Wanted to sell a silver bullion. Called a bunch of places and APM offered me the most. Professional and friendly staff. read more

Very fair prices, knowledgeable and quick. I brought in a bunch of sterling silverware and gold jewelry and left with a smile! read more

Chuck, Charles and everyone at APM are professional. They are honest and have the best prices. The location is safe and secure. There are armed security guards which adds another level of protection. All my transactions with them have been positive. I highly recommend APM if your looking to buy or sell your precious metals. read more

Honest place. Good rates. Safe location. Knowledgeable staff. I've been to about 6 different PM places over the past 5 years and this place has consistently been the best. It's unfortunate that they are not open 5 days a week (only open 3d/week). But I'm not going to hold that against them! L read more

You will not find a better and more honest dealer. Chuck saved me a bunch of money on a purchase. And after checking around APM has best pricing by far. read more

I have been doing business with Chuck for 25 plus years. Both buying and selling 5 to 10 times per year. I always check premiums with other dealers, both local and out of town. I have never found another dealer who would beat this mans' price. You will find him always polite, patient and informative. read more

Have KNOWN Chuck for over 25 years; and his son TOO! And also his daughter, also. He is first class and MYSELF as a policeman, sheriff, and marshal in Los Angeles County - he is double "darn" honest. In my long life of almost 80 years Chuck is one of 5 people I count as being first class, period. YOU could never do wrong in doing business with him or his family. This is my first place that I think of when considering any - I mean ANY, precious metal product... He is like HONEST FAMILY - the one you invite over and do not feel bad because you LOVE their company... read more

APM Refinery pays the best in town on sterling silver, gold & scrap jewelry. Go see Chuck, open only Tuesday-Thursdays 10-3p read more

See all

I've delt with Chuck for about 8 years now. Initially started out buying Gold and now silver from him. He is by far the best wholesaler in the precious metals market in the area. He is fair and honest. Don't retire chuck !!!! read more

I used to buy silver n gold from online sites that I thought were good. I didn't realize how much extra I was paying for the service until I came here. A 100 oz bar of silver would cost over 3400 after taxes n delivery fees. When I could buy it from chuck for around 2900. They brag about 1 dollar to 1.50 over spot and don't include the taxes until after. Now I just go to chuck n he charges maybe 60 cents over spot with no other taxes. He's also a very friendly and honest man. I literally think he just goes to work so he can service his longtime customers because he cares. read more

Go see Chuck and his son I've been looking for a silver a long time these guys are the best I will take care of you and doing business with these guys for about 14 years read more

Good service, well priced. They person helping was knowledgeable and informative. Will do business with again. Thanks.

Chuck is always a pleasure to deal with. Also the most experienced man In this industry we know. Hours are sometimes a challenge and he is open 10-4 Tues, Wed, Thursday. We always enjoy our time talking about coins, jewelry & precious metals and leave with new information... always learn something new talking to Chuck. read more

Chuck Buckley (APM) is my "go to" precious metals dealer. i have traded gold, silver and platinum with him for over 10 years. He is very fair and knowledgeable about buying and selling precious metals. Why go anywhere else? read more

I had a great experience at this business yesterday and I will be coming back if needed! I get very comfortable and got great value for what I needed done. Thanks guys! read more

I have been turning my gold and silver to American Precious Mtals for a couple of years now. I used to sell fine jewelry 14K on different website auctions but have never received as much as I have been paid by Chuck. I don't know him personally but have never been disappointed in his payouts. read more

Solid place to trade...fairest prices I've found. Catching them open takes some planning but totally worth it

I've been dealing with chuck at APM for years. Selling scrap and buying gold and silver bars and coins. This guy is honest and his premiums are very reasonable. As far as the review that was complaining about him having a gun on his hip, that makes more sense than one under the counter. Under the counter doesn't deter a would be robbery. Out in the open probably keeps him from having to use it. And the comment about fake gold is absurd. If that were true this place would have been out of business years ago. It's not hard to figure out if gold is fake or not. I won't go anywhere else for my gold and silver. Highly recommended. Btw... I drive from ocean beach just to deal with him. read more

My father-in-law, friends and self do business with Chuck at APM for more years than I can count and you can rest assured that this man is honest and offers the best price break in the area, bar-none! It is the only place I go now to buy or sell P-metals. Now, I would like to make a comment about Cody V. and his lonely 1 star. OMG, is this person for real?? Hey Cody, I have not laughed so hard in years and my sides still hurt. You are a real knee slapper and I am sure Ed Sullivan could use you on his show, Oh darn, he has been dead for years, all the luck! Anyway, try to get a grip on reality, trust me, it is out there somewhere, just start looking... R/KMW read more

Great place to get a fair deal. I used to live nearby, now it's 50 miles away from my home. I make the drive without hesitation. It's worth it. Clean and decent people, unlike some other places. I think they are AKA APM Wholesale, at least that's the name on the building anyway. They don't care if you buy one ounce or a hundred which is nice because for smaller investors they treat you just the same. I've tried the other shops in town and I still make the drive to APM, every time. read more

I've been in Chuck's place several times and both he and his son have always been very help and willing to educate me on the questions I've had. I'm glad Chuck wears his side arm - it shows that he is a stand-up guy who believes in the Constitution and the 2nd Amendment - a true patriot! I come to Yelp today to find the Address for APM to give to someone who needed to sell some gold because I am a satisfied customer and was willing to recommend APM. To my dismay - when I printed out this page - I saw the idiot 1 star review from someone who either has never dealt with Gold or Silver before in their life and is a complete Moron for the stupid things they wrote - or - some sleezy competitor trying to scare people. TRUST me - Chuck and his son (former Marine) are the most honest people you could ever hope to deal with. Chuck has a successful business because he has built trusting relationships with people in San Diego for over 25 years. Whatever the other poster was referring to with seniors in Florida has nothing to do with Chuck and his business - just because someone else has a similar name - don't be a moron and jump to conclusions based on ignorance. Arrrg - I felt compelled to share my positive experience with APM, Chuck and his staff - because I hate to see someone give a bad review that is so opposite of reality. It looks like several other satisfied customers have also felt compelled to share their experience :) read more

The only place I will go... Chuck is very kind and very honest. Trust me, you don't want to go anywhere else but here.

APM has the best prices in north county. Beats others by a wide margin on prices. Have never had any problems what so ever and the staff is friendly. Only problem I have is that they don't stay open later than 4pm and are closed on Friday Saturday and Sunday. Other than that I don't really purchase anywhere else unless I find a really good deal which is not very often. read more

Been coming here since mid 1970's, and so does all of my very large extended family. We won't go anywhere else!

Good guys to deal with! Yes they really are open only 3 days a week! They don't take credit cards or debit cards. Recommend shopping here.

APM is the only place i will deal with when I sell Gold or Silver. I live in Phoenix and have driven to them as well as mailed in my pieces. They are fair, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. read more

Some people think this wonderful dealer in precious metals is closed - but it just moved to a new location. And boy, am I glad. They are the very best of the best in terms of fairness, honesty & reliability. I've always sold gold & silver for excellent prices here and with excellent service, but I've seen many repeat customers buying, as well, I wouldn't think of going anywhere else -- Chuck & Family are Solid Gold read more

Known Chuck for 30 years. Live in LA now and do business here, but it really is a pleasure to still go to sd every month or so and see Chuck and Charles. His prices are commensurate (or better) with the "big guys" (golddealer.com). I work ebay, but APM's prices are invariably better, especially when you figure in the fees, buyers who don't pay and the resolution waits and difficulties, schemers, etc. It's no surprise people like this guy/business. No one is more personable or easier to work with...and I'm not even related read more

My 8 yr old son is a budding coin/silver hound. We went here to see how much some random jewelery was worth and and he gave us a more than fair price. Chuck spent 30+ minutes with us explaining ins and outs of coin/silver buying knowing full well we weren't going to make a big purchase. My son ended up buying a couple silver coins. Quality people. Can't wait to go back! read more

I saw the one comment about Chuck and son were packing heat, I would also, they have been most fair, it was worth spending a couple of extra dollars per ounce to take immediate delivery, returned my call promptly. Locked in the price for the metals and I overnighted a check. Good folks. read more

I have been dealing with Chuck and his son Brad (another Chuck actually :)) for years. I have sent him many Customers over the years, None have ever complained or been disappointed. You get a good education and leave more knowledgeable than when you first went in. I can honestly say I go to no one else. In the past I have been taken advantage of by other companies because of a lack of knowledge. I no longer have that issue. If they were not honest and fair, they would not be in this business. I hear so many bad stories from my Customers of how people lied and took advantage of them. I am knowledgeable in the gold and silver business. I know I could gold to L.A. or elsewhere for a couple dollars more, that is if I had a very large amount to cash in, but honestly always wins with me. Thanks guys. read more

This is a great place to do business. As a single mom I sometimes feel intimidated about selling my coins and old jewelry. I didn't know that much about pricing, but they were super helpful and explained a lot. I have been back several times. I feel very comfortable there and they always give me a great price and are very nice down to earth people. When my son gets out of College and I am in a position to buy silver again, I defiantly will go here first. read more

Very Professional and well stocked. As far as I know it's the best deal for metals

My dad and I recently decided to sell some silver ingots he had collected back in the 70's. We shopped around and Chuck/APM offered BY FAR the best price for the silver (and for a gold bracelet we were also selling). The people at APM are professional, honest and very courteous. I would highly recommend you speak with Chuck and APM before selling anywhere else. read more
