box was full. It took a while for Monique to get back to me. When she did, I had to keep following up to confirm everything. When I followed up a few days before she was supposed to come, she said her instructor that she was going to send was sick so she was sending another woman. This woman came by on time and taught the class (right around the corner in Silver Spring) however, Monique never provided the completion certification cards for our staff. After a week, I had to contact her instructor through AHA who expedited the process to get them shipped. This was after Monique said she would send them. Awful experience with this company. My class was to begin at 8:15 AM. I arrive at 8:10 to find the door locked and no one inside to answer when I knock. At 8:15 I decide to call them. The woman who answers the phone tells me that my instructor should be there. She's not. She then said she would try to contact my instructor and call me right back. 10 minutes later (and 10 minutes after the class was supposed to begin) I still haven't heard back. I call MULTIPLE times and no one answers the phone. Around 8:35, someone calls me and tells me that my instructor has been in a "fender bender" and someone else is going to be sent to instruct me. Don't you think if you've been in a fender bender, you would call your work to let them know? Anyway, I sit here at 8:45, waiting for a class that was supposed to run from 8:15-9:15, waiting for the new instructor to arrive. I would strongly urge against these people for CPR classes if possible. Totally unprofessional and inconvenient for the paying customer. Especially for health care professionals with busy schedules. read more

I took the ACLS skills session here and the instructor was 45 minutes late. Then she started videos that I had already watched for the online portion and left the room. The videos would be waiting for her to start the next one and she would be in an office behind a closed door. She offered me a discount if I ever wanted to sign up for a class again, but never sent the code. Then I had to take PALS and renew my BLS. They had the only PALS class that fit into my schedule, so I was forced to use their services again. The nice thing was that I could do both certifications in the same class for an extra few. The instructor was 15 minutes late this time. Class went smoothly and I took the exams for both PALS and BLS. You don't get your cards onsite. They said they would be emailed the next day. They took 5 days to be emailed and I only received my PALS card. When I tried to email them and call them about my BLS, it took them another 5 days to respond and they basically said it wasn't there fault and they would be in touch shortly.... never again will I take a class here! read more

I had a class with High Quality CPR on July 13th 2015. The class starts 10 minutes later than the actual start time. Once the class starts the training was good. After the training is the worst part. I was told that I would receive my card in the mail sometime around that week. A week passed and the card wasn't delivered. I called to find out whether the card was sent, the answer was yes but they would send another card. I went on vacation July 25th and returned august 18th. The card was not in the mail. I guess stealing money is their process. Other companies that train usually have your card waiting or mail the card within two days. I have tried to get in touch with American Heart Association to see what can be done to resolve this situation read more
